  1. I really like Blue Streak! Where did you sit? I always take back row and I always get good floater on Blue Streak! Not epic but for what it is, pretty good and it's not tooo rough. Only thing I hate is being near Raptor the line is sometimes outrageous.
  2. Well I can't hate on it...it's a family ride LOL A bit unfair to expect much of anything. I actually find it fun, but if the wait is more than 5 mins obviously I wont bother. My ranting is over, its "better than nothing" it's easier to go 45 mins here than the 2.5 hours to Hershey, (or the 9 to CP) just the park really has gone to crap, and is saved by a few really sweet rides.
  3. I havn't been yet this year. Nitro has been running poorly? That is upsetting, it was still my second favorite in the park. You are right, complete ride and was just so much fun. Even last year, I went twice and one day it was great but another it was a let down. Threw it up to a bad day but perhaps it's trending this way now I went to school in PA so I kinda made Hershey my adopted home park, I still go every year, and I try to get to CP every year so that's my vaca park, but you are right... I'm just being a bit spoiled, for many Great Adventure is probably better than what they have. Since I can go so easily I can better appreciate smaller but nice parks like Dorney even. I'll admit I'm spoiled but still most of my friends agree and prefer Hershey or CP (to those who have been to them) SHORT VERSION: To quote what was just said in the SFMM thread. I get parks as businesses, I get it. But Great Adventure makes it painfully obvious...they half ass everything if they even bother, and it's in your face they're $$ over people. I'm sure Cedar Point and Hershey are the same but it doesn't feel nearly as bad!
  4. Like I said, it was a GREAT park but it slowly went down hill, and as for the coaster selection...it's just decent IMO Great ones: Toro, KK, Nitro (though many dont really like that one) Good: Bizarro, but its not great. Batman the Ride, but its not anything unique, at all. You could come here and skip it honestly. Superman, always a huge wait and not a very good ride. Rolling Thunder, kinda crap. OK at best. Green Lantern. OK. Runaway Train, well its a mine train. Its kinda fun actually but just a mine ride. Skull Mountain, fun but well...family ride. Dark Knight: Not bad, but just a wild mouse. What really pissed me off is slowly all the non coaster rides have been removed (though only 1/3 were ever running on a given day) now it's just a few coasters, and a few rides. Overall it has a dirty feel, and other huge parks like Hershey and even CP don't feel nearly as dirty. There's little green at SFGAdv, everything is done half assed there. I really wish I could just pay per ride, so I can do the ones I want and leave. And it's sad because every year it got a bit worse... And I know everyone laments how big parks don't have that same "feel" of a small park, and I get that but really...Cedar Point doesn't feel as corporate and bleh to me, even though it obviously is a massive park.
  5. Wow. I really hate I didn't have the time to do this. Looks like such an amazing trip and some wonderful times! Great pics, Outlaw Run looks beautiful. Now I just want to go there even worse Edit: Oh and huzzah for putting to bed all the sensationalist rumors! Like no one would ever get to the park some day to find out they were untrue
  6. Intriguing, IF those plans are accurate (and generally these rumors have a good success rate) is curious what record a looper could break? Maybe this one will have 15 inversions?
  7. Oops, I forgot Batman the Ride. I do love that one, still one of the most forceful rides there are! That one can be moved also I mean the coaster selection is solid but eh...that's at best. It's a shame, used to be a great park. Irony, I still like Nitro more than the average enthusiast seems to. Fast, smooth, nice layout (love the helix) and I usually get strong/sustained floater on it. It has had bad days, but generally that's a sweet ride. It just doesn't hold up as well with all the airtime monsters that have been built
  8. Dark Knight intense for a wild mouse? Interesting, I thought that ride WEAK for a wild mouse! We didn't get the "flung out" feeling on any of the turns... Anyway welcome to my home park! It's kind of a dump with only a handful of rides open and only a few good coasters to be honest. I always said they should just take Nitro, El Toro and KK move em elsewhere and level that whole place.
  9. Hmmm...that I've ridden? I think Anaconda at KD Great American Scream Machine sucked but at least it was big and fast and did stuff so there was something to balance the crap but Anaconda is rough AND slow/boring. Another contender is Villian, at Geauga Lake. The only woodie I've ridden personally that was too rough, I just hated it and thought I was gunna die.
  10. Well, since big guys (apparently both in belly and height) have been riding without issue my 5'9" 36 waist should be fine I think it's about time to just forget all that and get back to the park and ride. I still will have a good but of vaca/sick time after WCB and it must be used by years end or I lose it. Hmm....SDC IS open in October still, and I have wanted to see St Louis for a while. Think I may just man up and go out here, looks like a fun park and I need to get on Outlaw Run
  11. It does seem that B&Ms are the most reliable coasters, in regards to running well, break downs, maintenance. While obviously Intamin coasters, well I've never been to a park and didn't see an Intamin shut down, at least briefly. They also seem to need much maintenance but as it's been said it depends how well each park does it. Also maybe the more intense Intamin rides just have more wear than the better designed, smoother/less intense B&M ones.
  12. Awesome pics! And looks like a wonderful time.
  13. That's why I gotta get those two out of the way. I only need one ride on X2 and Tatsu during the day...then I can wait till night ERT. lol superman As a kid, I was always wowed by that one, I mean it was on EVERY coaster show and we all were like "what 100 mph??? :O :O :O" Now? After TTD and KK now 0-100 in 7 seconds and going up & down...I wouldn't want to wait more than a few minutes
  14. Hm none really. There were a few I missed for various reasons but eventually I did get them all. Only ones I'll ever skip are boomerangs, vekoma SLC, or just something I know sucks like Shockwave at KD. Short wait and I still didn't ride it. Quality over quantity cred earner Edit: I took this as creds we just skipped but if any miss counts: Drachen Fire. It was SBNO at the time, and it looked so cool and twisted. We road the train past it and watched in sadness at it mocking us. I later learned how it was a torture device, someone I later met said it broke his glasses, and of course I came to learn the joy of arrow anyway... still I wish I could've ridden it just to say. Same note: Predator at Darien Lake. Was closed that day and I've never been back since. It looked really sweet but again, I've heard negative things. At least that one is still there....for now!
  15. Damn, I may harp about Great Adventure but at least, usually, operations are running fine enough. Seems like nothing but horror stories and 1 train operations out of magic mountain. What can ya do? Yeah X2 was the first to hit up but if that's the case I'll take your word, I do want to get Superman and Green Lantern done, even if the latter is torture looks fun
  16. Oh man if the headliners are just 30-45 this will be glorious!
  17. Ah yeah! Can't wait for the news. I always thought a giga would be cool, there's a huge amount of space there.
  18. Sweet, well pretty much everything I need is booked/ordered and planned out. All that's left now is to wait... When the time is near we can all get cell numbers and what not, to make the meeting up a bit easier. I have a busy ass time coming up starting tomorrow so I wont be here as much. Glad this all got figured out, cyall at the bash.
  19. That is impressive for the ride. On a similar note, I got 3 rides of Kingda Ka in a day. That was like a miracle, and all were under 30 minutes, (two under 5!!) thank you cool, rainy day.
  20. Amazing But seriously, please please open this year! Would be such an easy day trip for me.
  21. Already done: Hershey twice (in a 5 day span) - May Lake Compounce, but we were there for 2 hours and only got on B Dash once - June July was barren for me so in August & September going to get in SF:NE, LC again, Coney Island (aka Cyclone), Knoebels and of course SF:MM I'll try to get the obligatory Great Adventure trip in but I won't miss it at all if I don't
  22. Yeah sounds like that early on a Sat morning we should be fine. Still, I'm gunna be super safe and give myself at least an extra 30 mins, probably an hour. It's probably good to be early anyway, maybe meet some more people there. Coming from Harbor City guess that means a 2 hour window. If it's not needed and I get there crazy early guess I'm chilling with the ipod until people arrive.
  23. Like it was said, I may have to get X2 and tastu out of the way once, after ERT. And I may whore Goliath since I'm not totally sold on YOLO, maybe it'll kick ass though. I dont need every cred honestly, I'd skip Scream and BtR, if need be, since well...I've ridden those basic rides already.
