I've never been to WoF on a Tuesday, but we have taken a 3 day weekend and gone on a Monday in the summer. On those days it's dead. Anyone who's there is at the waterpark, and most rides are very short waits or even walk ons. I have no idea if Tuesdays would be the same, but I would imagine they couldn't be worse.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

That's not really dumb, just shilling. -
If you can hold back a trip for HAUNT, always do it. Worlds of Fun has probably the second best event in the Cedar Fair chain and Ed only makes it better. And from what I've heard, the show is different from the Psycho Circus show. Thanks! Great info. Unfortunately I want to go the first weekend of August because Silver Dollar City is open until midnight that Saturday ...if only I could swing that trip twice! Decisions, decisions... Oh yeah, you want to go for SDC's Midnight Madness. Since all their coasters are out in the woods, night rides are amazing, and they're only available for two weeks in the summer, and on random warm days during Nov and Dec. Good choice, though I will second that WoF's Halloween stuff is pretty great.

RCDB lists a couple dozen coasters opening this year as still under construction. Gale Force is probably the highest profile to members of this site. -
My experience so far has been that ride ops have been fantastic, but food service has not. I worked in food service for 7 years in high school and college, so I've seen it all, and WoF has the same problems that any fast food place has, with employees being distracted while I'm ordering, relying on muscle memory so that I get a burger made with all the normal toppings and not how I ordered it. That sort of thing. In a job that repetitive, your brain just kind of shuts off. If you only serve four things, then you will only hear all day those four words spoken to you, so it's jarring when you hear different words. So it's not necessarily that they're dumb or lazy or not listening (though I worked with plenty of people for whom that was an apt description). The point is that even the good ones kind of get into a groove where their actions are all automatic. That's the nature of fast food service.

Well they clearly treat Cedar Point differently, but you just explained my point. Six Flags does have tiers, and the difference in them is dramatic - Cedar Fair doesn't and the superiority of that policy is evident. Six Flags doesn't have tiers. Despite what you may think thats not a thing. Ride investments are based on return on investment. For example a ride like YOLOcoaster is going to make the company more money at a park like Magic Mountain than it would at a park like SFSTL. Since the company has become financially stable in the past couple of year, larger and more "risky" investments are likely to begin in the next couple of years. Its basic business. Bingo. For any business, not just the theme park industry, "Where can we invest so that we make the most money?" is always the driving question.

Outlaw Run us much more reliable now than it was in 2013. It and Powder Keg just aren't rock solid like the other coasters, but Outlaw Run doesn't break down nearly as often as it used to. Most of the time the "breakdowns" early on were not actual problems but sensors that had been tripped. The crew is more experienced now, and they don't trip the sensors like they did in 2013.

While I would strongly recommend against going to either of these parks just for the coasters, if that is your plan, start with KK. It's on Eastern Time while Holiday World is on Central. It's an hour and a half in absolute time, but that's 30 minutes if you're going west and 2.5 hours if you're going east. Since both parks close early, and close the queues even earlier, that's the better plan of attack.

It's crowded both days. I have been on a Monday and Tuesday at the end of July, and waits for all coasters except Demon, Spacely's, and American Eagle were 45-60 minutes all day both days. If you can spare the time and don't mind waiting in lines, getting a season pass and going two days in a row can be a more economical solution for you. The cheapest season pass is $70 right now, but it doesn't include parking, which is $25 a day. The Gold pass includes parking, and that's $98, so that's actually cheaper. With two days, you would be able to ride all the coasters at least once. Lines for flat rides are much shorter than for coasters, so don't worry about those. Longest I waited for any flat was 15 minutes for Giant Drop. You can really do those as much as you want. Condor breaks down a lot, so if you see it open, go immediately. It's really fun.

Flash pass. Flash pass Oh, well then you're not going to do everything. Start making a list of what's most important to you, and make sure Goliath and Whizzer are on it. Go to Goliath first, at opening, as fast as you possibly can. After that, follow your list, and you'll likely get to ride ten things throughout the day. Stick to your priorities and you'll have a fun time.

Beech Bend Discussion Thread

Seconded all three of the above posts. Plus, they have America's only saucer slide this year. Kentucky Rumbler is definitely the best ride there, but I would definitely recommend at least taking a cursory pass through the rest of the park as well. -
There actually are some good reasons to speculate a spinning coaster, and it would fill a nice hole between Fire in the Hole and Thunderation, as well as provide an experience that's different from any other ride they currently offer. It's just that this video is not related to that decision in any way at all.

Wow, this place looks pretty cool! Thanks for sharing--it's good to see the little places that provide a refreshingly different atmosphere from the big corporate coaster parks. Those sleeping cars are a really cool idea for a hotel! -

Whatever you want to do. If you have fun counting, then count however it's the most fun to you.
