^ Eh, you can't trust the Internet when it comes to stuff. Remember that SFMM was supposed to get Bench--The Ride back in 2000. You saw how far that got. Heck, even the benches never came... Seriously, though. I can understand why a transportation ride wouldn't be "marketable." Imagine...TV ads, billboards, newspapers, etc.---"Come to Six Flags Magic Mountain and ride the newww...MONORAIL!" Not exactly gonna fly with most folks. However, if you broaden your horizons a bit, you can see how something that's "not marketable" could make a difference. For example, the park really could use more places to sit; i.e., benches. The benches themselves won't increase attendance, but they come in mighty handy on hot days when guests need to rest their feet after walking all over the park. No benches = nowhere to sit. Parents get tired and want to go home. Will they come back anytime soon? No way---there's nowhere to sit. Now, you add some benches, and those same folks can recharge their batteries, so to speak, will stay in the park longer, and---chances are---will add a meal to the day, a few souvenirs, and at the very least, a cold drink or two. That's something they wouldn't have done without a few minutes' rest. Same goes for a transportation system. The park is big. Such a system saves a lot of walking and gives riders a chance to rest up for more time at the park. I understand where management is coming from---especially because not only is a "new Metro" not marketable, but a new version would have to meet ADA requirements, meaning that elevators and/or ramps would have to be installed at stations, and new trains with flush loading and wheelchair space would have to be ordered. And most likely, the current track structure couldn't support the new trains and would have to be replaced. So, no new Metro. Eric

^ Is that you on the far right? I'm assuming...yes. Eric

^ That's fair; I shouldn't have put a number on it. But too many people are irresponsible with alcohol, so limiting yourself is good advice. Back to peeves: People who "ax" you questions. Like "dis" and "dat" mentioned above, saying "ax" for "ask" is just lazy English. Eric

Sort of borderline...I could be feeling a lot better, but I've been worse. Do they grow strawberries close to where you live?

A nearly car-like animal with both a trunk and a horn. How does a park decide whether to sell Coke or Pepsi? -
^ Neither was fire, but we had XVIII candles on my cake. Eric

No, not a clue. Do you collect spare change in a bucket, can, box, etc.?

"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."* *Jumps occur three times daily except during winter months, when only two jumps occur, and only on weekends. Subject to weather conditions, health and age of the fox, and whether the dog is able to catch the fox.

I have to respond to some of the posts a ways up regarding alcohol. First of all, I'm sorry to hear about that crash. Second: "...but if you are responsible (ie: NOT drinking/driving) and are with people who are also responsible, alcohol isn't that terrible of a thing. I have been drunk many times in my life, and even at my drunkest, I've known better than to NOT put myself behind the wheel and risk my life and the lives of others on the road..." (Bucket) The trouble is, too many don't have such judgment. I don't drink personally, and I have no problem with people who enjoy a beer, a cocktail, or a glass of wine. Maybe two. But beyond that is utterly ridiculous. To get smashed out of your mind is asking for trouble. Sorry for the lecture, but we've lost an unusually high number of kids in our town because of drinking and driving in recent years. Perhaps I'm a bit sensitive, too, because I have an 18-year-old that I'd like to see live to be a ripe old age. Eric

I just realized that I need to get another jar of cashews and one of almonds. But I had a few packs of official Southwest Airlines peanuts from my trip to Reno last weekend, so that'll have to hold me. Eric

I never did visit Opryland. But I did ride a piece of it---Kong at SFDK used to be here and called Hangman. Eric -

That does look like a nice place in a good neighborhood. All the best to your mom...do keep us posted about her. That part at the end of the video about Wendy's and Tim Horton's was...random, but funny. Eric

I'm married with a kid and live in a house near a railroad track with a dog in the back yard and a chinchilla in a cage in the family room. Eric

"...Great Adventure's Medusa when they've dispatched trains with the train ahead still in the cobra roll." (dj snow) In the cobra roll? I thought for safety reasons a train had to reach at least the brake before the next train could go out. That's the purpose of a block brake. EDIT: Never mind...the lift can serve as a block, if I recall correctly. Eric

As long as they don't use Tatsu's second station exclusively for Flash Pass holders, the line will move better IMO. And on another note---I've said this before---if they want people to use the lockers, then get rid of the shelves in the loading area! During my last visit, I still saw people going over to put stuff on the shelves and run back to get locked into the train. That's where a lot of the time is going. Eric

So the game will be called "53 Card Pickup." How did they decide on blue and red for the lights on a police car? -
HE SHOOTS!!! HE SC-- hey...why is there blood...? Eric

I like them both, so I'd have to flip a coin... While riding up the lift of a coaster, have you ever wondered if the chain is the original one that came with the ride?
