Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
spinning man replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not a fan of the colour scheme of the train. The yellow doesn't suit the coaster from my opinion as I can't see any reason for it being in the coaster. They should have used a beige colour and dark blue for the trains to keep close to the logo of the ride. However, I might take back what I said when I see it testing with everything completed, as I may be mistakened. -
I asked my father a favour to take images of the site when he visited Murcia, so he did. Here are the images taken, though not the best. Regardless, they are images of the site. Looking over the images, I see that there is less plants and vegetation then before from my last visit. And as may seem more noticeable, the flags have gone. These images were taken on Thursday 30th January 2014.

TPR New Front Page In Development!

I choose option 1 as it is more social. With all that was originally there, you added something more to it. You could say it is somewhat bonus material. -
Ocean Kingdom in China

Thank goodness the train isn't like wild eagle's trains, where there is a head on every row. I like the colours used and how they are against the green track, very nice indeed. About this park, does anybody know when it is meant to open? I thought it was meant to open this year, unless they open it on the very last day of December. -
Now that the thread was created, those model rollercoaster things come to mind. I do not like those flat tracked inversions on those model coasters. But on full scale coasters, I don't mind them at all. I like the way a inversion is possible on a flat track due to the way it is shaped, as can be seen in the image posted at the beginning.

The thing that I don't like is when I get the train to university. Since I travel in the morning, it is always busy and people like to crowd on the platforms where the doors of the train will be. But the thing that irritates me the most is when my train arrives, people who don't need that train move in front of me as if to go on. Then they just stand there in my way. So I have to around them to go onto the train while they are still standing close to the door on the platform.

Liseberg Discussion Thread
spinning man replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It always intrigues me when a coaster is built on a hilly terrain or on a hill side such as Helix. The design of it and the colour scheme is great for the park. I do have a question about Mack rides though. How smooth are their coasters, or in this case their launch coasters? The only ones I have ridden are runaway mine trains and they are quite rough on the transitions. -
This is my dog, who is called Peggy. It was tricky to try and get a image of her as she didn't like the sound the camera did when focusing, so she kept running away. Luckily I was able to take a image and here it is.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Nice to see this coaster beginning to gain progress. I will be checking back especially for the reveal of the trains which hopefully should be revealed not long after track completion (or before). Looking at the three images Robb posted, I see that in the third image, the support closest to the camera has a different foundation than I've seen before to any other B&M foundation. Are B&M testing a method similar to how Gerstlauer and Maurer Sohne place there supports? It should be interesting to see them use this method on any future projects. -
Negative Gs on public transport/cars
spinning man replied to spinning man's topic in Random, Random, Random
Reading over the last few comments, I remembered my scout group's minibus (it was horrible). The battery kept on running out, so we had to push it which was fun and it was very noisy. But it was the horrid suspension, especially in the back which is the reason for this post. There was so much negative Gs in the back because of very stiff suspension, that one of the seats started coming loose from its location on the minibus itself. Very fun, but painful as well. -
Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
spinning man replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure if this will be technically a rollercoaster, but I has to do something with a rollercoaster. The dream was that I was in the natural history museum in London. As I walked up the stairs, a large majority of the top floor was a facility where a hospital version of The Smiler was. However this wasn't a rollercoaster. I was about to go into the facility which had a entrance of a black and yellow spinning tunnel, with the music playing further into the entrance. I didn't go in however, as I was looking for somebody who got mistakenly taken for something to do with the queen. In another dream I dreamt I was going to go onto The Smiler, since the park was closing and it would be my last ride. However, just as I reached the station, it turned out I was somehow taken to a train station without me knowing and I boarded a high speed train to London. I don't understand my dreams. -
A scene from the iron giant, with the army guy and a toilet door. Fancy face.

If I am correct they design and construct the trains, which is all done near their offices in Switzerland. -
Tripsdrill Discussion Thread

I feel sorry for the people who are nervous on getting on the ride. Instead of people saying kids have ridden the ride, they can now say a baby has ridden the ride. Those trains look amazing. I love how they made the whole theming on the train and the mechanical sections on the train, all look like one. Though I don't know the story of the ride, I love the theming on the train. -
This advert is irritating, especially the speedy cash song. [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/A-Zw1Q2XOIs[/youtu_be]

Cool Sounding Rides

Here is a existing topic that is very similar to this one. If I may be wrong, ignore this post or mods can delete it. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63416 -
The Hollywood Dream coaster backwards thing came to my mind, so I decided to look for a video of it in motion. I found one in the end, and the train looks quite nice. That thing in the bottom left corner of the video though, is going to give me nightmares. [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/BEZQS7aib5c[/youtu_be] EDIT: Unfortunately I posted this in the wrong park forum. But since I can't find the Universal Studios Japan topic, I'll leave this here for the time being. Thanks XYZ for pointing out my mistake.

How did you get your screen name?
spinning man replied to waterviper's topic in Random, Random, Random
Boredom was the way I came up with my name. I think I was thinking about theme parks in general and then this name popped up, spinning man -
As mentioned I think it is safe to check with your doctor as to how things are. But maybe some smooth rides like the B&M wing riders, maybe be fine for you. My mum has suffered back pains for years, and she hadn't ridden a coaster for ages because of a pinched nerve. However when I rode the swarm, I felt it was smooth and not to vigorous. So she rode it and she was fine. Her first inverting coaster if I am correct. I think some B&Ms will be fine for you and any other smooth coaster, as long as the layout isn't too harsh in changing directions so suddenly. That is from my opinion, but it depends how you are and what your doctor says. Hopefully you'll get better soon and begin to ride coasters again.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
spinning man replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think these may be the images you were trying to find. Credit to towersstreet for the images. These pieces seem to be some form of a braking system. I would suggest a trim, but the multiple connections underneath the track make it seem as if that piece won't be able to take much negative Gs, if that was for one of the airtime hills. I think it could be for one of the top of the lifts.
