You ever have one of those days where you feel like you would do a better job being a leader than the one in charge? I had one of those days yesterday, slept on it, and I still woke up angry...

Zippin Pippin clone to be built in Vegas next year. -
I was disappointed it didn't give me 30 extra lives. Also, set your Facebook to English (Upside Down) or 1337.

Diabolique Watched this for a film class project and this classic is probably one of the best thrillers out there. The twist was done properly, coming literally out of NOWHERE and the film (even if its black and white and in French) manages to keep the audience's attention. If your looking for a good Hitchcock-esque thriller, I recommend this film. 4/5.

Beech Bend Discussion Thread
Homer replied to Jonathan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is good for Beech Bend, especially to stay competitive with Kentucky Kingdom essentially moving toward being a water park. I hope more big additions are in store, someday maybe another big ride that is bigger than Rumbler. -
The end of a thrilling decade.

Busch and B&M reinvigorate the Dive Machine with SheiKra sparking a trend in coasters going beyond vertical. Also assisted by the Eurofighter concept as well. Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka prove to us that a large phallus doesn't make for a fun ride. Sea World becomes more of a theme park this decade and expands with Aquatica and Discovery Cove. Before JTA and Wild Arctic (I know 1998, but close enough) there was no really big amusement attractions. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Homer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I could see the press releases now. Today Kings Island has donated several tons of firewood to local homeless shelters just in time for the holidays. "Was this Son of Beast? Yeah, well its more thrilling as firewood than a ride I can tell you that much." -
Nerdiest Coaster/Theme Park thing you've done.

I have framed posters of BGT, SFGAm, SFOG, and CP on my wall. A Spanish project I did back in high school was about doing a brochure on a Spanish speaking country and one page was supposed to be miscellaneous. I did Spain and I did a page on WBMW, Parque de Attraciones, and Port Aventura. I always doodle squiggles of roller coaster inversions on paper when I am really bored. Somehow cobra rolls and loops never get boring. -
In college, the hardest courses for me always came from really crappy teachers. Case in point, Environmental Science and American Government. Environmental Science had a hard term paper where the teacher was absolutely nuts about sources, had the "You must believe my opinion or you fail" mentality, and it reflected in his tests too. American Government because I had "Canadian Colonel Sanders" as my teacher. He's like 80, incoherent, and ends every sentence with "eh?" Also, he skips some things in his lectures and aren't in the textbook, but in the tests. I struggled with Statistics too, but I admit I kinda did "meh" on that course anyways.

Upgraded to 7, COLLEGE STUDENTS, IT'S WORTH THE THIRTY BUCKS. Sorry for the caps lock, but it needs emphasis. If you're in college (or if your lucky enough to be at a school that gives it to you for free), its worth it. Everything runs smoother, programs don't crash, and a very slick interface too.

^I'm not a student there yet, so sorry.

^Yes, lots of college campuses subsidize the cost of Windows products/computer programs for students. At the school I plan on going to, you can get Office 2007 for $5.

Getting it soon for the student price of $30. I hope it doesn't screw up any of my files, but it'd be nice to format my hard drive and start totally new again.

Here's my honest opinion as someone who grew up with Busch Gardens Tampa and made lots of visits over the years. It's great that Busch is now owned by the company I think would better handle the reigns of the Busch Gardens and SeaWorld names. I was honestly a little weary when InBev took over and basically ruined what little patriotic charm Busch parks had. The free beer was a good way of advertising and pulled visitors in. The fact that it was still American-owned was another thing I liked. My only concern with Blackstone is that now they own most of the Florida parks and I'm not sure what they will bring in now to Busch Gardens and Sea World. I'm not sure whether or not they'll add anymore rides and make the parks "animal only" and keep the thrills to Universal. Maybe I am overthinking things or being a little too pessimistic. I have confidence though that Blackstone will make the right decisions with the parks and that hopefully they will add solid and fun additions. Now if only BGT would get more flat rides, but that's wishful thinking. At least it's better than InBev.

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
Homer replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't heard anything about this rumor since it popped up, although Screamscape reported there was a meeting that happened this past week. I'm nervous about this news to be quite honest. -

Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread
Homer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What I don't get about the whole moving Chang thing is why to SFGAm instead of SFA? Sure Iron Wolf is nothing to write home about and I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years SFKK is all waterpark. -
Farm Town itself isn't bad, its the people that spam up requests like "Derp Derpman sent you an animated GIF of a palm tree, Accept this gift now?"

I'm glad Busch is keeping in with the themes of their respective parks for each of these Sesame Street makeovers. Land of the Dragons needed a good refurb and I'm glad it is getting some TLC. But now, I'm waiting for Busch to install more good "flat rides for all ages" instead of kiddie section or big coaster after big coaster. Knowing Busch, I doubt they will ever install any more flat rides inside BGT (le sigh). Again, this looks like a great makeover!
