Salamander meat---we had some in the garage, but I think the rats got it. Eric

My brother's foot once---square in the eye (that counts as your head, doesn't it?). Got a nice shiner from that. Eric

^ High Roller originally ran a nine-car train, but they took the last two cars off because it kept valleying from what I heard. When I rode it, the train had already been shortened to seven cars. Eric

I'm more or less the spelling and grammar Nazi over on Westcoaster. Spelling, punctuation, and grammar are important to me and do count. Not doing your best to write clearly is flat out laziness. "Well, you know what I meant" just doesn't cut it. Even on the Internet where a lot of shortcuts are used. Eric

"Official" Major League Baseball Discussion

Why didn't they just implode Busch Stadium like they did with the Kingdome and others? Are they saving the pieces for some reason? Eric -
"Retarted." That means it got a second tart thrown at it, right? Yeah, sort of a dumb thread, but it is in the Random, Random, Random forum, so it fits. Eric

Stratosphere ride strikes again...
ebl replied to USCoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
KNBC had this on their 11:00 news, and, of course, they referred to it as a roller coaster. I rode X-Scream last year, and I was the only one on it! (It was a Tuesday afternoon, who else would be there?) It was fun riding in the front seat, and I'd do it again. I am about due for another trip out there. I'll go up there again to ride Insanity despite what I've heard about it. There's also been talk of removing the High Roller. That's fine with me. It's not that much fun anyway. Eric -
I've only ridden Konk---er, Kong---at SFMW. Before riding, I'd heard all the horror stories about these evil Vekoma creations, but I never had any bad rides on it. Of course, my last ride was in 1999, so maybe it's gotten worse...I haven't heard one way or another. Eric

Six Flags Magic Mountain Tatsu Flying Coaster
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All of the Superman: Ultimate Flights are on flat ground. I don't think there is a flat space big enough at SFMM to put one in. (Well, there is more parking lot space! ) And you certainly couldn't put it where Tatsu is going. It will be original, but I hope it has a longer track length than the 2700 feet of S:UF. Eric -
No, but some ACEers do---it's called their belly! Do you ever hang out at the bowling alley?

I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight and tomorrow night. This'll be more exciting than Christmas morning! Eric -
Ripped Off Disney things!!!

Actually, SFMM had Disaster Transport once (Sarajevo Bobsleds, 1984-1985) right where Psyclone was---it just didn't have the building around it. BTW, our old bobsled ride is at SFoT as La Vibora. Eric "Misses the Sarajevo Bobsleds" L. -
^ As long as people pay $12 to ride it, they'll charge $12. What do they charge for painkillers at the exit? I'm contemplating a trip to Vegas between Christmas and New Year's. I want to ride that new ride, Insanity, up on the Stratosphere since I've done all the other ones. Eric

^ Y'know, that was kind of a silly theme...a bobsled at the beach. I wonder who came up with that? Eric -
As soon as I get to 1000, well, I don't know what I'll do. :? I mean, I don't drink or smoke, I can't---well, shouldn't eat anything with sugar in it. Maybe I'll...hmmm...let me think about that. Eric "One post closer to 1000" L.

^ When you reach 1800, go drink your favorite beer to celebrate! Me? Heck, I just ate peanut butter. Eric

Only people who care about their post count would notice that. Eric

See, my parents gave me a first and middle name, and we already had a last name. And, since I'm smart, I figured out that I could take the first letter off of my first name (the E), the first letter off of my middle name (the B), and add the first letter of my last name (the L), I'd have teh r0x0r of screen names, EBL. Six Flags Magic Mountain Tatsu Flying Coaster
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The construction area is getting to be quite interesting. I can't help but to wonder if anything else is going in along with Tatsu, like maybe a new eatery, gift shop, etc. We'll find out before next weekend! Eric -
This sounds a lot like the Cadillac Drive Summit that I attended last year. I received an invitation in the mail for that event, and I had to call and register. On the day of the event, I went down to the old El Toro Marine Base in Tustin. They had appetizers and drinks beforehand, then they had a presentation and explained to everyone how the event was going to work. What we did was to go out to the old airstrip where they had 3/4 - 1 mile long courses set up (marked with pylons). They had various Cadillac models along with cars from Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. We got in line under a sign that had the make and model of the car you wanted to drive. They let us drive as many as we wanted within our two-hour time slot. When we were done, they had us fill out a survey and gave us a very nice leather CD case as a token of appreciation. It was a very nice time, to be honest. This GM one sounded like fun, too. Eric
