  1. ^That looks like a really interesting coaster, just a shame it has OTSRs instead of lapbars. How is it in terms of comfort? It looks like it may have a few jerky moments but not too bad, overall. Also, great video
  2. Wow that's truly insane! I've always thought that these rides didin't seem that exciting as most of them span a lot during testing and initial "empty trains" POVs but then when they opened and ran with actual riders the spinning looked a lot more controlled and on most/many POVs the riders would not complete one single full spin. But this one is totally the opposite! I wonder if it was a choice of the park to have this "uncontrolled" level of spinning. As to the rest, great reports (as usual) and truly amazing to see not only this level of efficiency but also the behaviour and attitude of the guests. Two things I'd like to see more of when I visit parks.
  3. Not that many 2011 - Green Lantern Great Adventure (only new at that the park, though) 2012 - Shambhala at Portaventura 2013 - Gatekeeper 2015 - CĂș Chulainn at Tayto park 2017 - Red Force at Ferrari Land There are also some flat rides I don't remember well This summer I should be adding quite a few to the list, hopefully
  4. It does kind of look like skyrush's drop, which is obviously amazing! Also, I find it interesting how loud the lift is given that intamins usually have really quiet ones, not that I'm bothered, though
  5. Great report! Looks like you guys are having a blast Japan is definitely a country I want to visit one day, and the fact that it has all these parks with fairly unique rides only makes me want it more Keep posting these awesome updates
  6. ^Nice! I really like that combination so I can't wait to see how it looks on such a massive ride
  7. ^Wow that's certainly a nice addition! I haven't ridden taron but it does seem pretty good (and the reviews support this) so if it can serve as an example I'm very interested in knowing how this'll turn out.
  8. It's a chain lift! Wow that's certainly unexpected! Nothing wrong with it but I didn't imagine Intamin using a chain on a ride of this size at all. I wonder if there are any particular reasons for this.
  9. Looks amazing I'm curious about the lift system they'll be using on this one as I don't see the gap the track usually has to make room for the catch car/cable. At least it doesn't go as far down the drop as usual
  10. ^They've also built a tilt coaster that doesn't hit 90 before. Don't know if it is the case or not with these Anyway, that's pretty "impressive", lets say That's actually a decent number of "big" coasters for a park
  11. ^Am I the only one who actually enjoys standup coasters and think it's a cool concept?
  12. I thought the same! I believe that's what makes the drop so brutal (which is always a nice way to start a ride) so I'm really glad to see something similar here. And it looks amazing!
  13. When I am flying across the world to visit a park and I have a limited amount of time, I want to spend that time RIDING not standing in line watching other people ride. The lines move fast, yes, but I've stood in plenty of "fast moving hour long lines" and Europa and as much as I love the park, I would have a much better visit if I didn't waste so much time standing in lines. It doesn't have to be a "paid" service. Disney has done just fine with their system being free and fair for over a decade now... When I visited the park last October I was surprised it didn't have such service and I did miss it as I was only able to get 1 ride on each of the main attractions. I didn't really use to agree with the philosophy but now when I spend a considerable amount of money to visit a park I want to get the most out of it and I'll pay a little more for that with no problem. I also agree that while the lines moved fast I still waited for a considerable time for many coasters.
  14. Interesting that they went with several smaller supports for the lift hill rather than one massive beam like skyrush or I305. Anyway, it's looking amazing! And I still can't believe all they're adding in such a short period of time
  15. Well that's unexpected. Is there any particular reason for this?
  16. Great report! It's a shame the weather wasn't great but at least it looks like you had a good time. Batman and superman were my first "big" looping coasters so that park is kind of special for me (also because it is the nearest from me haha). I've noticed superman has become slightly rough in some parts but I also agree it is no big deal, batman always amazes me with its smoothness. Don't be sad you missed coaster express unless it was for the credit. It really has nothing good and I don't think retracking will save it as the layout is just boring (even if it were silky smooth it wouldn't be a great deal). I had expectations we could in the not so distant future see something like a RMC conversion (it does have quite a bit of potential) so I'm not so happy with this retracking
  17. ^Yes they do get tighter. I've noticed many do this nowadays (probably because of the increasing use of hydraulic systems) so I guess it's quite inevitable (especially if the ride has decent forces). For me it comes down to how comfortable they are. If they are super comfy they can get pretty tight without bothering a lot, if not it might become painful. For example, these ones and the restraints on mack rides (like bluefire) do get pretty tight but I was okay with that because I felt fairly comfortable while on skyrush, for example, I feel they were poorly designed and hurt me quite a lot (especially during airtime moments) but even on the brake run. What I mean is that, apparently, it is hard to avoid the tightening of some restrains so it comes down to how ergonomic they are.
