  1. seriously! What the hell else are we supposed to do in between park visits? And hey, ANY possibility of a coaster being neutered I take seriously, people are total wimps these days. Alas, sounds like skyrush runs as it did last year and the station improvement is huge, that thing was a nightmare. The 1 train thing could be an issue though, I mean ride is too new. They gotta get 2 running again.
  2. Yes, I was thinking the same and it might impact the speed. Which would make sense it would reduce some of the airtime that people whined about and that'd be a shame if it did Though probably just being an over analyzing nerd
  3. Have always wanted to do a skycoaster and it's never fear that's stopped me... Maybe now with a job I'll muster the extra money
  4. Nah, I love woodies and kinda hate what's happening to them now...unless it's really needed and Mean Streak is one. That thing is slow and boring. At least it had something when it was rough. After the re-profile it just is totally lame. Pretty much if it's a good ride/layout/has speed but is really rough, I can accept topper track. If it just sucks, like Rattler, Mean Streak then transform that thing!
  5. Wow, this is why animation/guessing never does justice. Thought this one looked uninspired but the pics/vid that CF put up were unbelievable. This thing looks better than Outlaw!
  6. Hmm that report of slowing over the top is a let down To answer how it ran last year, not like that...it kept full speed over the top. I really hope it gets back to that. Damn sissies that end up getting all these rides neutered : ( Yeah that's fair, El Toro feels exactly the same. But still, nothing like that feeling, especially in back!
  7. From the person with 1 post....interesting!? Besides I give credit to people who deal with us "internet lifers" without wanting to kill every single one. IDK, looks cool and hopefully its forceful but can't say I'm sold yet. Really hope the backwards part doesn't kill the pace, and think there'll be any AT on the hill? Good to keep expectations as "well see" I guess, things should go up from there!
  8. And I do think it impacts lines because, well there's only like 10 options people can go to. I refuse to ever go to Great Adventure outside of early/late season (and try to pick a dreary day to scare crowds off ) Other thing is...El Toro, Nitro, Batman the Ride, Bizarro, Kingda Ka all awesome but: Green Lantern, decent and plenty hate standings Skull Mountain, fun but family ride Rolling Thunder, OK but certainly not anything really good Runaway Train, same as above Superman, ok but sooo mild and the lines are massive. And plenty hate the superman flyers Dark Knight, a mild wild mouse? Sucks Is the park THAT great for coasters? For us NJ natives ok, but if you come from far it's pretty much to ride like 3 or 4 coasters?
  9. Yup agreed it is a great coaster park and they have indeed improved there over time. Well, new coasters will always happen but yeah they did remove the Great American Torture Machine, Viper which just sucked and was open 1/3 of the time, and the Chiller which was indeed fun but had the shortest...long waits ever. Can't say I miss any of em. As for food, parking, all that...it's a park. I expect it to be expensive and understand this. It's all the flats they removed, how the general state of the park fell into half assery and feeling dirty, having NO greenery at all for much of it, and they were always understaffed. They might as well removed all those flats because half were never open.
  10. It does look beautiful. I actually was hoping since the ride is new and is in a less populated corner of the park it would draw at least a little bit of the crowds away from other areas. Cant wait till August!
  11. Ah Robb that fancy 4th grade school learning is only good for losers, this is the internet! You're not cool until you throw grammar, sanity and shame in the trash!
  12. Long story short...they make the "business" aspect of the park industry very in your face. We all know they are businesses but at least most other parks have a nice "feel" to it, like you're at a fun place. Instead of "I am paying $60+ to ride some rides and they will be enjoyable" And it's good to feel good! Also while I can't vouch for others...great adventure has scrapped most of their flats (making lines longer and the place less diverse) it has a grungy feel, and it's waaaay over priced. I've heard the same complaints about other SF parks though, as well as poor ride management which Great Adventure actually does decently. The rides themselves are good of course.
  13. I, and surely most, have had this same question. Much as I want to say "IDK but at some point there needs to be an end" that's why technology/science/engineering is great. The idea faucet never is shut off.
  14. I think the gimmick works for this one though. Instead of that big, slow hill (though it did look cool) its a roll now, I think it'll be more fun and hold much more speed!
  15. Awww I was actually looking forward to Green Lantern. It never really flips over you say??
  16. I believe the only change is the barrel roll, and the rest of the layout is exactly the same? Just being re tracked? Hope so, I hate not being able to ride an original and I won't be making it out here anytime in 2013 And yeah this isn't original anymore with the barrel roll but whatever. I think it looks pretty sweet
  17. Hell, people being people...the restraints will probably be comfortable as clouds and all the forums and YT will still be flooded with ZOMG MY LEGS HAVE BEEN CUT OFF! Because ya know, that's what people do : /
  18. Yes, also the Superman hyper they have. I've never seen POVs from them, except one but it was obviously a "GP" using a phone and was terrible quality. I figured its like all the other morgan hypers anyway, fast and kinda ok but no AT or real thrill. Good job Robb! edit: Actually saw the YT vid, Superman has 2 airtime hills, before the lift!? So Mexico has a pretty sweet Morgan!?
  19. Yeah now that I see its unlimited that changes everything. It's well worth it even at this new price. Especially as you said not being rushed, that'll be grand.
  20. I hear this is the one for many. That I've ridden: Expedition Everest. It's certainly a family coaster because its not intense or forceful at all...but really damn fun!
  21. Yup, and we gotta be realistic. All us enthusiasts try to hit lower attendance days, but it's just not always possible! Would agree, I think a progressive scale would be better as well. With more rides available, and more usages available as price goes up.
  22. I heard X2 was ok in the front row, and after that the inside seat (though not to risk after front row regardless). Never ridden SoB or Goudurix but yeah, those seem to take the mantle. For me personally Villian at Geauga Lake is the winner. Only woodie that was too rough for me to get any enjoyment at all. That thing was a death trap. The vekoma SLC, Great American Scream Machine and Hurler are up there.
  23. And this saves a second day at the park. Esp now that I know it's unlimited. We can easily do everything multiple times in a day. So yeah, $75 is kind of a lot but cheaper than a 2n day of hotel/tix/food.
  24. Holy....I thought there was an overall limit, I mistook "20 rides" for the number of rides it allowed you a day. Which is why I thought maybe higher prices didn't justify it. Well hell, unlimited usage? That's totally worth it!! Exactly AG, for a close park I don't mind only getting 1 ride in each, maybe 2, but for a good distance trip and 1 day, I want re-rides and lots of em.
  25. Wait, I always thought you had an unlimited number of rides, per coaster, but a limit of total times FL could be used (like 20) is this accurate? It reads like you have a completely unlimited # of times to use FL...surely that can't be right?
