  1. I'll be going to the park (for the first time) on the 25th of August and I noticed the opening times are a bit odd: 15:00 - 23:00. It will also be closed the three previous days which means this really is the only date possible for me. I hope I can get a few rides (at least on the main attractions). If not, is there any sort of fast pass thingy system available?
  2. ^About that first retrtacked bit on stampida: how were the laterals? You only mentioned them in the last part and I remember one of the things I found the most fun about the coaster were the laterals. I only rode it once but that one ride wasn't really rough. Not smooth, but not too rough at all. However, I'm glad they've been taking care of it as apparently it got quite shaky and uncomfortable.
  3. ^I believe it's only supposed to open next year. As to the rest, they added angkor (a splash battle) in 2014 (don't know it you already caught that or not), gave tomahawk new trains and have been retracking stampida. Probably there were quite a few other things too but honestly I haven't been following the park's news lately
  4. ^It might be a good idea for the more uninteresting rides but I don't see why you'd add it to solid/better coasters. That being said I've never tried it so I can't say much. I don't think I'd be a fan though but as long as it is optional I don't see a problem.
  5. Agree. I find this very surprising but I do indeed feel the same. That's why, despite the restraints and trim at the top, I like it a bit more than TTD
  6. Thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll be able to do both. From what I understood they work with a sort of wristband system, right? Because I had some trouble clearing that up on Bakken's website (and apparently the entry there is free)
  7. Wow! Looks awesome! It has an awesome pacing and is pretty long! That last roll looks insane, really fast
  8. Even though I've never been to Hersheypark, I agree that wooden coasters being shaky is alright. Other than Racer at KI, every woodie I've been on has been perfectly fine, and I've ridden Hurler and Mean Streak. I even enjoyed Racer at Kings Island. The only woodie I haven't really enjoyed is Thunderhawk at Dorney, even with the new trains. Interesting. I thought thunderhawk was waayyy smoother than wildcat (and I rode both in two consecutive days)
  9. Thanks, I'd really like to try both but I'm not sure I'll be able to. I really wanted to ride tornado because of how insane it's supposed to be
  10. Hey, I'll be going to Copenhagen in August with my parents but we won't be staying for a long time (and I already convinced them to make a trip to Liseberg for one day somehow) so I probably won't have the chance to visit more than one park near the city and so I was wondering if you guys think I should choose tivoli gardens or bakken (also taking into account that I'm more of a coaster guy). It is possible that I might get to go to both but I'd still like to have one as a main option.
  11. It really is incredible how much faster the last bit looks. I thought they had done not so well with this ride's ending but it now looks amazing!
  12. Clearly you have never endured the horrors of the B&M rattle.
  13. ^^ Agree! Looks pretty nice
  14. Can't wait to see some pics of the full drop!
  15. Oldest operating steel coaster in the world Montaña Suiza at Parque de Atracciones Monte Igueldo
  16. Actually it looks way better than I though. Nice layout and great pacing but you can still tell some transitions aren't the best (although they definitely look much better)
  17. I don't know why but I love that part. I feel like it it puts and end to the ride really well (and quite violently). I find it amazing how such an "old" ride stays so smooth. The same goes to BTR at great adventure: the last time I rode it it was 20 years old and there was not one tiny bit of roughness or shakiness at all (which is especially impressive when you take into account how intense and fast it's traditions are). I believe it's rides like this that make people go mad when a new B&M has a rattle.
  18. ^^I think that also makes a difference. You are so "glued" do your seat on GK that you feel any tiny bit of vibration so it's possible that it wouldn't be a problem if it had a looser kind of restraint. For example, that one bad ride I got on GK felt more uncomfortable that any of my rides on furius baco (which I've ridden may times even in the back outside seats) and that's a rough coaster. I can't imagine how it'd be to ride it with B&M's vest restraints. Really? Maybe it's just me but that one bad ride I talked about earlier really was nasty. Naturally there are many many factors which influence this but the fact that the only two other coasters have given me a headache were wildcat at Hershey and coaster express at Warner (aka the worst coaster ever) says something. I get that, if all of your rides on GK were smooth (which I believe), you find it odd when someone calls it rough or shaky but, based on my trip to the park, raptor was a much smoother ride (and so was every other B&M invert I've ridden for that matter).
  19. ^But where did you ride? I had no problems in the outside seats in the front half of the train (although that was a few years ago ao I've no idea how valid it still is)
  20. ^It might depend on a lot of things (like the day and seat where you ride) but, whether I like to admit it or not, it is one of the only three coasters I've ridden which has (in at least one ride) given me a headache. I rode it on opening year in two consecutive days. Most of my rides were silky smooth but some (closer to the back and on the outside seats) were shaky, not really rough, but it had very quick (and not so subtle) vibrations. I've felt vibrations like these on other coasters but never complained because they weren't doing much harm. It definitely wasn't like raptor which I found perfectly smooth in any seat at any time. I guess sometimes we don't believe certain things we hear because we've never had such an experience. For instance, if I heard one person saying they had a rough ride on hydra I would have my doubts as all of my rides (all in one day, though) weren't minimally rough, shaky or rattly at all. But given that quite a few people seem to have this complain I believe it.
  21. ^Wow that looks ridiculously fast
  22. ^It's not great but I wouldn't call it bad either. I mean, it's not like I usually leave a superhero movie saying: "Wow that was a great film!" apart from one or two batmans maybe. Having watched civil war recently and how amazing its reviews were makes me wonder why this is getting such poor reviews as I honestly felt they weren't so different (in terms of entertaining you which is what these pictures do). Yes the villain is a bit of a cliché but does it matter that much? (and I feel like I'm not getting much better in all these superhero movies coming out lately) Maybe it helps that I generally enjoy these X-men films a little more than the rest (generally speaking) but I think it's fun to watch.
