  1. 100% right and I'm not "against" a theme park at all. They are a great experience! Look at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, helluva place. Just simply, they tend to not have as many rides/quality ones and that is what a park is about for me. And between a really great looking and themed park that's not as good, or a drab park that has better and more rides, well as it's been said not paying for theme!
  2. Yup, it may not be what we wanna think about since these places are for fun, but they are businesses after all. And with the new "plus" they have this year. At first was kinda miffed the biggest 2 are now extra, but it's a pretty good idea all around. TTD and Gatekeeper are gunna be the biggest lines, and cause the biggest issues with fast lane...so this will either reduce the # of people buying, or simply they will pay more for the service for the 2 biggest rides.
  3. Precisely. Sorry to those but yeah, I'll be coming from 9 hours away, staying for one day only...wanna maximize my enjoyment. Also while it's alot and even more now...beats paying for a second day of hotel, park tix, and food! That being said....$50 was quite reasonable but $75 just feels like a lot. For singlers, $90? Way too much for me but gives incentive to not be a loner
  4. Could be. Also maybe just economics. If that many people bought it, can raise the praise. Could be a $$ grab but as it was said may price many out and reduce the number bought. Which would make the people happy and maintain profit. Wait...trims? Forcelessness? Please, don't tell me Gatekeeper is trimmed? D:
  5. Amusement parks. Really, it's all about the rides for me. If you have a theme park with great rides than that's awesome! Great theming is a wonderful thing. Theme parks tend to be smaller though and have not as great rides. So give me the corporate whores of Cedar Fair, Six Flags, and Hershey
  6. Honestly, NJ is a pretty great place. For me: SF:GA 45 mins away Dorney Park 1 hr 10 mins away Hershey 2ish hours Lake Compounce is just a couple of hours SF:NE just an hour past that It's not a hop away but Kings Dominion is 5 hours from me, an easy weekend trip. Even Cedar Point can be done in a 4 day weekend, or 3 if you do just one day. PA is another good state, and puts you closer to CP... really anywhere in the Northeast is good, but NJ is nice since we're right in the center. Naturally FL and CA are the other obvious ones.
  7. Gunna hit Kennywood up in May, what can I expect in terms of crowds?
  8. Thanks. Yeah that's the way to go. Gunna get the cheaper pass and just try to get GK and TTD done in the hour early/ASAP.
  9. Anyone know if Gatekeeper will have the hour ealry access? Someone says no but I swear they said it would/that wouldn't make sense. Edit: Those fat boy seats will make my friend happy, won't have to smush all his fat around to fit! And yes, the price jump took me by surprise but I not longer care, and just am excited to get to CP again and ride Gatekeeper! Gunna try to make it there twice this year because I feel like a madman
  10. Outlaw Run. Really can't make any real difference without riding them, and both will be nuts, so I'll leave it up to layouts, which I like Outlaw Run's better. Also Seconded
  11. Longest: Kingda Ka. Broke down twice when we were 8 rides away...total wait was 3 hours. That was due to break downs though, the actual longest straight up line ever was El Toro during fright fest. 2 hours 45 mins. Batman & Robin the Chiller may have been the worst/slowest. One train shuttle, and had a slow loading time. Even a tiny line would end up 30 minutes and back in the day when it was really popular...oh boy
  12. Pretty quiet, but I guess closest to laugher, as I just kinda giggle usually. That's me natural, I'll throw in whoops and etc sometimes if its just a sick ride. Only scream when it sincerely happens, which is rare and usually when a ride catches my by surprise like El Toro or Skyrush. That -2Gs the first time had me screaming for dear life
  13. Yeah I just checked for 4 people and it'd only $60 per person then (I've never had a fast pass before total n00b!) Well, with the hour early access we can knock out Gatekeeper and TTD and save the cheaper pass for all the other rides. Yeah, I still wanna do it because we are staying one day and that's just not enough to get everything done, and we'd like multiple rides since we're coming 9 hours away in my case lol! What can ya do? Supply and demand always wins. Well to be fair ST, we can't go on a Friday...we are poor kids recently out of college and have limited $ and vaca days. (Plus other things and one of us has a wife) First August weekend is pretty much only time we're all free/will have the means. We're still getting them fear not. Oh and I needa save a few bucks for a fast pass on WCB
  14. $75? Sheesh... And TTD and Gatekeeper are not included and require the more expensive one? God damn it. Well, that kinda sucks, 50 a person was at least acceptable but that's quite a pretty penny, and while we try to go on quiet days the onlt time all 4 of us are available is early August...Gunna be packed then right? And it really sucks my friends are so impatient, over 45 mins = no good for them : /
  15. Gatekeeper easy. I'm sure YOLO will be fun and am excited for it this Sept, but Gatekeeper is longer, that alone is the answer. It just does so much more. Also depends how YOLO handles the backwards launch...it could be a real pace killer.
  16. You mean the I Box treatment? The obvious one is Mean Streak. It actually wasn't very rough now after the reprofiling but that took away ANY thrill...it's just a boring, uninspired ride in itself. I'd say the RMC treatment would only make it a bit better but NTG begs to differ I guess. Honestly, I like a shaky even rough ride. I do kinda fear eventually the traditional woodie will be dead, and those that remain will get the I Box. A few could certainly use the track topper though: Hurler, and from what I hear: Gwazi, Ghost Rider, Boss
  17. Yup, clones count as new creds but not relocations! And I LIVE in NJ so how about I get quad cred per ride? Yeah, this looks like a sleeper hit for 2013 IMO. I think it'll pack quite a punch and should have some decent airtime. Looks really nice too < 3 GCI is upping their game, and glad to see the traditional woodie hang around while they continue to be closed/remodeled!
  18. Thanks Lareson, huge help! I'm working on launch coasters finally, 2 questions: 1. How do you get the train to come to a stop, then launch? And the real biggie 2. Can you make a backwards launch? I've made a shuttle type coaster that I want to launch out of the station backwards. I checked the "Reverse Cable Lift Start" assuming it would leave the station backwards, but instead of a lift it'd launch (by putting the speed at a good number). Instead it just leaves the station forwards. EDIT: OK so I made a small lift segment, with a high speed and a transport section behind it, accelerating further. It works how I expected but comes to a dead halt, I think when it hits the lift segment again. Though it shouldn't? So is it even possible to do a backwards launch?
  19. Yes. And I've heard of the horrid load times at SF:MM? If so, seems like a bad idea. Anyone know if it'll stop, and launch the third time, that'd be crazy awkward. Hopefully it auto launches in the tunnel after it falls back forward. Yeah what they^ said, it'd kill the pace totally.
  20. Ok the pics are pretty sweet. Still dont think this will be more than a "good" coaster, but it doesn't seem as lame as I first imagined.
  21. Pretty cool, though will it make much difference? Well they will be more comfy but what about airtime? The ride is the ride, reckon there'd not be much diff in AT like some have said
  22. White Lightning could be a sleeper hit! Not that it will touch Outlaw Run or iRat or Gatekeeper but I think it's looking like a pretty awesome ride!
  23. Inclined loops? No I do not. 135 just doesn't seem enough. I can accept 150 but for me personally, eh...not that the number matters, except for The Smiler which better have 15! The Bandit eh? Not bad but all are weak when compared to The Comet at Hershey Park. Now that is a ride that splits your soul open
  24. Cool indeed but well known to any regualr SF:GA go-er. In 2000 there was the "25 ride OMG expansion" and slowly all of which have been removed then the process continued and there's even less than before! Which is why despite the coasters I haz such a sad at my home park. How I love spending 9 hours to ride 6 coasters
  25. If anyone wants a nit pick to "balance" out the love fest this ride has been getting... "3 inversions" le sigh.... Sorry but to be an inversion it needs to be 180 degrees. Otherwise where is the cut off line? Granted I never expected to see a day where we'd see 153 degree banks. But yeah 2 inversion! And I still wet myself with excitement and sadness of how I wont be there anytime soon!
