  1. ^ I knew about the time limit policy at The Big Texan. Maybe a time limit of five minutes for the Double Down? Eric
  2. ^^ Whenever I go to SFMM---or any park for that matter---I find it easiest to just circle the park. I've never understood bouncing all over the park. That wastes time and energy. If there is anything you want to ride again, do it later. Eric
  3. My daughter works at Abercrombie, and she has quite a few stories about the people who shop there... Eric
  4. ^ My folks split my dad's name. My older brother got my dad's middle name as his middle name, and I got Dad's first name as my middle name. Eric
  5. Maybe KFC should do something like The Big Texan steakhouse in Amarillo, TX (where if you eat a 72 oz. steak and trimmings, the meal is free). Only at KFC, you'd have to eat two Double Downs for your free meal. Eric
  6. ^ Actually, I'm three years older than Jeff Johnson, but he gets all the grief because he's just...old. Eric
  7. ^ You should be able to get on all of those rides within your five-hour visit. I would start with X2, then hit Tatsu on your way to Terminator. After Terminator, go to the top of the mountain and ride Superman, then head down and ride Colossus and Canyon Blaster. Or, as an alternate, you could head to the top of the mountain via the Orient Express to ride Superman right after you ride X2. Then go to the steps to the right of Orient Express and take them down to Tatsu's entrance, ride that, then continue around the back of the park to Terminator and over to Colossus and Canyon Blaster. Normally, a Tuesday through Thursday visit would be less crowded, but school is still in session around here, so the park most likely won't be too crowded. Eric
  8. We were sober when we chose our daughter's name. Eric
  9. ^^ Actually, according to this page on the SFMM website, Mr. Six's Dance Coaster will open sometime this summer. That could mean June or July. Regardless, I don't think it'll take long to set it up and test it. Eric
  10. ^ Today, I celebrated Cinco de Mayo, and tomorrow I'll celebrate Seis de Mayo. Yesterday I celebrated Quatro de Mayo. My birthday is Uno de Agosto, so I'll celebrate that, too, by turning quince y uno. See, I just plain old celebrate all CCCLXV days of the year, no matter how you say 'em. Eric
  11. My car hasn't moved an inch today, but that may change if I go to the market. Eric
  12. ^^ It would be nice to see updated photos there, but I think what they do have is dependent on what viewers of the site send in. They can't put up what they don't have. Eric
  13. I've never had any issues with my shoulders---even when the original trains ran on X. For me, it was the leg banging that did me in. It's been said many times, but some sort of leg restraints similar to Tatsu's would have been a blessing. Eric
  14. Dollywood and SFOG are two parks that I want to visit sometime. How does Thunderhead run---being a GCII, I'd guess it's still pretty smooth. I ask because I'm curious as to how GCIIs hold up over time. Same question with Georgia Cyclone...being a mirror-image of SFMM's Psyclone---and a Dinn-Summers coaster at that---has it gotten rough? I never hear anyone talk about it. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the rest of the report. Eric
  15. I saw somewhere that Six Flags is planning a park in Nigeria. Seems to me that they should get things in order here in North America before attempting to expand overseas again. That's part of what got them into trouble last time. Eric
  16. ^ It's kind of hit or miss with animals when you acquire a new one. Glad to see that your cats get along. Eric
  17. I never have any headbanging on X2. Of course, I get the OTSR down as far as I can on it without crushing my shoulders. (I wish a lot of other rides would incorporate some sort of vertically adjustable OTSRs.) Eric
  18. Just reading this topic emphasizes what I said earlier in it---those of you with autism or Aspergers are indeed intelligent and NOT "retarded." All of your posts are very well written and you've shared some valuable information. And I just learned today that my nephew got straight As in his high school classes. Eric
  19. Funny thing about X2...I normally ride on an inside seat, but on my last couple of visits I rode in an outside seat just for the fun of it. In my experience, it wasn't much different than riding the inside seat. One thing about the outside seat on the non-Viper side is that when you go around the wide turn, you're way out on the edge like being on the wing of a plane---that I like. Eric
  20. I agree about X2 regarding the worst part of the ride is the second raven turn. For me, I was done with that ride when it was still X. But on X2 media day, I gave it another chance and discovered that while it can still be pretty rough, it's better than the original. You picked the perfect time to go to SFMM. Weekdays right now are pretty slow, and re-rides are plentiful. Eric
  21. ^ Since I wasn't familiar with this ride, I watched the video on the Huss site. I can see how it would have a lot of downtime, given all of the moving parts. Also, note to self: don't ride this after eating. Eric
  22. "Romance and relationships find you when you aren't really looking for them. My advice - stop looking and start living. Complete yourself and don't wait for someone to complete you. Then - when you do find that special someone, you are ready." (jynx242) Correctus maximus. Eric
  23. I guess one other way of looking at this is that it adds to the theme a bit---given all of the "destroyed" stuff scattered around the queue area. Eric
  24. Not sure why, but I can sense "Thread Locked." But that's just me... Eric
  25. I'm curious as to what kind of material was used for the theming on Terminator's trains. To me, it looks like some sort of plastic or Styrofoam. While the theming was nice, I wonder if some sort of replaceable panels might have worked out better? That way, a damaged panel could be changed out relatively fast. Eric
