  1. As many as he damn well please! Why do organizations offer "free" gifts? Isn't "free" what a gift is?
  2. Yes, and I have yet to watch any of his films. Do you save spare change in a jar, bottle, etc.?
  3. Where did the Corkscrew eventually go? Eric
  4. ^^ The first set of X trains did not have such padding on them. It's good to see that the X2 trains do---as promised by Tim Burkhart. Eric
  5. "For me it was always the jerky seat rotations that made for a rough ride on X." (manic monte) If I recall, I asked Tim Burkhart about that and he said that they were going to put padding on the lower part of the seat to cushion the riders' calves. However, I haven't seen any padding on the new trains. Perhaps it'll be added later, but I hope they do something about that. The jerky seat rotations I can handle---it was because of the leg banging that caused me to stop riding. Eric
  6. ^ From South America. < From North America. V From outer space!
  7. I always knew that somewhere there was a locomotive named after me. Eric
  8. ^ Thank you for sharing that. Please wear it at your house, and your house only... Eric
  9. ^ From what I remember in the video of its testing, the 4-D test track had a couple of bunny hops---which the actual ride doesn't---so I'd guess that it stayed at the plant. Eric
  10. ^ My guess is that SFMM may wait to see how the "new" loading system works before adding Flash Pass. Eric
  11. OK, so here I am at almost 3:30am posting on TPR. Why aren't I in my nice, comfy bed sleeping instead? I think it's because I just finished doing the laundry. Eric
  12. The old Long Beach Pike had a wooden mouse that looked similar to the one in Diablo's report. I can just kick myself because it was operating the day I stopped by there (in the early '70s), but for some reason I didn't bother getting on! Now that I have a nephew in Vancouver, I have a reason to get up there and ride all of those coasters. Eric
  13. And away go troubles, down the drain... Eric
  14. His paws are too short, and he can't get the leverage to get any distance on the thing. Why is there a Coke Vanilla Zero and Cherry Zero, but no Lime Zero?
  15. My only problem with Revolution's OTSRs is that they're positioned too high and not vertically adjustable. Tall people fit OK, but it does no good if the restraint is above your ears (I've seen a few riders like that). But while I would like better restraints/newer trains/whatever on Revolution, I agree that there are issues in the park that should take a higher priority. Remember, some of those buildings are pushing 40 years old. Eric
  16. It's quiet around here tonight. Eric
  17. ^ Genesis fan. < Heard of Genesis. V Heard of bathing!
  18. Nice report! All suspended coasters should have those Vampire trains on them. Eric
  19. "I see another shed....fail." (socalMAN123) Oh, I don't know. Maybe if they hung some old tools in there for theming... We pick at this ride for being short, but when you think about it, what more could it really do in that space? I guess it could have gone a little farther north toward Screamin' Swing or added a helix over Bigfoot Rapids, but it'll be OK, I think. At least I'm looking forward to riding it. Eric
  20. Billy Joel, one of my favorites. Anyway... ^ Billy Joel fan. < Billy Joel fan. V Billy goat fan!
  21. After a doctor appointment this morning and a little unsuccessful job hunting, I took a break and headed out to SFMM. I arrived at noon and was done by 3:30. During that time, I rode every coaster in the park (except X2 and Goliath Jr./Percy, obviously). While I could have had multiple rides, I decided to try and get on each one only once. It was a good thing I got Deja Vu in because it closed just as I was leaving (I don't know if it reopened). Longest wait: about ten minutes for S:TE. All in all, a good day. Eric
  22. I think I'm getting a cold. Eric
  23. Maybe they could call it "My First Credit." Eric
  24. "...how does Montezooma's revenge get away with no OTSRs on an inverted coaster, yet Revolution can't?" (Mechanic) If I recall, this question was raised at West Coast Bash. I can't remember the exact answer, but I think Montezooma's Revenge was grandfathered in because it was built before there was such a requirement, and it has had no modifications other than to add seatbelts. Would someone please set me straight if I am not correct here? Eric
  25. No, they need more money because most of them are starving and homeless. Do you pick up pennies you see laying on the ground?
