It wasn't really a damper on the day. You just gotta know how to roll with the unexpected on vacation. I'll have a trip report up later, but the day was still awesome. Some people just don't know how not to let something ruin their day.

Yeah, opening and closing at this park is weird. At opening, there is virtually nothing to do but sunscreen and queue to rope drop your favourite ride. Then at some point in the afternoon/early evening, they'll announce over the PA what the closing time will be. You won't have any other notifications for it, so you have to keep an ear out for it.

Awesome! Great Adventure really is a good park if you can get past the Six Flagsiness of it. They have great rides, sure, but they also manage atmosphere too, and not all Six Flags accomplish that. My favorite of their attempts at theming is Los Baños near El Toro. Los Baños are the best baños.

Oh yeah, I just looked that up and it is going to be 220'. Cool. I son't really keep track of stats like that; I had to use RCDB to come up with that. Anyway, I'm sure they'll market the hell out of it. Tallest in Central PA, tallest ride ever built at Hersheypark, plenty of options.

Oh that's funny. I've never had a cat that would eat tuna, not sure why really. My youngest cat Claudia absolutely loves green beans from one of those frozen steam in the microwave bags.

From what I know of the park (not much) these sound like great additions for them. Incredible Pizza in Tulsa has one of those same spinning coasters and it's very popular, and of course Bigfoot in Branson has been mentioned already. CJ Barrymore sounds like it fits in the same realm as those places, so it should go over well.
