  1. You'd be better off emailing the creator of openRCT2 than annoying park management about a hummingbird themed ride. Glad to hear Dollywood is considering a lift hill. I just hope they don't try anything innovative, to be honest. Just keep it simple so people can expect the ride to be open. Make a tribute to the old lift by doing an eternal flame near a "This ride is temporarily closed" sign..... It may have been worth the drive just to see all of the coaster people get upset at the answer to the lift hill question. Side story: When I was a kid my friend shot a hummingbird with an airsoft pistol. Although I was sad, I couldn't help but admire the skill I witnessed.
  2. The content here is moderated and you actually have to read to get information. There's no clickbait of spoon fed, often false, that caters to the modern day low attention span. Getting rid of social media on my phone and turning real paper pages of novels has helped my attention span. It's also amazing how much time I have saved, leading to productivity. I also realized two things about sharing snaps of vacation, possessions, etc. First, most people don't care. Secondly, it can often be an unintentional, or intentional, form of boasting. "Look at me, I'm at a beach house." "Look at me, I got a new car." "Look at me, I'm riding all of these cool roller coasters." I do often miss SnapChat, but I know I'm better off without it. Luckily, I refused to ever get Tiktok, because of it's addictive qualities.
  3. I'll take the snakes dude. I'd rather drink beer with him. but I think you got trolled.
  4. Just spent like over $300 for fucking Dixie Stampede tickets. Kids. Front row upcharge so I can smell the animal shit.
  5. Since everyone else said it, I'm going to add that this really fills the gap between Howler and the other roller coasters.
  6. I miss the days where there would have already been 10 picture posts and a lot of comments about the ride the day after it opened. We're a dying breed.
  7. It's possible, but you never know if there was a last minute "oh shit" moment that caused the delay.
  8. It's not relevant to how important it is. It matters if they paid money under the pretense that they would have the opportunity to ride before the general public. I can see a reasonable person not being happy about that.
  9. https://fox4kc.com/news/emotional-roller-coaster-promised-first-riders-of-zambezi-zinger-say-ride-has-already-been-used/ Lol yeah... That's kind of bogus.
  10. I like that guy's non-technical narration better than most coaster videos I watch. No cringe.
  11. They have white water rafting trips there that only take a few hours, from parking your car to leaving. I highly recommend it.
  12. Maybe Holiday World's coasters will be tolerable now after a few beers.
  13. Mother. Of. God. Now, I'm actually excited for our trip later this month.
  14. ^First thing I thought about, too. lol So he wasn't talking about the International Race of Champions? Sometimes it's nice just to walk around the park with your coffee. That, and you can snag one of the first few trains of the day one of the coasters that opens with the park.
  15. Google SF, CF, i-rat, SteVen, RMC, WoF, SFFT, I-box, LSM, OTSR, FL+. There are endless acronyms and abbreviations used on this site and in this hobby that probably won't come up on Google. Sorry if I just thought this was another one of those. Sometimes it's easy to tell who has never been punched in the face.
  16. Lol infuriating? So you can't have just one great roller coaster at the park set up to where it's a little more even between non FL and FL? Deep breath. It's fine.
  17. If I ever told someone I was a "thoosie" I would hope they would have enough dignity to never talk to me again.
  18. The hell is a thoosie? No shit? This project. Still always. And forever. Hilarious to me.
  19. It's not so much bitching about it as it is purely making fun of the park. It's just laughable at this point. One month each horse? Cool. Bring in more people to do the job. Again. This is Six Flags. Relatively no one cares about this grand carousel. At the Smithsonian, people will actually pay attention to it, because they visit to appreciate things like restoration. The juice ain't worth the squeeze at a Walmart theme park.
  20. That's the modern standard, Steve. A church I attended when I was a child was completely refurbished in about 6 months, inside and out. It's massive. Original artwork throughout the huge insanely tall ceilings. Every pew was refinished. The stained glass was repaired. There was remodeling of areas. All of the stonework on the outside was cleaned. New concrete was added to the front. All while we used it. In half the timeline the carousel has taken to be refurbished: -Businesses from the ground up have opened in my town. -A massive park with a, splash pad, and play playground has been a behind my house. -Multiple roller coasters have been constructed -A new fire station was planned and constructed in my town. -I started a new position at work, got fully trained, left that job, started another one, and am already familiar enough with it to be training others. -I've owned four different cars -And I've had four family members die... Oh, and I just learned that the cars are on the track at Indiana Beach for a roller coaster that killed someone, was dismantled, completely refurbished, and reassembled in another country. Wasn't Kentucky Kingdom refurbished in less time, including the construction of a new roller coaster? Lastly, I can imagine the Smithsonian is going to put in a lot more work on their restoration than SFSTL is. Yet, people want to tell me that I should feel unreasonable, just because another carousel is taking a hilarious amount of time to refurbish? Nope. Don't care. Sorry. I've eaten a lot of crow in my life, but I'm not settling for this as a "gotcha" moment.
