  1. Today, I drove from Camarillo to Simi Valley to Ventura and back to Camarillo. In awhile, I'm going back to Ventura and return to Camarillo. By then, it'll be dark and I can get to bed. Eric
  2. Then there was the time I got up, got dressed, and drove to the office---only to find an empty parking lot. Right then it hit me---it was Saturday. Eric
  3. Waaayyy back in the '70s when I was about 16, I awoke suddenly and noticed that it was 2:00. The next day, we were supposed to be meeting at the church to leave for a weeklong retreat, and I got panicked because we were meeting at 2:00. I remember saying, "Hey! We have to get going!" My dad just looked at me like, "Are you nuts?" but all he said was, "It's 2 in the morning." Talk about fooling feelish... Eric
  4. Then the breeze will come from the South Pole instead. If oranges are orange, then why aren't bananas banana?
  5. Does anyone remember the "fireball" on Jaguar! at Knott's? (It was right over the station as the train passed it.) That didn't last very long. Special effects are nice if they're kept going and maintained. Add me to the list of not having DJs in queues. I just don't like prolonged, excessive noise---whatever it comes from---and ride queues tend to have plenty already. Eric
  6. Maybe it's age, but I like Consumer Reports. Knowing about products before you buy is a good thing. I also like Readers Digest. OK, I admit it, I read ACE's RollerCoaster Magazine, too. Eric
  7. "You have to walk out to your plane." (Erik Johnson) It's like that at Bob Hope (Burbank) Airport here, too. Nice TR. I really want to visit Busch Gardens Europe sometime. Eric
  8. I had to laugh at your noting of McDonald's Angus Third Pounder as being a "new" burger. They've been here in SoCal for over a year! Looks like you had a great time at Knott's. It's been nearly a year since I went, so I'm getting ready to go again soon...probably when Pony Express opens. Eric
  9. ^ That station doesn't come in out here for some reason. But I'll go eat dinner anyway... Eric
  10. I thought Journey to Atlantis was a B&M...no, wait---it's just "BM." Eric
  11. I have to admit, however, that even if you're not in the front, it is kinda cool to look down and watch the track and all of the track thingies (brakes, chain, wheels, etc.) on it go by. Eric
  12. ^ Ah yes...the single-digit IQ crowd. If they got any smarter, they'd move up to "stupid." Eric
  13. This might have better as a poll so all eight can be listed. The only one I have not yet ridden is Medusa at SFDK. Of the seven I have ridden, I think I like Riddler's Revenge the best. Eric
  14. I really liked this picture. The building almost looks like a huge backdrop. Sometime...someday...I will get to the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. Eric
  15. ^^ Those horses must have gone back to get the mail! If they can get riders seated and restrained quickly, Pony Express can move a lot of people through there. Eric
  16. I'll just echo what others have said: if you're not in front, then there's nothing special about them. But I won't call the concept "hype." Especially now that B&M is doing their dive machines with floorless trains. That could be intimidating---especially in the outer seats. Eric
  17. ^^ Don't feel bad, Groteslurf. I wasn't aware that there was a term "benji" jump, so I mistook it as a goof. That said, I should be wearing the label for the day. My apologies. Eric
  18. One for each leg, so I'll say...seven. Will your house stay cooler if you leave a fan on or by opening a window?
  19. ^ From a place called BFG. < From a place called California. V From a place called "Lane Closed---Merge Left!"
  20. ^ What was funny---and pretty stupid at the same time---was that how could blood rush to their heads when their heads were pointing UPWARD? Some people should just stay home...FOREVER. Eric
  21. ^ We do know that SFMM's 2009 coaster is supposed to be a "family" ride. So far, I've not heard anyone say for sure that it's steel, so a small woodie could be possible... However, I think it will be a small steel something or other. No inversions, whatever it is. Mark Shapiro has already said he's not much for them. Eric
  22. ^ That's why you do a quick check before you leave the window---or at least the premises. Eric
  23. Often, we had a sub named Mr. Acorn when I was in junior high. He was a real PITA and everyone gave him crap. Eric
  24. No, only SFMM's---the only one left! Does your phone have a camera built in?
  25. That's Mr. Nat King Cole to you, buddy. Does anyone know what the brand LG stands for?
