  2. Just one thing, now that wooden coasters have been getting really steep, why do they do this: one degree steeper..., a little bit more, just one more..... and gradually make rides that are one degree steeper than the previous instead of making a vertical drop right away? Is is that much more expensive or tricky to build? Or is this some sort of strategy? I'm pretty confident that RMC, which are able to turn woodies upside down, would be able to make a 90 DEGREES drop, right?
  3. So, taking all the issues cable lifts can bring into consideration, it must all be a mater of power efficiency which makes them use this system instead of LSMs, am I wrong?
  4. ^Oh yes it could. That twisty and fast layout was fun but the constant nasty vibrations do really take away from the ride.
  5. ^I didn't know mega lites had problems. But then, most intamins do have quite a few now and then.

  7. Am I right to say that what most people mean by "only one side" is adding iron horse to one and topper track to the other? Because doing nothing to one of them really wouldn't be a great idea.
  8. Well, given what everyone says about Indiana Jones, I'm guessing I must have always caught it in very good days as it was running super smooth on all of my trips to Disney. Anyway, nice to see they're taking care of it.
  9. ^Yeah that... for me too.

  11. Granted, that wish is having an slc in your backyard. I wish B&M started making ejector airtime hills.
  12. Has anyone already posted a picture of the intamin dark ride? Well, anyway Source
  13. Found this picture on coasterfriends showing the landscape with and without the ride. Oh, and krake wasn't there too.
  14. There's the answer to the so much debated question! Now, seriously, I don't know what happened but I just keep seeing this posted over and over gain by several people I know. I remember seeing that picture a while ago so why did someone remember this now? As if such an accident wouldn't be all over the news, given that even when Rip ride Rockit got stuck I heard about it in the portuguese news. So an accident probably involving 4 deaths wouldn't be reported at all, right... But maybe this logic would be too tricky to follow.

  16. ^^Also agree, although I think rally is even more exiting due to the unpredictability of the course.
  17. ^And probably the last "good" B&M invert to be built, according to what I've heard (let's hope banshee will change that).
  18. ^Is it just me or that looks pretty big? Any more news about the opening?

  20. ^Plus the fact that, given the motor used on cable lifts is essentially the same as the ones used with chains only more powerful, they have been being used for quite a few years and so are already more developed (which can have benefits such as reliability and power consumption).
  21. ^Yeah you're right. I mean, I would be totally against having a backwards TTD as the ride would lose a lot (in my opinion) and doesn't need anything to "improve" it right now. I was just mentioning that I find it a bit necessary that they say "arms down" on rides like TTD and Kingda Ka.
  22. I guess they do this so that nobody hurts them due to acceleration forces but it's not so intense that riders wouldn't be able to hold them when the train launches. I always had my hands up and it was perfectly fine. It demands a lot more arm strength to hold them during pretzel loops (which probably reach 4 Gs or more) than a less than 2 Gs launch.
  23. ^Got to try it this summer, great ride!
  24. On both of the times I had a greyout all I felt was that my sight got black and white and it lost some "definition". It only lasted for 3-4 seconds, though.
