  1. Now that'd be awesome I've always wanted to see a Traver Cyclone re made. I figured it'd be much better designed today and with better technology. Can we rebuild the Rye Airplane Coaster while at it?
  2. Usually first park I hit up is Hershey in May, so most likely Skyrush
  3. Nice! I've always wanted to see Mexico and this will be a nice cherry on top. Can't wait for 2015!
  4. I LOVE that red RMC track. Some griped I know (shocker) but I think it's just so slick. And that roll into a drop < 3
  5. The older ones are rough. I've never ridden Gwazi but I hear it's a death machine. Wildcat at Hershey was known for it's roughness but it used to be just right....in recent years it's gotten a bit gnarly. The newer ones though are beautiful things and now they seem to breaking out of their old mold which is nice to see!
  6. Well, I've only been on 3 stand ups: Mantis, Green Lantern and Riddler's Revenge. Mantis is meh Green Lantern is kind of sucky Riddler's was pretty sweet. What's weird is I can't really put my finger on why, though many others had the same opinion of them so I don't feel alone at least! Anyway, what makes a "gimmick"? Aren't most new things (Im talking in life here) a gimmick? Floorless totally was, there was zero difference in those rides and I never personally got any different feeling. Standers certainly give a unique sensation These wing riders seem gimmicky to me, what is ones innovation is another's gimmick. Aaaaaanyway, I don't really think there's much to get or not. The unique riding position can make it pretty rough, yet the rides also can be kind of bland. I'll say it was a fun experiment, (gimmick if you want) but just a terribly good idea. There's probably a reason we havn't seen one in ages! I did like Riddler's though, was pretty smooth and actually had force : O and I've heard Georgia Scorcher was pretty awesome too.
  7. Yeah I was pretty shocked how few I had! Well there were some more I've ridden that have been torn down but yeah, crazy how steel dominant my list is! I was pretty let down by Apocalypse. It seemed like a fun ass ride, and while I liked it...I can't believe a 5 year old GCI was that rough already (lightning racer has barely worsened at all) and the one train operation didn't help
  8. For me...Vekoma I know I know, how uninspired. I just think they suck. Not saying there's not a few good ones, but ugh...and they have so few claims to fame. Pretty much the boomerang, SLC (which are painful as hell) and the Flying coaster. But yeah I avoid Vekoma's even if it means missing creds! However, there are clearly worse ones, I've just not been on any (or enough) ones like Togo, RCCA and whoever makes all the various Chinese knock offs
  9. This is correct. Had the strongest ejector I personally experienced (until it was topped by Skyrush) and has a pretty out of control feel. When I first rode it the 90 degree figure 8 section blew my mind. Many here know I'm a basher of my home park, but El Toro I could ride all day
  10. Dang, what a shame. Hope they re-track the entire thing or give it one of the various RMC treatments (yeah in our dreams Im sure). Well not like I'll be out there anytime soon. Not to derail, looking forward to the results
  11. YES! Finally. Hope they do the steel poll again after bringing it back last year. Excited to see where Outlaw Run, Goldrusher and White Lightning land. Wow Robb, Hades last?? And I've always wanted to ride that one so bad! I have high tolerance for a rough ride, but that thing must really be awful. Anyway, I see now how few woodies I've ridden, 19 out of my list of 93? This must be remedied in 14. 12. You might be a coaster nerd if... You frequent a roller coaster forum, obviously If you have planned trips around an amusement park? But didn't wanna admit to others going that is why so you just kinda "throw it in" as part of it. I am quite guilty of it Edit: Ninja'd, glad I'm not alone!
  13. Cant really say I care, though of course there are the reeeeeeeally creepy ass bronies.. My main beef was how they literally took over the internet. ANYTHING you can think of, (roller coaster, ferrari logo, uh...bill cosby) name it and it's been bronie-fied already. Also it was such a hipster fad in real life, everyone was "into it" for the fact that college age guys were watching MLP just because.... but would never admit it, or they did it to impress their GFs
  14. 10/10 I honestly LOL'd when I read it (no one likes or even gets my name ever haha)
  15. I was denied by the Masters program I applied to, so a bit down at the moment, but tomorrow is Friday, pay day, and going out for my roomies bday with a bunch of old friends so I'm quite excited for that!
  16. Lightning Run...looks like one of those chance/morgan hypers (checks, it is!) but it has a different layout :O Nice. Hope it'll have some more AT than the usual!
  17. While I love Hershey, (it's prob my fav park in terms of overall experience) the food is nothing to brag about. I prefer going to Sheetz
  18. I know! I procrastinated too but now I put my deposit in and I'm on the wait list. I really enjoyed WCB 2013 and hope I can make a TPR tour in 2014. For mini new hotness? My face is super red about it because I was so excited when I saw the email announcing it, hits so many of my "most wanted" parks and coasters so I really goofed WCB was indeed a great time. Would be awesome!
  19. Nice. Really do love the color, gunna be a very visually appealing ride!
  20. I do feel both are over rated, fun but just such a short burst! They are great if you get there soon as the park opens (or the hour early at CP) and can grab a few minute wait, if not I usually don't bother. I do like TTD a bit better purely because of the restraints. Where you sit regardless it'll be fine, KK you need to be as far front as possible since the back gave me a decent thrashing. I agree with coasterbill. Front row on KK was just insane. I never really wait for front but that is one time I will make an exception.
  21. Yikes, that is majorly but to be fair, I've been pretty busy since September. Can't say I gave anything park related a thought until the email from Robb that reminded me! Sorry for having a life That is awesome! I am miffed I goofed, would've loved to get out there in October but eh, next year! Hope it's as sweet as it looks. Also, TPR trip out there next year pls?
  22. Wait, wuuuuh? Flying Turns is definitely going to open? Wow, Knoebels has been bumped from "would really like to do" to "1000% yes" Cant wait
  23. If I get a spot on it: the mini new hotness tour hands down Definite - SF: NE I hate myself for missing it year after year, but 2014 it happens or else I burn my enthusiast card Also am excited to get to Lake Compounce again to try Boulder Dash not in the cold and rain (I hope that was why it wasn't as air timey as I expected ) and Knoebels for the first time in 12 years.
  24. Not really. I believe Skyrush was already mentioned as the obvious one. I think it's really about quality of POV, where the camera is and sound/secondary factors. When I saw the original POV for Outlaw Run it looked cool, ok it looked really cool, but I wasn't terribly wowed. Then I saw the vids with people on it and holy cow was I wrong. Also I do try to avoid POVs for rides I may hit that year but I always fail!
  25. I imagine size and $$ are the reasons why.
