  1. I hear we're getting a new waterslide for next year.
  2. No doubt. I so want to go to Sweden. Wildfire. That view from about 600 feet above the lake...holy crap. Actually, sorry. Griffon wins because you end up getting a birds eye view of a giant brewery. We're both wrong. You win.
  3. Wow, this is really cool getting to see the "greenhouse" part of the ride. Thanks for sharing the experience!
  4. Aside from the fact that averaging coordinates is stupid and that this guy is clearly lying about being told this by a "high level manager," the average is NOT anywhere near Worlds of Fun. Put it into Google Maps, and it's the middle of nowhere a bit southeast of Dodge City, Kansas. Or in other words, close to the geographic centre of the United States, because of course it is. This same sh*t was posted in the Worlds of Fun thread too. It's pathetic. Let's move along.
  5. Yes, all those, and Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" too. There are more than that, but those are the ones I can remember.
  6. A "high level manager" told him that the midway point between the East and West coasts is Kansas. He needed a high level manager to tell him this and not, you know, a map.
  7. Update: The woman who killed the boy this past weekend was arrested for a DWI about 30 minutes later: https://www.whec.com/news/arrest-made-fatal-hit-and-run-near-darien-lake/5028344/
  8. I went for the first time last year, and I completely agree with everything you've said here. I expected to like it, but I did not expect to love it as much as I did. Wildwood is a gem of an overpriced tourist trap, and I can't wait to go back and spend far more money there than is reasonable.
  9. Just bought my fair tickets for Thursday, so here's how it breaks down, including all taxes and fees: Fair admission and parking - $15.40 Fair midway wristband - $22.50 Kentucky Kingdom ticket - $20.14 Total - $58.04 KK is only open 4pm to 9pm on fair weekdays, but the fair is 9am to midnight. I can't find when the rides open, but most fairs are noon or 1pm, so I'd expect that here. I'm excited; never been to the KY state fair before. I had a friend in college who was from Kentucky and spoke highly of it. Should be a good time.
  10. Yeah, this reminds me a lot of Dogpatch, an hour away from and the same premise as Silver Dollar City. It's had rumours of resurrection, but nothing's ever come of it, because who wants to go to Harrison, Arkansas, when Branson, Missouri, is an hour away?
  11. Nice! That's some pretty extreme nature there. Yay for hedge mazes and TMBG!
  12. Lol, no worries. I just know for him beer man is the single most important criterion for a good visit.
  13. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2018/08/11/connor-lynskey-pedestrian-fatal-hit-run-darien-lake-state-park-concert-genesee-county/969585002/
  14. This is terrible advice. Sometimes in that time period staffing is so low they don't have a beer man. Don't risk it.
  15. And the problem with this is... Looks interesting! I don't remember hearing about this several years ago, but I like the concept and I hope they are successful with it.
  16. Yes, and the 5th century CE is 1000 years after the 5th century BCE. What is 1000 years called? A millennium. Millennium Force. Giga coaster confirmed.
  17. Wildfire. That view from about 600 feet above the lake...holy crap.
  18. You know, I hadn't thought that the barrel rolls might be the only thing outside the shed, but it makes so much sense. Now, they're teasing the number 5, which clearly is the 5th century BCE. So that giant shed with the outside barrel rolls will be enclosed in an even more giant wooden horse. What's in the in the shed that is also inside the horse? Steel Beast, the coaster you've always loved, now with more steel and more barrels rolls!
  19. No, I'm pretty sure I'm on to something. You know how Beast is better at night? Well, it's always going to be night on Steel Beast. They'll just get rid of the sun in that area of the park and instead have a moon, so as you walk over to Steel Beast it becomes night and your ride is awesome.
