  1. They just need to announce a closure for a complete restoration of Screamin Eagle. It would make for one hell of a 2030 season.
  2. Depends, I guess. I think a lot of families take at least one low key day to relax and take advantage of what the resort has to offer. We're only doing four days in Orlando this summer, but we purposely chose a place with a great pool setup for a slower paced day. I still think this hotel has plenty of appeal to the DINK demographic looking to take full advantage of the parks. There's less need to pace yourself with that kind of lifestyle. If you do choose to have a chill day, a nice cheese free adult'ish pool with clean lines and less kids fits the bill. We would have placed a lot of consideration in a resort like this years ago, for the reasons I mentioned. In the modern, "don't have kids, they'll ruin your life" era, there's a market for this kind of compromise.
  3. I'm not talking shit, but it strikes me as funny how the new chef will be offering... burgers, pizza, and chicken fingers. How novel.
  4. If the rides get scorched and mostly ruined, I'm sure they'll just ship one or two to SFSTL.
  5. The previously announced Georgia Surfer, scheduled to open in 2025 will now be known as the Georgia Gold Rusher with an updated theme and color scheme. https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/attractions/georgia-gold-rusher Georgia Gold Rusher - The New Gold Standard for Fun Six Flags Over Georgia has struck gold! The all-new Georgia Gold Rusher includes the first of its kind free-spinning gondola riding experience, delivering the ultimate thrill combo of a high-speed, high-elevation ride with twists, turns, and exciting water features. For more information and launch-day updates, follow us on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and join the conversation using the hashtag #GeorgiaGoldRusher. Georgia Gold Rusher’s Backstory “There’s gold in them thar hills!” Georgia’s gold rush in the 1880s brought prospectors from far and wide to extract the precious ore. One such miner was William “Willy” Gibson, a young, smart entrepreneur with a wily streak. With thoughts of “work smarter, not harder,” Gibson figured out a way to avoid the hard work of manual labor to mine gold. He used a steam-powered hydraulic excavator. The giant machine slugged forward and backward through a huge water reservoir, twisting and turning the dirt below with the hopes of loosening valuable gold from the soil. It worked beautifully—and offered folks a refreshing treat, too. Sometimes when townspeople needed a break from the hot Georgia sun, Gibson let them cool off with a thrilling spin on the machine. Riders enjoyed refreshing mist of water as the mining sled careened up and down the U-shaped track. What is free-spinning gondola seating? Free-spinning gondola seating delivers an exhilarating experience like no other. Riders sit in outward-facing circles on two free-spinning platforms mounted to a massive gondola. The gondola launches back and forth on a 590-foot, U-shaped track reaching speeds up to 60 miles per hour. The Georgia Gold Rusher packs in numerous hair-raising airtime experiences, taking riders to dizzying heights of up to 144 feet. When gravity eventually takes over, riders dive straight down and glide across a water reservoir. The unique free-spinning platform ensure guests enjoy a different thrill experience with each ride.
  6. Maybe they want to draw more of an adult crowd without making it adults only. On past vacations, we would specifically look for places without splash pads or other amenities for kids. Now, apparently we have to stay in more expensive places that offer things like splash pads and more play friendly pool areas, because apparently it's worth it despite only having a partial day at the pool during our stay. This was a point of contention this past week when we were planning our few days in Orlando. A place with a splash pad would have won out over this place any day. Five years ago, it would have been the reverse.
  7. For some reason, I'm getting a retro vibe. Is that intentional?
  8. Yup. If they were at a crossroads involving a financial decision resulting in guest satisfaction increasing while profits remaining the same, as opposed to guest satisfaction decreasing with overall profits increasing, the choice would be the latter. This is a first hand example of large corporate America.
  9. I haven't ridden it in years, but I remember it being savagely fun with defensive riding and a couple beers. Middle of the train non wheel seat, grab the bar in front of you, and lean forward off the seat. Then, hold on for dear life. It's probably just like bull riding only worse, right?
  10. Hopefully you'll get your answer quicker than the last poster.
  11. I kind of like the suspense the MCBR adds. It's like another first drop.
  12. That pasta holy shit!! Lol. Nice report.
  13. LMFAO wrong thread. May they rest in peace tho am i rite?....
  14. Toronto had a really straight forward public transportation system between the street cars and subway. The city was very easy to navigate. We enjoyed our stay. Make sure you have international phone service. We found out we didn't when we crossed the border, so we had to buy a cheap burner at a Walmart.
  15. Should be good to go on a summer weekday with a Fastlane though.
  16. Unpopular opinion: Outer banked airtime hills feel awkward and uncomfortable. Not a fan.
  17. Maybe the wildfire will help clear the land. Six Flags must have influenced the 17 million dollar budget cut to the fire department.
  18. I think a Gravity Group retrack would make The Boss the premier coaster in the park. That's the kind of top-down improvement I can appreciate. Instead, I suspect we'll see more updates about new trash cans and painted shitter stalls.
  19. Rest assured, they're going to do the same thing with it that they have been doing.
  20. Maybe they'll go full blown Cedar Flags and just remove both of them to be replaced by a new attraction in 2028.
