PTR: Great Adventure April 1st!
ebl replied to Josh Davidson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Now this is how you have to travel!" (Josh Davidson) Agreed, but make mine Diet Coke. Otherwise, nice report. SFGAd is one park I hope to visit sometime. Eric -
"...California Great America has numbered days ahead of it." (AllenA07) I agree. With nowhere to expand, and the San Francisco 49ers wanting to build a stadium, I can see CGA going away. It's always sad to lose any park, but honestly, I wouldn't really miss it (as long as Cedar Fair saves Flight Deck and relocate it). Eric

TPR PENS! (Yes, pens!)
ebl replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Gen-u-ine Amurrrrican donkey hides, not the kind imported from a certain large country on the opposite side of the world that gave us take out food in little white containers... Eric -
TPR PENS! (Yes, pens!)
ebl replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I have to attest to the durability of those Theme Park Review pens. Over two years ago, Robb gave me one and I'm still using it to this very day. Eric -
Favorite first drop on a Steel Coaster
ebl replied to SpectralN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll admit that I do need to get out more, but the first drop on X2 is...insane. Meanwhile, across the park, a great first drop awaits at Goliath as well. Eric -
Photo TR: Scott's Ongoing Sports Venue Thread
ebl replied to BeemerBoy's topic in Random, Random, Random
One of these days, I'll have to break down and visit Staples Center for some event. I never did go to the Forum when the Lakers were there, but I've heard I didn't miss much. The L.A. Sports Arena is...eh. My last visit to Anaheim---er---Edison Field---er---ANGEL Stadium was back in the early '80s, so I can't say how it is now compares to then. Eric -
Funny Things That Go Unnoticed
ebl replied to atem122's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"They're vs. Their" A lot of people I know can't even tell the difference between those two---even around here... I think it's funny when a park has references to past attractions long after they're gone (or should I have said "their" gone? ). Eric -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^ Regarding the coupon, it's better safe than sorry on the park's part. Maybe it'll give us a week or two to enjoy Terminator before it gets too crowded! Eric -
^ Apologetic. < Diabetic. V Schizophrenic!

^ She was found safe and sound...wandering through the hills in the dark...hungry, tired, begging for a drink of water... I'll bet she got a refund. Eric

^ I think he's turning Japanese, I think he's turning Japanese, I really think so, I really think so... Just had a thought...how do we know that what we read in today's paper or see on the news isn't all an April Fools Day joke? Eric

The Habit out here in Ventura County makes a decent burger in my opinion. At one time, they had good chili cheese dogs, but for some reason they pulled their chili off the menu because they thought "it wasn't good enough." Eric

A coaster identical to that Screamin Demon tours the fair circuit. One comes to the Ventura County Fair as "Pole Position." I rode it there a few years back and really didn't enjoy it much. The two lifts are...interesting. Believe it or not, I've never been to Castle Park. Maybe next time I head down to the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Hemet, I'll stop in. Eric

Any SFMM flash pass reviews yet?
ebl replied to TriboElectric's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ X2 has been dispatching trains every 2-1/2 to three minutes. Assuming a full load of 28 people per train, and a three-minute dispatch interval, I figure under 600 people per hour ride X2. The 1600 figure from rcdb.com assumes three-train operation that goes as smoothly as if they only had a lap bar to check. Will not happen on X2. Be glad that they're getting trains out better than on X when it was five minutes per train. Eric -
Actually, I have been to Mexico, just to Tijuana. But it still counts. Would you ever have surgery to lose weight?
-
"she was from the international program" (SharkTums) Just to sidestep the family ride issue for a moment, exactly what is the purpose of the international program? All I've seen so far is ride attendants who can't speak English and seem to need help in performing their duties (in my observation, at least). Eric

Any SFMM flash pass reviews yet?
ebl replied to TriboElectric's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having a $10 charge per ride on X2 with the Flash Pass serves as a deterrent to some who would reserve multiple rides on it, thus slowing down the regular line considerably. I'm concerned about how long a "regular" wait will become for that ride. Eric -
Never, and I don't stay overnight to wait for anything. Have you ever been to Canada?

Just got back from In-N-Out with some friends. Had the Flying Dutchman. I has a happy! Eric

I know I'm talking to the wall here, but it's always worth a shot... Who's = "who is," not the possessive "whose." The following words DO NOT have apostrophes: gets, lets, or any plurals. Thank you for listening. Eric
