The run in Brazil was very tough, but at least I ran! The temperature was about 88 degrees, which is about 20 degrees too hot for me. The road and sidewalks are the most screwed up I have ever seen. Dirt roads and sidewalks would honestly have been better. It was like running on a sidewalk that had been jackhammered. I saw a dead body from a car accident, almost got attacked by a pack of wild dogs, had a prostitute try and pick me up, saw a soccer match, saw some cardboard slums, and almost got ran over by about 10 cars! That was all in just one run! Definitely an eye-opening experience. Now I'm training for the Dopey challenge this January. Really struggling with the distances. Up to 12 last week, up to 14 this weekend. Definitely not running as fast as I'd like, but at least I'm burning a ton of calories and starting to lose weight!

The ribs looked amazing! I've got to get some of that Pecan rub. I have a ton of rubs that I use, and I'm always looking for another one. Can't wait to see more!

Amy ordered her iPhone 5 from Best Buy during the pre-order. We did this because we have $40 in gift cards, and they take trade-ins. My iphone 4 is barely working, so it would be tough to sell but Best Buy will take it as long as it starts up. Well, they promised it would arrive by last week but with all the supplier issues it didn't make it. I was pretty annoyed and about to cancel the pre-order but they called and apologized and gave us an additional $50 gift card. I'll take $50 for an extra week or two without it! Apple maps, for the most part, is a ton better than the old maps by including turn by turn directions, and just the way it works. I did have two small incidents with routing while in Florida, I even took screenshots to prove I wasn't a complete idiot, only a partial idiot. I also had to report a missing freeway in Reno. A new section of freeway opened up connecting Reno to Carson, yes the capital of Nevada and the largest city in Northern Nevada didn't have a 'real' freeway connecting them. Granted it only opened up 2 months ago, so it's somewhat understandable. We'll see how soon it gets updated!

Very true about the 49ers. I know Alex Smith is doing relatively well, but I really don't like him. I'm a huge 49ers fan, but never liked him. He's good sometimes, and sometimes it's like he doesn't show up. I really hope Kaepernick gets better and takes over. Of course, I'm totally biased towards Kaepernick because I went and worked for UNR when he was there, and I even graded his papers!

While all my relatives are happy, I'm so bugged the Giants are in the World Series. I was hoping the A's could go and sweep them again. Now I have to hear how great the Giants are for the next year from them.

Getting around - I also recommend park hoping. AK is a good park, but you can really be done early. We were there just a few weeks ago and stopped for lunch for an hour and still got everything done pretty early. The busses can be annoying and sometimes you may have to wait for a bit at the end of the night, but you'll definitely save money on parking and renting a car. After cruise transportation - Disney does offer transportation from the boat to resorts. Last time I checked, it was $70 per person. You can also arrange private transportation on your own. Depending on the size of your group, it may be cheaper to arrange private transportation through a sedan type service. How busy - It could be pretty busy. It's spring break time, so that can get pretty busy. I also look at the operating hours. 9-7 is usually the slowest times, 9-12 or 1am is the absolute busiest (Jan. 1, July 4th, etc.). During April, most of it is 9-10 which is pretty busy. But with FP is should be manageable. Also, what Disney ship are you on? If your doing the Fantasy, make sure you check out Robb's trip report he just posted! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63856

Never been on an Alaskan cruise but everyone seems to love them. Make sure you do a trip report, i'm interested in seeing how you like it.

Is Disney not an option? With two parks you get some fun coasters, good theming, and good shows. I agree with the above posts though, for coasters, Knott's, for theming and fun shows/activities/rides, Universal.

Not really deathly, but... X - The first time I rode it I seriously thought the ride was going to break my back. I felt like a human pinball in a steel cage. Alabama Adventure StratosFear Screamer - It looked so old and ready to break, then on our drop the tower started shaking, there was a band and the ride shuddered and one of the rubber wheels went flying off.

Yomiuriland White Canyon Closing Forever
jray21 replied to Xcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I got an instant headache just reading the name White Canyon! It is definitely top 3 for roughest coaster I've been on. I just hope they get something new and keep the park going. A lot of parks in Japan are struggling. -

The train concept art looks great! Really fits in with SDC. Although, I personally would have preferred a Cinnamon Bread themed train! -

Yay! Happy Birthday Ice Bat! -
The area looks amazing! They did an incredible job with it. I can't wait to try the new restaurant! Also, thanks for trying the Pork Shank! I've been dying to see what it looks like, and it looks really good! Definitely seems to be the right proportion, unlike the frankenstein turkey legs. How was it? Also, don't forget to repent after eating it

Sorry if this has been posted, but I just saw it today. Netflix has "The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall." It's a film of the actual musical production from 2011. I thought the performers did a really good job. It's great to see the full musical version again. Haven't seen it for a few years.

I do like Five Guys, but tend to prefer In-N-Out. I wouldn't put either of those as my top choice though. I really like Carl's Jr. Pastrami Burger (When they had it), and really like their pulled pork burger. I also like Fuddrucker's a lot, especially their Elk and Buffalo burger. I also had Wendy's the other day, haven't had them for years, and they were amazingly good! Of course, I tend to like whatever I just ate last.

This is one of the rides I am most excited to ride. Can't wait to see how good those elements are with a woodie. And even if it ends up being terrible, I'd still be at Silver Dollar City with cinnamon bread!!!!
