  1. Jefferson Get a Good Running Start Before You Reach the Cliff. Along those same lines, why did the group choose "Jefferson" rather than "Washington" or "Lincoln?"
  2. The double down was flattened and brake-ified in 1991. It was good airtime indeed---especially when SFMM ran Colossus backwards with the three-bench PTC trains in the mid-'80s. Eric
  3. I think you did a great job with the photos. The place looks amazing at night. Thanks for sharing. Eric
  4. A bit off-topic from the snow discussion, in these pictures, when looking at Colossus, you can actually see the old double-down profile better than the current block brake track. I just found that interesting. These pictures have been incredibly cool (no pun intended this time). As our planet warms (or cools or whatever it's doing), I expect at some point to have a full force blizzard out here. And when that happens, wouldn't it be great for some SFMM insiders to get pictures of the midways and shops decked out in real snow and completely covering the ground? Eric
  5. The amazing thing here is that I actually went to see a movie, something I do about twice a decade. This time, I saw True Grit. I did see the original from 1969. That one was good, but I enjoyed this one as well. Eric
  6. That way, her fans will pound down the doors to see her. Why does the English language have so many words that sound the same, but spelled differently and have different meanings?
  7. "Wow, it looks like SFMM has moved itself to Switzerland or something." (hyyyper) Closer to Intamin, huh? Eric
  8. Bad TV reception and poor Internet connections. Why are there so many different kinds of memory cards (i.e., Compact Flash, SD, etc.)?
  9. Sad to see trains completely stopped at that point on GhostRider. I'm sure that really affects the rest of the ride. The drop immediately following the brake was my favorite part of the ride, too. No doubt I'll make my token visit to Knott's sometime this year. If not at WCB, then sometime after Windseeker opens. Eric
  10. Quite the opposite, actually (speaking from experience). What happens if your phone number's digits add up to a number evenly divisible by three?
  11. I've heard that SFMM has had some heavier snow than what we've seen today---I wish there were pictures of it. Eric
  12. As a kid in the '60s, I was terrified of the Matterhorn ( ), but had to ride it whenever my dad made me. A few years later, Magic Mountain opened and I was absolutely crazy about the Gold Rusher. And I haven't looked back. I only wish that I hadn't been such a wuss in the late '60s because I'm sure my dad would have taken me down to ride the Cyclone Racer at Long Beach. It was operating till late 1968 when they tore it down. Eric
  13. While I do like the new colors on the tower, one thing I've noticed is that the tower seems to blend into the background; it doesn't stand out so much. But maybe that's just me. I found the description of Apocalypse to be kind of funny, with its mention of "state-of-the-art" thrills. Now that the sound system is gone, there's really nothing "state-of-the-art" about that ride anymore---it's just a typical modern wooden roller coaster. Eric
  14. Works on my Google Chrome. Anyway, my opinion is that I'm sure it's a great ride, but I'm not a big fan of inversions. A couple, fine, but 12? No. I'd ride it for the credit and that's about it. Eric
  15. ^ That has been the case, but I got my 2011 Xtreme pass last Sunday, and the booklets are here. As you said, though, unfortunately, the free friend passes are only good on selected days. I wish they'd go back to having even one of them good on any operating day. Eric
  16. If I recall, the sign at Deja Vu says "Spring 2011." That would be at least March. Eric
  17. ^ Just a note, I noticed that one of your locations is Port Hueneme. Next time you're up Port Hueneme way, there's a new Topper's Pizza on Peninsula Drive (the same street that leads to the now closed Lobster Trap at the Channel Islands Harbor) off of Channel Islands Blvd. near the bridge over the channel. They have two of the Coke Freestyle machines. I agree, they're incredible. When I was at Topper's earlier today, I made a Cherry Lime Diet Coke. Good stuff. Anyway, depending on the weather, I may make a trip out to SFMM sometime this weekend. It sounds like it's not that busy. Eric
  18. ^ I wonder how many of those people who are SO HAPPY about 2011 will write "2010" on a check. Eric
  19. I wonder if Kelsey Grammer has any problems with his name... Eric
  20. SFGAd and SFA are only about 150 miles apart. With SFGAd already having Medusa/Bizarro, it almost wouldn't make sense to have a mirror-image clone (which Scream! is) that close. Eric
  21. I wish I still had my grammer. She died in 1987. Eric
  22. As I've said before, I give SFMM kudos for trying out an onboard sound system on a wooden coaster, but I also didn't think it would last because the vibration over time would kill it. And it did. Let's see what they do when Apocalypse comes to town. Perhaps The Green Lantern could have been a Bizarro, being that the Zac-Spin is a rather odd coaster to begin with. Painted purple, it would have fit nicely in the spot they've picked out. Eric
  23. If SFMM ever does a Bizarro makeover, I'll bet Scream! would get it. Eric
  24. Drink the soup, since I don't drink milk. Would you rather have a pet or be someone else's pet?
  25. No doubt there are things on the park's to do list that have a much higher priority. So far, I haven't heard anyone whine about Scream!'s faded colors. Eric
