My wife and I will be in the area Thursday - Sunday next week. We're going to Carowinds during the day Saturday, and Scarowinds at night. Was Charlotte badly impacted by the hurricane? I'm assuming it wasn't considering the web was still showing the park was open. Our plan is to go to the park for a few hours at opening. We'll leave for chicken wings and beer mid-day and return to the park at night. How far in advance should I buy fright lane/fast lane? Has it been selling out? What are the wait times with fast lane during Scarowinds like?

Not sure how your weather forecasts go, but I always find if they predict a 40% chance of rain on Friday, it actually means 20% on Saturday. Go for it.

Yeah Kim, but don't they say that with every new GM? It would be hard for them to spin it any other way. I think Dave was one of the true outspoken GM's that said he wanted a new large roller coaster along with the general improvements. I think we would have been a perfect fit for the new tilt coaster that hadn't found a home, but the powers that they could fit it in like a puzzle piece at Cedar Point. Maybe they're holding out for the hybrid RMC conversion of The Boss that has made sense since New Texas Giant. Like Kim said, the roughness needs to be addressed. Or, maybe they could start advertising it like a rough piece of shit like Kentucky Kingdom did with T3. It worked for a couple years... not really. I haven't been on The Boss for years, though. It's still easy to believe what everyone is saying.

Or winter. I don't like this addition. There's a strong possibility that will change when I see the finished product. I'm hopeful for that, as I bring in my 40th birthday at the park. I'm not saying this from a "roller coaster enthusiast standpoint." Meaning, I'm not complaining that Cedar Point should have gotten something better, or that it's not extreme enough. It checks those boxes. I'm concerned this seems out of place with the last few years of attempted cohesion. Plop something down on a flat piece of land and give it a name. Let's hope the themeing is more than 2D cutouts. Are there even plans to demolish Snake River Falls? I hope so. Otherwise, it's going to be SBNO style like typical Six Flags. I don't relate this to Dragster's project where there were goals to return the ride and make it more reliable, as if anyone thought that was going to happen. My enthusiasm quickly turned to apathy. Now, I've fully transitioned to pessimism.

Does anyone feel like this was the first real Six Flags move done to a Cedar Fair park? It concerns me about how little planning and thought went into this. Of course I don't have all of the information, but rumor has it this was meant for SF Mexico, but that didn't pan out, right? Seems to me like they just found the first piece of flat land available and fit it in. I just can't help but to think of how SF STL, Valley Fair, or WoF could have benefitted from this impromptu decision while avoiding running the risk of the flag ship park being generic. I could hear the sinister deep Six Flags announcement guy in my head when I watched the video. Just my $0.02.

Good to hear. Hopefully the fog stays around next year. Cedar Fair is better at maintaining that stuff, so there's hope.
