  1. I just noticed: that Neoplan A440 bus---do my eyes deceive me or are there doors on the driver's (that would be facing the street) side of the bus? If so, it must be a customized bus that pulls up to a center island or something. At least I hope so... Eric
  2. People writing "tho" and "altho" on message boards. To me, it's a most annoying shortcut. Is adding a "ugh" to complete the word too much of a task? Not a major issue, but annoying nonetheless. Eric
  3. Nice to see another bus and train fan around here. I really enjoyed that report. Eric "lives 100 ft. from a busy Union Pacific rail line with plenty of passenger trains" L.
  4. Yes, I rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland nine days ago. Do you like the Taiko smilies?
  5. I need to pick up some Parmesan cheese. Eric
  6. ^ Scares people with his outfit. < Scares people with his presence. V Scares people with his face!
  7. "Bleep, Blop, Blip and the wizard." (jew) No, the trolls were Bloop, Bleep, and Blop. To answer the question I asked, the original Gold Rusher track color was red---and if you look at the track in the station, it still is. For whatever reason, whenever they've painted the track, they didn't paint inside the station. Another trivia question: At one time, there were two different Eagles Flight rides. What were the names of the stations, and where was each one located. (Hint: One of the three is still standing and, obviously, not used for anything right now.) Eric
  8. Coasternovice, at your service! According to the Excel spreadsheet I keep, I'm at 80. That'll go up on April 8, at SFMM... Eric
  9. The Animal Farm is still there, and the 99 Steam Train was still running up until a few years after Colossus was built. You can look down inside Colossus and still make out parking spaces if you look hard enough. There were never any attractions where Colossus was built. It was indeed a parking lot---Magic Mountain's first parking lot coaster! What was the Gold Rusher's original track color? Eric
  10. ^ You may not want to know... Eric
  11. I like Tatsu's color scheme...red, orange, and yellow---like a giant box of Trix! Eric
  12. President's Day off of work! An extra day to sleep in! Eric
  13. I think I guessed $500 or some ridiculous figure. Congratulations, Robin, for an almost dead-on guess. "Y'know, in all the time I spent in the US as a kid, I don't think I ever saw a dollar coin. Are they pretty rare?" (CoasterLou) Dollar coins are just not popular in this country. I don't know why they insist on making them, except for vending machine use. And why they make half dollars is beyond me because hardly anyone uses them. They're rather large coins (bigger than the dollars) and a pocketful of them would be hard to carry. Eric
  14. " The problem isn't food, people are just lazy!" (TheGreatOne) Amen! Yes, fast food tends to be higher in fat/salt/cholesterol/etc., but you can get burgers without mayo, you can ask for fries without salt (you might have to wait for a fresh batch, but you can ask), and you can get grilled chicken instead of deep fried. True, it's better to eat more at home, but you have to watch what you eat there, too. Eric
  15. ^^^ I've never heard of anyone painting their computer. But you did a nice job. Eric
  16. ^ I would think that by May, SFMM would have the flyer procedure down. Running three trains with a dual loading station shouldn't be a problem. Eric
  17. Yes, and they are waaayyy overpriced! Do you like sushi?
  18. I'll go Dave one better---I'm 46 and post on coaster forums. As Dave said, age is a state of mind. That means I'm about 21 or so... Eric
  19. Probably the same reason why you don't talk to a bus driver while s/he's driving the bus. It's actually illegal in L.A. on the MTA. Eric
  20. Tonight, I baked cookies. All by myself. While talking on the phone. They were good, too! Eric
  21. I still have some baby teeth, believe it or not. Eric
  22. ^ Likes DDR. < Would break a hip if he played DDR. V Would break windows if he sang!
  23. Yes, and the two women I live with, too. Do you have a disease?
  24. I rode Maelstrom in July 2002 and was actually disappointed. Many times I heard about the "backwards drop" and looked forward to it. That drop was not any more exciting than rolling backwards down a long driveway---and not a very steep one at that. But it is a nicely themed ride and was fun otherwise. Eric
  25. ^ Actually, at 39.37 inches per meter (not 36), the ride would be just over 351 feet tall. Honors math? Eric
