  1. ^haha that's pretty cool. Hadn't noticed it. It does Indeed weird but that only makes the ride look cooler.
  2. Yes. Sadly I haven't had the chance to try an RMC yet but if they really are as awesome as everyone says then what's the problem? It might not have any "new" elements but it's just a longer/bigger/faster version of the rides that have been getting so much praise which seems quite amazing.
  3. I visited the park earlier this month but hadn't really had much time to write something about it. It was my third time at the park and first at Ferrari Land so here are one or two thoughts: Ferrari Land: the place looked pretty nice and decently themed but we didn't really try that many rides. We did the S&S towers, red force and not much more. Red force was exactly what I expected: a really fun but short ride. It didn't have the intensity of Kingda Ka as you could definitely tell the slower acceleration and top speed. The "straight" drop was fun ut I prefer the ones with the 270 degree twist as they ad something to these really short coasters. The restraints were great and it felt pretty smooth. Entering the top hat was also much softer than on kk where you start climbing quite brutally under heavy Gs which was something I missed a bit. Me and my friends managed (after a "race") to be the very first riders of that day which was quite cool. I felt like the glasses they give you if you ride the front row make it feel not as intense due to the wind on your face. I got the feeling that not many people were going to ferrariland when compared to portaventura (which perhaps explains why they have already dropped the combined ticket price) which is a shame as the place is quite fun to go to (and if you're a coaster enthusiast you have to ride red force) even thought it only made our waits shorter. Portaventura: still the same as before, really. This time I got to try angkor (my first splash battle) which was great fun especially as it was horribly hot that day. I also tried the one side of stampida I hadn't ridden before and took quite a bit of a beating. Despite this I still enjoyed the ride as the layout pretty interesting (the only problem really is the roughness). Speaking of roughness, Dragon Khan sadly wasn't as smooth as on my two previous visits. I guess it's starting to show its age which is a shame as it is one of my favorite coasters. Still I didn't think it was enough to harm the ride experience. Shambhala also wasn't as smooth but honestly that's nothing as I had ridden it on its opening year and it was simply the smoothest ride I had ever been on. Now it's just "normal", I'd say. Still provides loads of airtime which is what really matters. Finally, on my third visit I managed to ride furius baco in the front row and it really is A LOT smoother than in any other row and a much better ride experience. This ride really impresses me as it manages to be so good and so much fun even though it's really rough and short. I never get tired of riding it. Just wish they'd get rid of those stupid things they added to the restraints (next to your head) and maybe replace them with the soft ones some intamin coasters with OTSR have been getting recently. Overall I had a great day and can't wait to return, hopefully with a bit more time to explore some parts of the parks I haven't tried yet.
  4. I have to say this coaster looks pretty amazing. I wonder how it rides.
  5. ^ I also noticed there hasn't been a lot of activity here which is curious. ^^ thanks for the report. I'm planning to go there myself in august and, from what I understood, you have to choose a time slot to visit the park (either the first half of the day or the second) and being so I'll probably go for the first. Has red force been fairly reliable or not so much (like some accelerator intamins)?
  6. Portaventura in the summer unless we happen to plan anything else soon.
  7. Not trying to be an A$$... But have you ever been on Millennium Force?? Those tunnels aren't really "short." Yeah, they're pretty long, but you also fly through them pretty fast, so I can see where one might get that impression. Also they're really nothing "special" so for me it doesn't add that much. Long tunnels are pretty fun but as some have mentioned the thrill comes from entering a seemingly tight hole at high speeds. I also prefer the ones which have a minimal level of "theming" and not just boxes.
  8. Naturally when I was younger and started riding coasters I wasn't used to watching POVs so I didn't really know any layout. Recently I guess that only happens with some smaller rides or some woodies (like tonnerre de zeus at Parc Asterix which was great fun especially as I didn't know what was coming next). I remember that when I rode Tornado at Bakken last summer I didn't know the layout very well either as I got confused watching POVs due to that mess of track in such a small space. And that was really funny given how intense that ride is with such fast and snappy transitions.
  9. ^Yeah that's what I feared. It's a shame but at least I should have the rest of the park I don't know yet.
  10. ^I was thinking the same. I'll going to the park for the first time in April and have no idea what to expect in terms of it being open or not.
  11. Out of the ones I've been on it's hurakan condor at Portaventura Demon Drop at Dorney was amazing and had a great freefall sensation but this one wins because of its height.
  12. It seems a bit weird that there is no Ferrari Land only option. Not that I'm planning to do so but I'll be going there in August and noticed that they still have that Portaventura + train tickets for 45 euros only offer. The thing is, given that I can't then buy FL entrances , is there any way round this issue? Maybe I'll just wait as it's still early (FL isn't even open yet) and perhaps then they'll have more options.
  13. Wow I can't wait to hear that launch live! It's intense!
  14. ^^Maybe. I actually thought that the fact that it wasn't synchronized with the launch was just because it was shot from what appears to be a relatively big distance but perhaps you're right.
  15. ^I also thought about that. But would they make it that loud (that far away)? And we've never heard what LSMs propelling a coaster to such high speeds sound like, so I'm not sure.
  16. Finally! It does make a really cool sound. Can't wait to try it next year
  17. ^I actually found thunderhawk a lot more enjoyable (although I did ride it with its old restraints). It felt a bit rough/jerky in a way that a lot of old woodies do while wildcat was so shaky it gave me a headache (which is a shame as the layout isn't bad with its good pacing and twists).
  18. ^Yes it doesn't sound very easy for them. We'll see. (When I first saw that picture I panicked thinking it was the intamin)
  19. 1 - Skyrush 2 - Nitro 3 - Shambhala 4 - Steel Force 5 - Magnum
  20. Wow this is some dramatic news... Glad there were no serious injuries. I also hope the opening dates aren't changed as they said on that statement.
  21. The worst part for me is definitely the corkscrew exit
