Ha! I wasn't gunna drink before I was 21. Then the first day of college happened... And I gotta thank you guys for all the tips and suggestions, pretty much been my personal trip advisers. Especially all the tips for Monterey and SLO, being the biggest stops on my drive. Gunna be so much better than just winging it like I originally planned.

Hope the park itself isn't too crowded, I got 11 on I305 (7 of which were ERT) but the park was not very busy at all. It may be tough to beat that record, esp with so many rides there to do. And I only stopped at 11 because my grey outs were getting to like 75/80% of my vision by the end

The only, kinda, concern is if there's a legit need for this or just over reaction but Robb said it best, my friend shed 40 pounds after getting the boot from MForce and TTD, coasters aside that's just a good thing!

Necessity for me. IDK how you all feel but I hate riding alone. I mean I'll be the odd guy out in a group, but I hate actually being alone at a park. Just makes sense, why all be solo when we'll be meeting at ERT anyway? Then carry on from there! I'll do the same, PM if anyone wants.

Well: I am finally moving out, for real, this week. I'll be seeing California the first week of September, including the WCB. I should be starting school imemdiately after, to take some pre reqs so I can apply for a masters next year. Also sometimes during the next 2 months I'm gunna get to Lake Compounce again, SFNE for the first time, knock out the Cyclone and that woodie in Clementon (drawing a blank) and get to PA sometime to see my old college buds, get drunk, and hit up Knoebels...sober of course for that one. So yeah, a good few months coming up for me. And I've been feeling more confident and trying to come out of my shell, which actually WCB should help as well since I'll be seeing nothing but new people. At the moment life is good

Kayak FTW I don't need much. For $40 I thought about a hostel but figured the extra 20 some bucks isn't gunna kill and I'll take the privacy. Ha you read my mind, I was kinda hoping to tell some people Im out from NJ, just driving through CA alone taking in the sites and people and hoped someone would buy me some drinks. Esp that it'll be my 25th bday week. Yeah man I love dive bars/college bars I'm looking forward to it all. If you'll be in SLO the third PM me sometime, we can hang then as well. If not MM for sure my man.

Yeah I heard! Sadly not, I'll be there Tuesday night and leaving the next morning. SInce it's a college town I'm just gunna look for some bars to chill in and grab some good food. If I wasn't already seeing a friend in LA I'd hang there longer and take you up on the carpool. And no, since it's just me Im going cheap...Motel 6 most likely LOL Also with all us solo goers sounds like a good chance of us forming a group and hanging for the day.

Just as an FYI I will wanna hit X2, Tatsu and whatever else is night ERT during the day, because I'm impatient Thanks Andrew, yeah I decided to do it in two days and really enjoy the drive. I'll be spending the night in San Luis Obispo and head out from there to LA. Monterey will be my first major stop indeed, to fill up and it looks like a sweet town. From there I'll make random stops wherever looks cool, as well as Big Sur and probably Bixby Bridge, deff McWay falls. However, since it's the beginning of the school year, I shouldn't be too busy yet. Precisely why I mentioned. I'll be staying/hanging with a friend but he also works, I was just gunna go to SF or BS around to kill time but if you were free at all that'd be cool.

So I want to finally hit up SFNE but my friends have flaked, and it's a tad too far for me to go it alone, (and I hate that anyway) Im looking to go any weekend in August, except the last. Any takers?

You ever ride B&R The Chiller at Great Adventure? It had awful lines back in the day and the OTSR used to suck but that was a fun ride! Esp after they went to lap bars. B&R The Chiller isn't one of their new generation rides, it was built in 1997, he was talking about rides like Superman at SFDK, YOLOcoaster, Sky Rocket, and their newer coasters. Very true, and I agree I like the unique wacky new rides, but still point was Premier made some solid stuff always!

I think given the epic wait for this one if it did actually open this year we need a TPR mini trip. Also it's been waaaay too long since riding Phoenix, I don't even remember it really. Just I was really small and thought I was gunna die on it

Goliath is perhaps the one I look forward to most! Possibly Tatsu. Does SFMM ever open the park a bit before official opening? Because I'm thinking of heading to X2 right as ERT is ending so I can beat the crowds to it when it opens up.

While the schedule is always subject to change and it has NOT been finalized yet, at the moment it's looking like YOLO, Luther and Goliath in the morning and X2, Tatsu, and Apocalypse at night. Keep in mind the park is only open until 9pm that night, so you should be able to make it! Gotcha, and fair point!

Yeah that train is pretty sweet. Please open this year!

Would be great to see this place get the addition of a new coaster. I liked the park, nice lil place and Superman was a surprisingly awesome ride. As it's been said, parks can be quite brilliant fitting rides in, I hope Darien Lake does this.
