  1. Those look massive. Thanks for the pictures. Keep em comin.
  2. Oh wow. Even in just a few pictures you can tell how Herschend has put its touch on the park. They really kind of charmed KK up, I suppose. Are a lot of those signs new?
  3. STSTL. The longest carousel refurbishment.
  4. I'll take all of that and raise you the carousel at Six Flags Saint Louis.
  5. There's still hope. I choose optimism, for once.
  6. I hope somehow the actual height of the ride is only 299 feet, but the drop is over 300 feet.
  7. Thinking about it now, I wish I would have researched this. If the cost was within a few hundred dollars I would have purchased a ticket. Sucks.
  8. Yeah. I'm starting to be in the same boat. Maybe this is what happens when you take a ride that already has problems due to its complexity, and try to find a fix by making it even more complex with a less experienced company for such extreme rides. Top Thrill 1 was a massive success and a crowd favorite. It seems like they would have been better off just sticking with the hydraulic launch. They could have changed the flag plate design and put safety nets between the queue and break run to counter any negative PR. Top it off with new paint and minimal themeing upgrades.
  9. All of the mass on these pendelum rides is what scares the shit out of me. When I recently rode Joker for the first time at SFSTL, it gave me rational fears of something like this happening. The other thing I always worry about, which is not so rational, is the ride somehow building enough speed to do a full loop leading to catastrophic failure. Honorable mentions to rides that make me nervous are extreme launches for the insane chest/stomach tickle, wind seekers where I worry about the bolt sheering off, and drop towers... because drop towers. I'm becoming a real pussy the more I focus on my daughter and the less I ride the big kids rides. It's actually kind of cool reliving nervousness and adrenalin on rides. Riding less in full blown adulthood has been more for me.
  10. StarCraft/Broodwar (remastered) Counterstrike Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
  11. One of the few rides that legitimately kind of scares me.
  12. Do you think there's any chance it can be saved? I can't remember if there were any announcements or reports of you finding out.
  13. Great Chase may get relocated. SFSTL could benefit from this but, it may cost more to bother with it than building a new one. Ragin Cajun may be in a similar boat. The question is if it's cost effective to save them. Consider the cost of transporting them, land clearing, pouring new footers, and building new stations. Both of them are just short of carnival rides. Likewise, Superman would be a gigantic project to move and you'd have to find a pretty flat large piece of land for it. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them get moved. The only real possibility would be SFSTL getting getting a used SLC.
  14. We've really seen some good coaster additions lately, all the way from the families to the thrill riders.
  15. I never thought about lighter crowds as a potential consequence.
