  1. Even though they don't need to, I would hope that SFMM would remove a ride before adding a new one, considering that they have plenty of coasters and their maintenance can barely keep up as it is.
  2. Assuming this leak is true, it looks like a fun, solid ride that will offer the capacity and wide age appeal of Cedar Point. Essentially, it's GateKeeper 2.0. I feel like doing something significant to Mean Streak was higher on the priority list than another B&M, but the layout looks fun, and hopefully it lives up to the hype of Griffon and SheiKra.
  3. Keep in mind that a lot of those classics were removed prior to Ouimet becoming CEO. That guy has really changed Cedar Fair for the better.
  4. To be honest, I wouldn't even want new RMC trains considering that TC isn't all that far away. Hypothetically, if the park replaced every inch of track on GhostRider with topper track and kept the same PTC trains, would the track still end up tearing apart? Would it feel like a wooden coaster still? I've only ridden one RMC and it is TC (IBox).
  5. So far I have only ridden Twisted Colossus, and it was freakin' awesome (and even MORE awesome when it duels!). I'd LOVE to get out and ride the other RMCs at some point.
  6. I agree with this. With Six Flags filing a similar name, and this using very Six Flags-ey animation, I could definitely see this at a Six Flags park. Considering they had success with Batman at SFFT, I think it's very likely for SF to go with a compact S&S again.
  7. While it's technically not 100% confirmed to go to Cedar Point (even though likely), that is absolutely dive machine track--no question. Edit: Oh, and I'd like to add in case some didn't notice, the lift track piece is titled on its side. If you look at the anti-rollbacks, they should be facing the other way. So that "extended" piece is going to face down towards the ground, just like it does on GateKeeper, the gigas, etc.
  8. I love SFMM. Yes, it's operations are pretty bad at times, but I go there for the roller coasters and that's it. Leave the "experience" and "family-friendly" well-rounded stuff to Knott's, Disney, Universal, Legoland, and Seaworld.
  9. Thanks for the photos! Lagoon really is a great little park. I managed to visit this summer (late June) and I really had a good time. I was a bit bummed to miss Cannibal's opening by a week, but Wicked, Colossus, and Samurai made up for it. It is definitely an overlooked park and I recommend it to anyone willing to take a trip up there. And with Cannibal open now, I'm sure it's even better!
  10. Sort of depends on the ride, but the majority of the time I prefer steel. Millennium Force or Fury 325?
  11. ...and now DarienLaker is finally happy that something, no matter how crappy of a ride, was put into 'Cuda Falls' spot! The Darien Lake thread finally turns semi-normal, but then, Darien Lake announces a brand new...
  12. Woo! Same! Currently finishing up season 6. Ron Swanson is the best!
  13. True! The person below me has ridden every type of B&M coaster (sitting, floorless, stand-up, inverted, flying, hyper, wing, dive).
  14. I posted about this time last year (see above), and our show "Only the Beginning" ended up winning a bronze medal at the SCSBOA Championships! This year, our show is titled "Time" and we are about 13 pages into drill. I'm still euphonium, playing with a section of 5. Currently sandwiched between the two weeks of summer camp at the moment!
  15. 7 Burgers or hot dogs?
  16. -Held many world records for a wooden coaster including height, speed, and inversions. -Had its loop demolished in 2006 -Went SBNO in 2009 and was removed in 2012 Twisted Colossus
  17. My tickets are paid! Now I just gotta wait. I'm missing a 4-hour marching band rehearsal for it, but I guess I can count those 4 hours towards the Twisted Colossus ERT?
  18. Although I know the reach envelopes are safe on most big rides, there are still some elements that make me bring my arms down. -Goliath (SFMM)'s tunnel at the bottom of the first drop -The drop after the high five on the blue side of Twisted Colossus -Pretty much any point on GhostRider where you are going through the structure -The low turn after the break run on Scream -Touching the trees on Jaguar at Knott's (even though it wouldn't be very painful)
  19. I mean, again consider the source, I'm a crazy fan of Kong, but in my opinion they're just right. Others certainly have varying opinions I would love it if some day there were a Kong marathon competition..I'd win for sure. This just goes to show the huge variety in opinion on roller coasters. I've never ridden an SLC, but people seem to either love them or want to burn them to the ground. There's no in-between!
  20. YES! I LOVED this game! I played it all the time on my old PC. Dang, I'd love to try it out again just for the nostalgia, but I guess that's impossible considering I have a Mac now.
  21. It's always a shame to see a classic woodie go, but that's the circle of roller coaster life. So long, Thunder Road. I understand that they are removing this for a water park expansion, but it makes me wonder how much longer Rebel Yell and Racer are going to survive.
  22. Man, this thread is making me wish I could have ridden GhostRider back when it was its best. If RMC just topper tracked that layout (no changes, and heck, keep the same trains), GhostRider could easily be in my top 5. The way it is right now is tolerable for about one ride, but then you're done for the day.
  23. Sierra Sidewinder @ Knott's
  24. I pick X2. Is is the only controlled-spinning 4th dimension coaster in the Western Hemisphere. It was the first 4th dimension coaster in the world. It has the longest trains of any 4th dimension coaster. Wild Eagle @ Dollywood
