  1. One thing that charging per ride does for a park is that it basically guarantees a popular ride will never be removed, since the more popular it is, the more money it makes. Rides with huge downtime are the ones to look at, since not only does it cost money to fix, but they lose money every day the ride is down. A park like Six Flags is only going to lose money on downtime if the ride is high profile enough to keep people away.
  2. Joypolis is just the best arcade. And those pictures of Mt. Fuji are stunning. How cool to get a clear day there!!!
  3. Oh that's cool. There's a place underneath the bridge in Louisville KY called the Troll Pub. It's pretty cool.
  4. I'm pretty sure the people underneath these bridge rumours are trolls.
  5. Are there sensors in that location? I know Outlaw Run had issues with false positives its first year.
  6. ^ Same here. Drury are fantastic hotels, and the value for money is outstanding. They have better amenities and better service than a lot of higher-priced hotels.
  7. This is way more than I was expecting for the anniversary year. All of it sounds fun, especially the boat ride. Everyone loves boat rides.
  8. Looks great! Wave Breaker is super fun and the other two Sea Worlds should have a similar ride.

  10. I have a family of 5, so I do that frequently. Last Saturday was the most recent. When was the last time you cried?
  11. Boulevard's Steep Drop Coffee Stout

  13. ^ This. I'm loving the Goliath-style lift hill too. Just breathtaking.
  14. Yeah, this is the company that starts to build a new attraction MONTHS after everyone else. They absolutely could build in delays to the construction schedule, much like schools build in snow days so they can account for weather without extending the school year. Six Flags has simply built a business model where this isn't necessary. They see opening rides late in the year as a positive--they get to place "come back later to ride the new hotness" signs all over the park and that can drive ticket sales.
  15. Outlaw Run in the dark is a life changing experience. Agreed.
  16. Wow, even knowing that's fisheye, still looks ridiculous. Can't wait.
  17. Thanks everybody. We're going to need a break from theme parks but with Branson in our backyard, it's hard to get excited about any of that I-Drive stuff. If it's mostly skippable, so much the better. Gatorland was one that we were considering, so sounds like that'll be the thing to do on our rest day then. St. Pete Beach is on the list too.
  18. Carousel refurb is very exciting. Long overdue, glad they were able to make it happen this year.
  19. Not surprised, we've been waiting for this to happen for years. I expected they would tear it down the year they built Tsunami Soaker.
  20. This looks ridiculously awesome. Disney have outdone themselves again!
  21. Knoebels is the greatest place on Earth, by a mile.
  22. The mountain coasters are very fun, and there are several go kart places. If I were getting into town Friday night and had a couple hours before going to Dollywood the next day, this is the place you'd find me: https://islandinpigeonforge.com/
