  1. ^ I believe you still have to buy a ticket, even with a SFMM season pass. Eric
  2. ^ Just a note, I believe that X2 uses Harry Connick Jr.'s version of It Had to be You. But I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and that Ninja is back up and running. Eric
  3. ^^ Something like Delirium would be great at SFMM. Is that the same ride as La Revolucion at Knott's? Eric
  4. I agree with Chuck. While I personally enjoy Riddler's Revenge, I think that ride is about as big as a standup should get. In my own experience, the hill over where Freefall used to be gives some good airtime, but more than that...no. Eric
  5. Getting to play tug-of-war with an elephant RULES! Eric
  6. ^^^ New paint job. They don't make those trains anymore (thankfully). Eric
  7. Just curious...will they hand out samples of their products? In the past, I've been given Doritos on my way out when they sponsored an attraction. Eric
  8. ^ Around here, that's what they call those $1.00 boxes where you can store your stuff while riding certain rides at the park. It's so much better and definitely more creative than what SFMM calls them. Eric
  9. Where exactly in Hurricane Harbor are they building Mr. Six's Splash Island? Did they use any of Flashback's old area? Strangely, I didn't notice this the other day when I was there. Eric
  10. @ themeparkman25: Congratulations! Best of luck on the job. @ EBL: Get off your duff, you Failasaurus and GET A JOB! Eric
  11. ^ You're the one with the red OTSR, right? I say that because all of the others are orange. While I'm not crazy about the ad-wrapped trains, the way it was applied to Ninja isn't so bad---maybe because they left the bottom of the cars black. And, of course, the Karate Kid movie ad fits Ninja's Japanese theme. Since I haven't ridden Ninja all year, I look forward to doing so soon. Eric
  12. I got my free ticket for a friend from the Funatics program. The ticket is valid on any operating day until October 10, 2010. (Interesting expiration date... ) Eric
  13. ^ I haven't seen any mist on Terminator for quite awhile. Eric
  14. ^^ Hopefully not the same way the kid in your avatar is fixing the electrical outlet. This weekend, I'm going to get out in my nice, cleared out yard and do some trimming and watering. It's nice to have the yard back. Eric
  15. ^ As the father of a 20-year-old, I always tell her to be careful when she goes somewhere. That's because no matter how good or careful someone is, there's always a moment when their attention is diverted by only a second. And it only takes a second for something to go horribly wrong. Please understand that when people tell you to "be safe," they're showing you that they care. Eric
  16. ^ I had a meat, but I eated it. Eric
  17. No, only when I go out in front to get the papers on Sunday morning. Are you allergic to any foods?
  18. ^ I did notice the Axe Twist ad in the station, but didn't know that a train was ad-wrapped. They were using the orange-striped train when I was there. Somehow, I can't imagine the pretzel loop on Tatsu being forceless, even with only one person on the train. Eric
  19. The AAA event is that day, but that's not till after 6pm. However, there may be an unusually high number of people there who will stay past the 6pm closing time for the general public. Eric
  20. ^ Not to mention the fact that if people would put their stuff in them, they'd get on rides faster and get to ride more rides during their visit. Eric
  21. Yesterday, I took a quick run out to SFMM. Arrived at 10:30, just as the gates opened. Stayed till just after 5. Here's the scoop: X2 - Closed upon arrival, due to winds said an employee. Revolution - One-train operation, I walked on. Viper - One-train operation, one-train wait. Tatsu - One-train operation, left station open, waited about 15 minutes. Ninja - Closed. Superman - Waited about five minutes, left track operating. Gold Rusher - One-train operation, waited five minutes. Batman - One-train operation, waited five minutes. Scream - One-train operation, waited five minutes. Colossus - One-train operation, left track operating, waited 10 minutes. Goliath - One-train operation, waited about 10 minutes. Riddler's Revenge - One-train operation, waited about 15 minutes. Terminator - Two-train operation, no audio, walked on and rode twice without getting out. Fire was on. Deja Vu - Walked on, rode in front for the first time. While walking through the queue, I overheard a guy say that he rode X2 twice, so I asked him if that was today. He said it was, so apparently it had opened after all. X2 - Two-train operation, waited about ten minutes. I found out later on that X2 had been open for less than two hours all day. The fire was off, though, most likely because of the wind. I didn't ride Canyon Blaster, and of course, I didn't ride Percy's Railway. Until next time, that is all. Eric
  22. I hope they keep serving Coca-Cola products and not those made by Pepsi. Eric
  23. First, I agree with what Robb said regarding people carrying excessive stuff. I always laugh at people standing in line trying to figure out how they're going to hang onto their purse or other large object during the ride---especially X2 And I always suggest that a mere $1 investment is totally worth their peace of mind. At least it is for me. And since I have a season pass, I've already paid nothing to park or get in. A few bucks a day to keep my stuff safe really is money saved. SFMM also needs to get rid of their in-station cubbies because people are still using them. Anyway, we always heard that Shapiro was a big coaster fan, so we know that Six Flags parks would continue to build new ones over the years---just not as often as SFMM did in the late '90s/early 2000s. Big rides draw crowds, so Weber will most likely continue the trend of adding them. One other factor in this is the recession of the last few years. Attendance numbers everywhere are down and will remain so until this crisis blows over. "Perhaps he needs to add more fiber to his diet." I have, Chuck, and it does help. Eric
  24. Diana knew a kid named "Christoffer." Could be an ethnic spelling, but guaranteed to make the kid re-spell his name for almost everyone. Eric
  25. ^ There's a reason that sites like TPR and Westcoaster remain popular---it's because the mods there know what they're doing and allow reasonable discussions to continue. A mod that respond to a straightforward question like yours in such a nasty manner shouldn't be a mod. In my opinion, at least. Eric
