Unofficial Solace Roll Call?
ebl replied to Guy T. Koepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's looking more and more like I won't be going to Solace. Chances are, I won't be at the West Coast Bash either. However, I may get out to SFMM for a little while before going over to R&E's place for dinner. Most likely I'll see those of you going to dinner there. Eric -
Funny thing...I rode the Matterhorn at Disneyland all the time, but never liked it because it scared me. (My dad made us kids ride.) Then, in 1971 when Magic Mountain opened, the Gold Rusher was the greatest thing on the planet---or so I thought. Well, that was the bug that bit me and I haven't looked back since. Eric

"watch out ELB! You are aware that you have a beautiful daughter. No doubt, you have to keep those evil boys (Pursuing her) at bay!" (BelizeIt) First off, it's "EBL." Second, thank you for your kind words. Trust me---she's well taken care of. Eric

I went to Taco Bell tonight because I didn't feel like cooking. Finally, I tried that Crunchwrap Supreme. It felt strange eating this giant hexagon, but it was good. Eric

^ I hear ya, Wally! Actually, I wanted two, but having had to almost raise the one I have, I stopped at one. But she's a good one. Eric Diana in front of our house.

Unofficial Solace Roll Call?
ebl replied to Guy T. Koepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just a note: Normally I purchase my Solace tickets on Saturday morning when I get there. However, Steve Berto (ACE rep) e-mailed me and said that Knott's isn't selling tickets that day; you have to pre-order them. Now I'm confused. I think I'll call Knott's and find out. But I'm not sure whether I'm even going this year. Without any behind the scenes tours or industry speakers, it's almost not worth it. OK, so you get a T-shirt, lanyard, some ERT, and a free all-you-can-eat-if-there's-any-left-after-the-ACEers-eat lunch. I have a 31 Flavors coupon for $23.95, good through March. We'll see. Eric -
^ Good for you---the donating, not the passing out. People who donate blood don't know how much they're doing for others. I donate regularly, even with diabetes (it's OK with some restrictions). Eric

"...being from Ventura, I assume you have in fact visited DCA???" (BelizeIt) Actually, I'm from Camarillo, but you got the county right. And, yes, I've been to DCA several times (I was there a couple of weeks ago in fact); enough to allow me a fair opinion: I like the place. It's not the greatest park in the world, but it's a different kind of place. Would Walt have liked it? Possibly; he liked doing "different" stuff (look at Disneyland compared to what was around at the time). But who could know? Walt's gone, and his company has to move on. Eric

"...but it lacks Walt Disney's sole" (BelizeIt) Of course---Walt never walked in that park! [rim shot] Sorry, I had to... Eric

^ I will try those stores. Maybe the store at the gas station/car wash will have it. Thanks for the tip! Eric

Which stores in Southern California carry Vault? I haven't seen it. And is there a diet version of it? Eric

No, I never do...why break tradition? Do you listen to cassette tapes?

^ That clip in your signature still cracks me up, zaney! Earlier tonight, I made six dozen beignets to take to work tomorrow for our Mardi Gras luncheon. They came out great, which surprised me because I had never made them before. And I'm even part French! Eric

I'll only show you the front because the inside is a mess right now (early spring cleaning). And yes, those are giant Christmas lights going across the front. Those were so cool that we had to get 'em. Eric This is what half a million will get you in Southern California.
