Yeah, it was Mystic Lake where they once had a waterskiing show. Before that it was a parking lot. Eric

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Matterhorn at Disneyland on Feb. 12. Eric -
^ Even I enjoyed Legos as a kid; of course they were carved from rocks in those days. Eric

I work for a military contractor, so we're supportive of the troops. As for me personally, I can't give enough praise for protecting our country, whether here or overseas. I'm too old now, but sometimes I wish I had done at least the basic two- or four-year hitch. Who knows? It might have made a nice career. Eric

I just had lunch at McDonald's about 90 minutes ago, and I'm still vertical. Double cheeseburger, plain; small fries; large Diet Coke. Eric

Thank you to those who have pointed our new member toward the existing thread. Cuh-link...we be locked here. Eric

^ Funny, after starting this topic, I did one more search and found that exact graphic. To all, thanks for your help. Eric

Go for it. Legoland is really a lot of fun! Eric

^^ I have the Disney Coaster game, but the Matterhorn layout was crude at best. ^ No, WDW's Space Mountain is not the same as the Matterhorn. A bit similar, perhaps, but each track is a mirror image of the other and much longer as well. And, yes, I've ridden both sides of WDW's Space Mountain. Eric

Theme Park Review's Spring Party!
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Usually, like at any party, we just sort of mingle and introduce ourselves. That's the easiest way, unless we want to go the nametag route. Actually, nametags wouldn't be a bad idea---just my 'pinion. Eric -
^ I think Pirates Cove went away and was absorbed into Colossus County Fair. There's also The Movie District (where Riddler's Revenge and Freefall are). Does anyone remember what was where Hurricane Harbor is now? Eric

After many years, I've finally seen a layout of Disneyland's Space Mountain, but I've never seen one of the Matterhorn's two tracks. I've tried finding it online (no luck), so I thought I'd ask here. Funny, after riding it for almost 40 years, you'd think I would have the layout down, but it never fails that I can't remember it. Eric

Apple juice for me! Would you rather drive behind a school bus or a produce truck?

I'd sure like to take a trip out to Scottsdale to see that! Eric

Noooo... Ever been on Las Posas Road?

I plan to make beignets for our office Mardi Gras lunch. Eric

Will Flashback (SFMM) be operating in 2006?
ebl replied to coastered's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Think about a 200' Star Flyer or a 300' S&S tower ride in Superman plaza." (Guy T. Koepp) I doubt we'll see an S&S tower at SFMM, but a Star Flyer would be the most incredible ride, especially up on the mountain somewhere. I want to ride one of those so bad! Eric -
Actually at SFMM it's been mixed. Most of the time it's OK to re-ride provided no one's waiting for your row or seat, or you can get out and go into another row if it's open. Occasionally, an attendant will tell you to get back in line even if no one's there. Eric

I eat whenever I feel like it. So there ya go. Eric

Laughing Dragon was originally called the Four Winds Steakhouse. I think a better question is how slow the Granny Grand Prix cars go. In 1980, there was the Gold Rusher, Mountain Express, Revolution, and Colossus. Oh, and the Wile E. Coyote Coaster. I've noticed the former turntable in the Ninja station. I think there are still a couple of remnants of the old Dragon track, aren't there? Or did SFMM rip the rest of it out when Ninja went in? I never think to look for it. Eric

Theme Park Review's Spring Party!
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ I wasn't sure before because I had a conflicting event, but that event has moved to a different date, so I'll most likely be there. The party is looking better, too. Eric -
Theme Park Review's Spring Party!

"What happened to all the old people I used to know?" I'll probably be there---and I'm old! Eric -
It was originally claimed that Colossus could run ten trains (five per side). I don't recall if it ever ran that many, though. You could board the Metro inside the tunnel. I've gotten on there many times. The Eagles Flight stations were Shangri-La (at the top of the mountain, the station still there but not used); El Dorado (where Freefall is); and Galaxy (where the Superman tower is). Ninja didn't replace anything, but its station was the upper station for The Dragon, a slow transportation ride that took you from the big station behind Spin Out/Soda Shack up to the top. What was the original name of the restaurant that is now the Laughing Dragon Pizza Co. and what type of restaurant was it? Eric

Montu Batwing Element
ebl replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've logged exactly one ride on Montu (July 2002). I need to get back there and get some more in, along with SheiKra and Kumba, which I missed on my visit because it broke down before I got to it It is interesting that only two B&M inverted coasters have that element. I'd think that it would have made more "appearances," as it were because it's unique and fun. Eric
