Photo TR's: JordyC's Theme Park Adventures

Tornado was also on my to-do list, because it is a very unique ride. So I was really looking forward to riding my first Intamin inverted coaster, but I just couldn't help it to feel disappointed. If the ride was actually smooth, I would have rated it a lot higher, though. I was also looking forward to riding it but it was pretty much as I expected (which was nothing special). The one at sarkanniemi looks more interesting. But nice report! Overall I agree with you on the park, it's pretty fun but not the best one in the area and could use a little more attention. I actually found abismo's restraints fairly comfortable although they are quite restrictive for lap bars. I thought they held me in the hangtime part without discomfort even though I prefer, lets say.. mack's lap bars. -

This made my day. And yes, as someone who never uses them I don't see any problem at all. (although I'll admit it's funny to see someone trying to hold on to something that doesn't exist) You know what, I had never noticed those rides had nowhere to hold on to haha -

Wow that looks really cool! Does anyone know exactly what type of ride energylandia in Poland is getting? (or do we just know it'll feature several launches?) -

^It definitely does not look as steep as the usual second drops on big dive coasters. OMG that would've been amazing. I've wondered quite a few times why it still hasn't happened and I remember a few years ago when, before IAAPA, Robb allowed us to suggest questions for him to ask to the manufacturers and one of my suggestions (and maybe someone else's) was precisely that one (why they hadn't used lapbars on looping rides) to which Walter Bolliger answered "I do not want to answer that question." It made me even more curious -

I quite like how "chunky" they look (almost like a mine car) -

Wow this just looks unbelievable It kind of reminds me of when I played The Sims as a kid as would just use some cheat code to get more money and keep building ridiculously big houses out of nowhere. And to think that the park just opened a couple of years ago... -

Ever ride Goliath at Magic Mountain? Titan at SFOT? Yeah... Haha true, although those are a bit steeper. The evacuation thing makes sense even though I would expect them to go around that issue if they really wanted a steeper drop. -

I keep wondering if there's any reason why all these water coasters have drops of "only" 45 degrees or something like that. It just looks strange to have such a long straight section of track there. -

But does anyone have an idea of how the attendance has been? I'm curious. -

I really like the amount of "traditional" airtime hills this ride has. Obviously RMC is amazing at doing funky elements but I just love the look of all those hills in a row -

What is your favorite Roller Coaster?
rcjp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After visiting a few new parks last year I have some doubts between helix at Liseberg and Ispeed at Mirabilandia. Ispeed is just awesome from start to finish with great forces, pacing and fast transitions but I just wish it was a bit longer. Helix feels like a more complete ride with its fairly long layout and great mix of inversions and airtime , plus it was lapbars only which is cool but it's not as intense as Ispeed. So I really don't know, honestly -

I visited the park last October and was sad the ride was closed. I didn't expect it to be a great coaster but definitely a very unique experience compared to anything I've been on. It's a shame .. -

Great to finally see a conversion in Europe! Hopefully other parks will realise the potential and consider doing the same. -

^^ That's amazing. Really looking forward to riding it this summer especially as I've never been on a RMC before. Also very exited about the rest of the park's lineup too. -

It'll be interesting to ride those coasters with new restraints this summer even though I had no complaints about the old ones. Also very happy about the new fast track as I wish I had been able to ride their awesome coasters like storm runner and skyrush a bit more. It might not be the cheapest but compared to the standard "skip the line once" option its way better. -
Yes. Have you ever had a car accident?

S&S Sansei Discussion Thread

The fact that it doesn't start accelerating from 0 mph doesn't help but even the ones I've ridden which do fail to match the brutal kick most accelerator coasters have. But yes it does seem more reliable (even though it broke down for a few minutes while I was there) than hydraulic or compressed air launches which probably means we will start seeing more of these replacing other types of launches. It's obviously great to have very reliable rides but once in a while I'd be willing to take the risk and have a properly forceful launch. Kindga ka's launch is the most forceful one I've been on (or at least the one I like the most, even if not everyone does) and it's just a feeling that I don't get in any other coaster and I quite miss it. So it's great to see that these compressed air launches are not dead but I do wish they were also built elsewhere (like Europe or the US) as I'd really like to have the chance to try one. Or maybe I'll just have to go to Asia.. -

I haven't tried a triple launch either (I'll probably do it this summer) but but I have to say the even among the "normal" one step launches, I have never been on an LSM one which was as strong as any intamin accelerator coaster I've ridden. This summer I rode red force at ferrariland and even though the stats are not that different I feel that kingda ka and TTD are on a completely different league due to the brutality of their accelerations. I really would like to be able to experience an S&S compressed air launch (like dodonpa) as they all appear so forceful and I hope these more "old-school" systems are not completely replaced by the more modern LSMs unless they actually manage to produce equally forceful accelerations. -

^True. I was surprised, when I went there, by the lack of people it had and indeed it didn't feel very complete. I basically just went there for red force. Hopefully this will help.
