  1. ^^ I'll admit that SFoT does a better job than a lot of their other parks, but still, this is a company that is absolutely committed to being as cheap as possible.
  2. This is absolutely false, both of Covid-19 and of chicken pox. There is a vaccine for chicken pox, and therefore no reason whatsoever to get the actual chicken pox. Vaccines work, people! Covid-19 is a serious illness. No one's saying it's not. It's just that most of us on this board are North Americans or Europeans and at the moment are extremely unlikely to encounter the virus. On top of that, most people who do get the virus survive it. That doesn't mean it's not a serious illness, just that you're probably going to recover. The conspiracy theories and outright dismissal of the threat are just as bad as the hysteria fueled by a media who just want to advertise at us for their own profit.
  3. Oh wow, what a cool idea. Never seen that around these parts. And agreed on the alternate title.
  4. ^^ Wait, what? Since when did Starbucks let you bring in your own cup?
  5. Yeah, we should just shut down all of Tampa for a few months. None of the 1.7 million people living in those two counties should show go to work. Yeah really. Kind of tired of the panic over Covid-19 when there are waaaay more serious things to be concerned about, like this year's flu that the vaccine isn't really helping with, or climate change, or a thousand other concerns that are far more pressing.
  6. OMG, all of you are acting like this isn't a Six Flags.
  7. For sure. That is an easy ride to forget about, so good on them for maintaining it.
  8. Glad you enjoyed Apocalypse. I also rate that one very highly, and I rode it right after its 2016 retracking. Seems timing is key to enjoying it.
  9. Zach, I don't know either, but I would guess that with the money they bring in for the county via sales tax and hotel/motel tax (as Palmer stated), that they basically don't pay property taxes as it is.
  10. No, I haven't, even though I've been outside the USA several times. Just too much cultural stuff to see. Do you have a favourite Pokémon?
  11. Josh Ritter - "Heaven Knows" [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  12. ^ That's funny. I'm used to the swampy sticky heat like Maryland has, and I just could not handle how dry the air was at Magic Mountain. I was chugging water all day and still felt dehydrated.
  13. Oooh, a shooting dark ride would be great for Dollywood, especially since they haven't had the Flooded Mine in a while.
  14. Have you been to the desert before? Desert heat is another thing entirely.
  15. Awesome! I love the Impossible stuff, and Beyond too. I'm not vegetarian, I just think it tastes good. Glad to see them add these options.
  16. Best take on Rise of the Resistance!
  17. WB has been against possessives of their superhero names for several years now. It has to do with translation, since these movies are released globally but English is the only language that uses 's as a possessive.
  18. That's great news! I love this strategy of building enough super cool things to change the conversation. The more people associate Sea World with fun, the better off we all are.
  19. What a fun birthday! That sushi donut looks pretty awesome.
  20. ^ I agree with you to an extent. This place isn't Coney Island. However, it's pretty much the only thing in Monticello/White County that generates any revenue at all. So from a purely economic point of view, the county may find it in their best interests to find a way to keep the park open, especially if the cost to do so would be less than the lost tax revenue. A much better analogy would be Conneaut Lake Park, where the local government created a non-profit trust to care for the park.
