Free pizza and salad lunch at work tomorrow! Why? Because... Eric
-
No. I have no desire to even get on one at a park. Just not my thing. Do you ever call old boy or girlfriends to talk?

American Coaster Enthusiasts
ebl replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ You can be both a TPR and ACE member. I am, anyway. ACE started as a small group of coaster enthusiasts. Unfortunately, as happens with some organizations, it's had its share of poor leadership over the years. Also, like some organizations, some members get an "I'm better than you" attitude about being part of the club. (Really stupid because anyone can join! ) It's as if somehow we know more and better than everyone else. Some ACE members have become arrogant and flouted the rules at some parks regarding cameras on rides, asking for special privileges, etc. A number of parks do offer perks that you can request, but too many members have gone too far and come to "expect" such things. A few years ago, one ACE member decided she could ride The Raven at Holiday World while standing in the back seat. Needless to say, the train returned to the station less one passenger. I'm sure the people who got to retrieve her body had some interesting comments. And do ACEers like to eat! But remember, though, that there are some great people who belong to ACE. Unfortunately, it's the few who bad ones who spoil the reputation for everyone else. Eric -
Yeah, it's fun. Have you ever scooped up roadkill?
-
Maybe you meant "Hurrica" And, yes, those are painful. I rode one at the Ventura County Fair a few years back. If I recall, we got something like a six-minute ride on it. Eric

I just might try and get down there this weekend or next. Amtrak is convenient, and there's a shuttle from the station directly to the fairgrounds. This may be my chance to finally ride a Star Flyer. Too bad it isn't the 200+ foot one, though. Eric

Because that would be the end of your world...you wouldn't want that, would you? Why is it called "Rhode Island?" It's not surrounded by water. -
^^ You raise a valid point. Perhaps it's worth taking to your local chamber of commerce, city hall, whomever makes the decisions reagarding public transit. And surely you have friends who feel the same way. There's strength in numbers... Eric

Then I might accidentally catch him on some channel and find out who he is. What's a good thing to do with junk mail? -
I've always wondered why it's OK to show bare breasts as long as the nipples are covered with a little black square or blurred. Eric

Because you were either questioning your answer or answering your question. See, they cancel each other out. If they can make peanut butter, why can't they make butter out of peanuts? -

Because "Grey" is neutral and doesn't want to take sides. Why are they called "rainbows" when they look nothing like a bow? -

S&S Sansei Discussion Thread
ebl replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My only concern with this concept is ride capacity. Assuming eight riders per car, and only running, say four or five, it wouldn't eat many people per hour. However, if they did a design with, say, a three-car-train, capacity per vehicle would be at 24 (almost a standard coaster train), and running two or three trains would work. Honestly, it looks like fun. Eric -

Isn't ACE the "gravy train" anymore? Seriously, though I've never ridden the Dipper, I do hope someone can do something with it. Eric -
Your favorite coaster tunnel
ebl replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did anyone mention the San Diego Giant Dipper? That's a good tunnel...at least it was in 2001 when I last rode it. And I think the Santa Cruz Giant Dipper's tunnel is even better. Eric -
Yep...this year! Have you ever held a chinchilla?

Lunch at Wendy's for Diana and me...$6.81. Eric
-
I was waiting for the bus, and when it came, I noticed that it was a 2003 model NABI painted in the MTA's local route color scheme. But I got on anyway. Eric

This is Diana's dream car. She'd kill to have one. A friend had one and let me take it out once...fun to drive! And the others were nice pictures, BTW. Eric

^^^ Accusing me of posting too much here. ^ Has hair on his mind. < Has hair on his head (for now...) V Has drool on his chin!

Diana made it---by the skin of her teeth. Now that she has a high school diploma, she's moving on to college in the fall. And I got almost $1300 in the mail yesterday that I don't have to pay any tax on because it was part of a settlement that was already taxed last year. Eric She made it!
