Call me crazy, but I actually would not be surprised if Full Throttle had its seatbelts removed and comfort collars added sometime in the future. I don't want this to happen, but SFMM could very possibly do it if they see "faster" (I use that term loosely) dispatches on WCR than compared to the seatbelts on FT.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Yeah, Diamodback 2 makes much more sense! lol The differences between Candy and Skyrush are significant, whereas Orion and Diamondback have many more similarities. -
Ice Breaker looks more intense than WCR. That could play a role, but I'm no expert. Honestly I always thought it was the state that mandated height requirements, not the manufacturer. If Ice Breaker is more intense, then it makes even less sense for WCR to have a 54" restriction. I think it's a combination of many things (park, state, manufacturer, track layout/g-forces). I think the parks definitely play a role, since some height requirements can vary across parks for the exact same ride (like wild mice, for example). But of course, the park will never impose a height requirement that the manufacturer does not approve. I do think WCR is more a intense family coaster rather than a "high thrill" ride, so it is a bummer that kids cannot ride it when they can ride X2, Twisted Colossus, and other (more intense) rides.

Yeah, um, I don't think that will happen. How would the train even articulate? Kings Dominion did tease something "lurking in the jungle," and some signage has indicated a safari theme. I think that is the storyline they will go for. Cedar Fair has made some great decisions recently with theme and incorporating new coasters into existing areas very well (HangTime, Railblazer, Copperhead Strike, and Yukon Striker are some examples). I cannot see them doing something like pictured above...

Add New Mexico and Texas. I have now been to exactly half!

I'm glad I was able to ride it back in June. I was surprised to see it operating when I was there, so I made sure to jump on it. It made me miss Riptide at Knott's a little. The ride and theming is fun, but I think my favorite part of the whole experience was watching a random guy's pockets get emptied during the ride. The fire at the bottom burning everything, including a credit card and $100 bill! That was entertaining. As much as I like these rides, I understand their removal. I will still gladly take HangTime over Boomerang and Riptide. Volcano's replacement (and that whole area) will be great in a few years. Since BGW is currently losing their minds with their new additions, hopefully Kings Dominion can be a *little* competitive in the future. But seriously how can you compete with two kicka$$ Intamins in back-to-back years at the world's most beautiful theme park

For what it's worth, I visited (for the first time) on Sunday, December 22nd, and I was extremely impressed with the entire park, top to bottom. The fact that it was 64 degrees, clear skies, and sunny all day probably helped my mood. But every coaster and major ride was open and running very well it seemed. The only closure I noticed was Sky Screamer. Iron Rattler and Poltergeist were also operating one train, but crowds were pretty minimal all day. I had a fantastic time and was very pleased to see the park fully operational in late-December. Same goes for SFOT. I understand now that HITP is over, things will change. But my Texas trip was very last minute (planned in less than a week) and I am SO glad I took the extra day to drive down to San Antonio. Outside of the big boys like SFMM and SFGAdv, I think SFFT is my next favorite Six Flags park.

1. How many parks did you visit in 2019? I visited 12 different parks in 2019! Knott's, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, CGA, Gilroy Gardens, SFMM, SFDK, SFA, SFOG, SFOT, SFFT, and Lagoon! 2. Name the first 3 coasters that come to mind. Xcelerator, GhostRider, HangTime 4. What was the best flat ride you rode in 2019? Joker at SFFT. The funhouse queue and theming makes it even better than CraZanity! 5. What is your favorite RMC under 130 feet? (cheat sheet) Twisted Timbers 6. What was the last Premier coaster that you rode? West Coast Racers 7. Name a park you've been to that you're already planning to revisit. Do my home parks count? If not, then I definitely plan on revisiting Hersheypark in the next year or two. 8. What is your home park and how many times did you visit in 2019? Knott's Berry Farm, and I visited 13 times in 2019. 9. What park are you most looking forward to visiting in 2020? What ride/coaster disappointed you the most in 2019? Nothing I rode this year was a major disappoint, but I did find New Texas Giant to be more tame than I was expecting. 12. You're at Great Adventure. You play that racist-ish gong game and win a one hour ERT session for you and your friends on ONE coaster of your choice. But damn! El Toro, Kingda Ka and Nitro are all down! So you ride... Batman the Ride! 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? Twisted Timbers 14. Most recent park food you ate. Burger & fries at Disneyland on New Year's Day 15. What park do you wish was your home park? Busch Gardens Tampa 16. What 2020 attraction do you have the biggest boner for? Pantheon! What 2 overseas parks do you want to visit the most? Port Aventura and Walibi Holland 23. The best B&M coaster you rode in 2019 was? Fury 325! 24. What is the saddest/dirtiest credit whore thing you've ever done? I'm 20 years old, and even though I usually skip kiddie coasters, if I really wanna ride one, I take my little sister with me! I have never shamefully credit whored. 25. Last time you bought fast pass? We bought a Flash Pass at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on December 22nd. It was our first time there, and we only had one day, so we decided to opt for it. Turns out it was pretty unnecessary, and crowds were great the whole day. 26. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2019? My brother and I waited just under 2 hours for GhostRider back in December. 27. What season passes/membership do you currently have? Six Flags Diamond Membership and a Knott's season pass. We had Cedar Fair Platinums in 2019, but it expired and we only renewed for our home park since we aren't travelling this year. 28. If you could go to a park with anyone on this forum for a day who would it be and to what park? I'd love to go to La Ronde with Coasterbill. I feel like I would spend the whole day laughing. 29. Battle of the Busch 2020: Iron Gwazi or Pantheon - which would you rather ride? As I said earlier, Pantheon. I love Intamins. 30. Probably Twisted Colossus during WCB 2015. 31. Congrats! You just won passes to spend A WEEK at the park of your choice! Dorney Park or Valley Fair? Pick one and why. That whole park surprised me in general, in a good way. 33. Pick one: Kumba or Montu Tough decision, and I haven't ridden either, but I would say Kumba. 34. What are your three least favorite woodies? Wildcat at Hersheypark, Grizzly at CGA, and Roar at SFA 35. Best sweet snack at a park (degree of difficulty: not Dollywoods cinnamon bread) I am a sucker for Dole Whips. 36. Kings Island is on the phone and they want you to decide what is going in the old Vortex spot. What do you add? A record-breaking B&M Flying Coaster. 37. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2020 ride) Formula Rossa will always be right at the top of my bucket list. 38. Name 3 parks you want to visit in the next 3 years. That I haven't been to? Busch Gardens Tampa, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and SeaWorld Orlando. 39. Show us how cool you are by posting a picture of yourself on a coaster or in front of coaster. Bonus points if you're holding a sign with a number on it like the nerd you are. Check out my avatar.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Looks great. Say what you want about this coaster compared to other gigas, but it definitely has the best color scheme of all of them IMO. I am a sucker for blue and white. It's so classic and timeless. -
^You may have just ridden in a different seat. Your ride experience can change drastically row-by-row, left side vs. right side, and even individual seats. Every ride on X2 is a hit or miss, regardless of time of day. I have gotten both smooth and rough rides in the morning, mid-day, and evening. With that being said, I suggest heading straight to X2 or Full Throttle in the morning. Neither is a bad choice. Both lines tend to die down later in the day, but X2 will die down more since it is less accessible and convenient. Both rides have terrible capacities. I would then head immediately to WCR. After that, just do as you please. Even though it will be President's Day weekend, I don't imagine you would encounter massive crowds. The 18th will definitely be the best day. And even if it were crowded, three days is plenty of time to hit everything in the park without a Flash Pass. Have fun! Report back!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
thrillseeker4552 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland on New Year's Day! -
Excellent report! I really wanna try to visit this park this summer. It looks amazing. Also, fun fact. If you wanna get *really* technical, the highest elevation coasters in North America all belong to Six Flags Mexico. The entire park is around 8,000 feet above sea level. But since most people don't get down to Mexico City, Cliffhanger definitely still has a "mini-record" for the U.S. Come to think of it, I actually think Six Flags Mexico is the highest elevation major park anywhere in the world.
