  1. That's really a good example. When I went to Dorney last summer I got two rides on Thunderhawk. The first one the trim did nothing and I got some great air, on the second ride it kicked in and made a huge difference as I got nothing. I don't know if this had an influence but on my first ride there was only one train running and then they added the second one. Is this the reason why the trim was deployed the second time? Anyway, it made me rank the ride a lot lower than I would have if there were no trim as that ending was definitely the best part on my first ride.
  2. When I first looked at the picture I too thought it didn't look that big and after seeing your comment I was like: "Which guys?" ...... and then "Holy crap! That thing is massive!"
  3. Wow B&M is competing with Gerstlauer on records! Oh yeah! All in one: tallest loop, most inversions and steepest drop!
  4. Woo hoo! Actually I've seen it too
  5. I have imagine B&M building a strata floorless with lap bars only, a beyond 121 degree drop (so that it would be the steepest) and 15 or 16 inversions while repeating the least of them possible. It could have an immelmann, loop, dive loop, zero-g roll, cobra roll, batwing, butterfly (like on goudurix), inclined loop, interlocking corkscrews, a cutback (like on skyrocket and space mountain mission two) and a double heartline roll. That would be 15 non repetitive inversions and it could feature the worlds tallest loop too. Well, I may keep dreaming...
  6. Top three for 2013: 1 - Storm Runner 2 - Skyrush 3 - Raptor (CP) Top three overall: 1 - Dragon khan 2 - Storm Runner 3 - Skyrush So it's looking really good for Hershey park and while I didn't change my favourite ride I did have a new 2nd and third! Nice 2013!
  7. ^^ If they made a dive coaster slightly taller than the other ones (let's say around 230 ft) and featured a loop it could be the world's tallest one too. Given that CP already has the world's tallest inversion having the biggest loop would be nice. And it's not that it would be hard to break the record for inversions in a dive machine either.
  8. ^It could also be the only way of breaking a big record again as they have almost run out of coaster types to put in the park. The only ones I can think of immediately are flying coasters and 4d ones.
  9. Found this video from the 27th.

  11. That's interesting. Certainly not the first idea that comes to mind when thinking of an efficient solution. Still I wonder, are drive tyres actually more efficient than hydraulic lunches? because I heard those were pretty good in that department using little more energy than a chain lift would require.

  13. ^It does look a lot closer to the station than in the rendering. I actually had already been thinking that something was looking slightly different from the original picture. It almost looks like there will be no room for the helix but I'm sure that's not the case.
  14. I was wondering: are they going to move the crane next to the second half of the batwing in order to complete it and then back again to the second loop? Because it looks like all the supports installed on the second half were put in place by the smaller one which doesn't seem to be able to reach the top. Or is it possible that the big crane will reach far enough to install the rest? (it surely doesn't seem like it)

  16. If when you were riding your bike, changed gear and the chain made a very particular sound you immediately thought: that sounded like a B&M invert disengaging the lift hill. Wow, even I am surprised by how nerdy that was.
  17. ^That's interesting. I didn't know that. It's kind of funny how I had thought that a similar vehicle to the "tank" would be an interesting way to pull/push stalled trains to the station and now I find out that it exists!
  18. Had a weird one tonight. I was riding Iron Rattler (which I've never been on) but it had a totally different layout and location so I don't really know why it was IR. The problem was that the restraints would just open during the ride but as there were seatbelts I didn't come off. I remember thinking: I'm glad six flags decided to put seatbelts on these RMC hybrids and I also though that I would have a very interesting story to tell here on the thread: "Seemingly "Unsafe" or unusual events on rides ". It's kind of strange that I have so many dreams where the restraints open given that I'm never concerned in any way that it might happen. Well, what can I do?
  19. ^I would really like to operate a coaster, but only after I had got plenty of rides too.

  21. Normal. 80's music or nowadays music?
  22. Just one thing: I know it's probably not a big deal but last year, after I sent the ballot, I received an email (the following day or so) confirming that it had been submitted, this year I didn't. Does this mean something went wrong or is it normal?
