  1. Still jammin to Eat the Cat with my daughter.
  2. Not every park can be Kings Island, Knoebels, or Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Seems like we're getting the worst of both worlds from the merger. I suppose it's really early in the game.
  3. I wouldn't invest in shit in South Korea at this point.
  4. I can appreciate the honesty. I bitch about plenty I continue to do...
  5. Get new hobbies....... SFStl is my home park, so I don't really feel bad for people who visit Great Adventure. Especially since other awesome parks are so close. Our carousel has been hilariously undergoing refurbishment for over four years. Our last thrill roller coaster we got in 2013 was a 27 year old used boomerang from SFoT. Prior to that, it was a small-mid size GCI in 2008, American Thunder. Meanwhile, parks like Great Adventure and Magic Mountain get new additions constantly, which I suppose doesn't stop the parks from being shitholes for the American Family. In addition to all that, we weren't named on the new investments statement. Getting rid of the skyway is dumb. That's a good classic family ride. I wouldn't think it's too hard to maintain.
  6. It would be nice if new management reviewed this project, scratched their heads, and said, "Why don't we just quickly outsource the labor on these fucking horses this off-season and be done with it?"
  7. Maybe so, but there's no obligation to communicate with park fans or enthusiastic guests at all. I'm not necessarily speaking about you, but enthusiasts seem to think they're owed something such as last rides or up-to-date information. This is just a vague announcement to save face with consumers to tell them they aren't just intending to remove a bunch of rides without replacing them with something worthwhile. They don't owe us shit. Who's everyone? Enthusiasts? So they mildly upset a few people by strategically running a business?
  8. When was the date the carousel closed? I'm trying to figure out if Universal Studios Epic Universe will take less overall time to finish. It looks like land grading started in 2019. But, the project was halted during the pharmaceutical industry's most profitable pandemic. I don't think anything went vertical until 2021. I wonder if being reasonably objective could entertain the actual construction of Epic Universe taking less overall time, without the need to consider land clearing. Or, at least the suspension of the project should be deducted from the overall construction timeline. Regardless, it's not outlandish to consider the possibility of the refurbishment surpassing the overall project length, including the planning. There might be a few different camps here. 1) The refurbishment length is only unreasonable if it surpasses the overall time it takes to complete, starting from Epic Universe's planning and construction timeline. 2) The refurbishment length is unreasonable only if it surpasses the overall time it takes to complete, starting from Epic Universe's ground breaking date. 3) The refurbishment length is unreasonable only if it surpasses the overall time it takes to complete, starting from Epic Universe's ground breaking date excluding the construction delay. 4) The refurbishment length is unreasonable only if it surpasses the overall time it takes to complete, starting from Epic Universe going vertical and constructing an entire theme park. 5) I have too much pride to admit that it's taking too fucking long. I know we've already unanimously established that the refurbishment process is still reasonable if it surpasses the length of time it takes for a roller coaster to kill someone, get purchased, be dismantled, be restored, reassembled, tested, and opened. It's portable. I'm also curious if Top Thrill Dragster 2 will close, go SBNO for a year before construction begins on a massive rear vertical spike, get redesigned, open for a few weeks, close again for a season, and then finally reopen to the public in less time it takes for the carousel to finish. I suppose sanding, applying filler/bonding, painting, and reinstalling takes time. Probably even longer than it takes to completely design new trains, fabricate thousands of parts, have to redesign after taking an in depth analysis, fabricate more parts, and then reopen to the public. I know I'm a little late for Veteran's day. But, I just wanted to thank everyone on here who graduated high school, joined the military, been deployed, fought a war, returned, and successfully discharged in about the time it's taking to finish the refurbishment of our carousel.
  9. Correct. At least we can cross our fingers for some ride removals, though.
  10. This is rich. Business Wire: "Six Flags to Invest More Than $1 Billion Over the Next Two Years to Enhance Guest Experience" 2027 is our year, though.
  11. This is just another thing people never fully appreciated until they found out it was possibly going to be gone.
  12. I don't think I've ever waited for more than a few trains on Outlaw Run. It's wild.
  13. omg I forgot about that dude. Long live SFSTL.net.
  14. We've been saying that forever. There was only one person who said "corporate hates our park." We're just still making fun of him.
  15. There's so much to do in Saint Louis that I think Six Flags gets overshadowed just about year round. Fright Fest is the exception. It's thrilling. As much as I enjoy family attractions, they're everywhere now. Not to mention, things like Grant's Farm and the Zoo are free. If people want to fork out money, they can go to a Cardinals game or Blues game during the winter. Even soccer has gotten big, since STL is a huge sports town with great fans. You can't forget about City Museum, too. It's hard to compete with the craft brew and bourbon market for adults, since our area is saturated with popular microbreweries and great culinary options. Winterfest gets lost in the mix of the lights at the Zoo, Garden Glow, Union Station/Polar Express etc. Being on the outskirts doesn't help. The Japanese Festival and the Zoo's events absolutely crush Six Flags' quality. We went to some kind of light up balloon fest at the zoo and it was elbow to elbow. You can construct as many future neglected planters as you'd like. Spruce up the shitters. Add some more mediocre restaurants. None of that has been drastically increasing attendance, as far as I know. We need a big ride. Something to bring people to bring thrill seekers to a park that has always been focused on thrill seekers. Joker is a start, but it's a far cry from what needs to happen. KI really started to turn the page after Diamondback and Banshee. It's been a madhouse since Mystic Timbers and Orion. They brought in the crowds first, and then worked on beautification. "Corporate doesn't hate us." There's just not as much potential at our park. It makes money. Consider it the conservative investment that isn't worth fucking with.
  16. I don't get it. What are they doing, exactly?
  17. It showed up on the feed. It sounds like we're on the same page, Bert. She needs to be done. There's absolutely no reason she should be able to express even a hint of her beliefs without being judged, because she shouldn't be judging people for who they are.
  18. Yeah. Cancel her for her beliefs. She needs to be silenced.
  19. Steve, I believe that actually may be more realistic than just, "we're still working on filling, sanding, and painting." One is way more of a reasonable excuse than the other.
  20. Probably not enough to matter in the long run. SF now knows exactly how much money they can save by not operating the ride after dragster has been down for so long. The first year of it being SBNO probably saved them a ton of money with no loss at the gate. CP took the gamble and lost in the short term. They may not be willing to do it. If they close Ka, it will make TTD even more unique again. SFGadv has received plenty over the years to offset these a rough ride and a maintenance headache. I wouldn't feel sorry for any of the guests. Taking something like Fury away from CW would be a much greater loss. I'm sure there will be a replacement. Parks like MM, KI, CP, AFGAdv always come out smelling like roses.
  21. I deleted the post. I can't find anything to substantiate it anywhere else but in one video.
