Yes! I was evacuated from Grizzly River Run right at the end of the course. Literally the boat in front of mine was in the station, but we had to be evac'd. Fortunately, they gave us free fastpasses for the trouble, which I used on Space Mountain! Plus, since I was evac'd at the end of the ride, I still got to experience the whole thing. It was really as positive of an experience as it was possible to be. Have you seen Moana?

Launch VS Lift Hill?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, green side of Twisted Colossus, crawling up the hill, cheering for blue train to catch up so we can duel--so much fun in a way only Six Flags can provide. -
I actually really liked it. Looks like a real step forward in animation technology, and I'm intrigued about the story just from those few seconds. It does everything a trailer should do.

I guess, using my engineering degree from Enthusiast University, that there's probably going to be basically no forces on that section of track so they've tried to save a little bit of steel and a bit of money? "engineering degree from Enthusiast University"

Brilliant! That'll pay their franchise fee for a month. As for the guy who paid that much for a giant bottle of 1,000 Island dressing...working on a new product line I know you'll love.

I've only played it on PC and PS4, but unless the 3DS port is somehow really crappy, it's very much worth $14.

Launch VS Lift Hill?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cable lifts are awesome. I love just watching the catch come back down the hill. Not sure why, it's just awesome. Launch coasters can be hit or miss. Some like YOLOcoaster or Maverick's second launch, just miss out on a lot of potential by going straight into brakes. A launch coaster with a full layout, though, is an experience like none other. I'm looking at Powder Keg, Thunderbird, Xcelerator, Flight of Fear--those are all spectacular coasters because the launch isn't just a gimmick but is a true lift hill replacement, serving the function of getting the coaster to the required speed for that layout. -
An Infinity coaster called Eurofighter--that's sure to muddy the waters. I doubt the layout will be exactly like any of the coasters in the video; seems that they used that footage in lieu of an animated layout. The elements they named will be there, but we don't know what it will actually look like at this point. Still, an Infinity coaster with those elements is sure to be good enough I think I want to stop by. I'm already planning to hit up Morey's in my PA/NJ trip next year, and this isn't too far away.

It's the same aquarium as before. Just a name change and a MASSIVE change in theming! I didn't get a chance to go to the other two but I will be visiting Wildlife Sydney Zoo in December along with Luna Park Sydney. Trip reports will be coming. Should I do these trip reports in separate topics or just keep it on this topic? Cool. Sea Life can easily be a day in itself. There aren't any set rules for TRs. Some make one giant megathread, others an individual report per trip. I will sometimes combine a couple of short trips into one report if they're close in time frame. For example, last year I went to Arkansas one weekend and Oklahoma the next, and those became one trip report even though I came home in between the two trips. So it's up to you. -

^ Agreed. Tony's the second best theme park PR guy anywhere. No one can beat Paula Werne. -

I always enjoy Merlin's Sea Life aquariums. The presentation is always superb, and they do a great job having events and educational opportunities throughout the day. Did you also go to the Wild Life and Madam Tussaud's in the first picture? -
This really isn't surprising. It had that reputation of being edgy and intense, and it just seemed like that never really resonated anyway. It'd be different if this was a beloved slide, but it really wasn't. It seems like Schlitterbahn was counting on Verruckt to bring the people in, but it had such a limited appeal that it didn't really help in that aspect. I know the Texas Schlitterbahns have a great reputation, but I've looked into going here, and it's just hard to justify when Oceans of Fun is right across town. There really isn't anything at Schlitterbahn that Oceans of Fun doesn't have already. The biggest problem is that Schlitterbahn doesn't have nearly enough things for little kids to do. OoF's three children's splash areas are a very compelling argument. This accident cannot be good at all for them when they face such strong competition, but I wish them well. Personally what would get me to go there would be more children's activities and more tube slides that we can enjoy as a family. I know a lot of you enthusiasts go nuts over the "MOAR INTENZZZZ" rides, but something not so intimidating that my 9-year-old will be afraid to go on it is what will actually sell 5 tickets. Sorry guys, we're just the target demographic for these places.

Wow...they really opened up a lot of space there! That's what I was thinking. With that much space, they could make a really great waterpark. -
Trust me, you're better off that way. Bill hates standups, and that's cool. Everybody has their own opinions. I personally thought Riddler's Revenge at Magic Mountain was pretty good. So I'd say give one a try, if you're at a park that has one, and see what you think. If you hate it, then don't ride another one. But I'd give it a shot; I'm one that always values a new experience. I'm going to Great Adventure this summer. What about Green Lantern? I'd say try it for yourself and see what you think. I haven't been to Great Adventure yet, but I also am going this summer, and I plan to ride Green Lantern, based on my positive experience with Riddler's Revenge. Everyone is different, and since standups put pressure on your legs, some people find that uncomfortable. It's a weird feeling for sure, but one I personally didn't mind.

10/10 John Oliver is just the best. Really thought he'd get the Daily Show spot, but not complaining about Trevor Noah at all. Brian Regan -

I'm still thinking it'll open in 2016. The park being closed for the season is no obstacle.
