Came back from the park today. I was placed in the second row (since when do they assign seats on Fahrenheit? Hogwash.) and the rattle in the cobra roll was really pronounced.

Just went to the park today for the first time since 2011. The last time I went, the day before I got rear-ended and so wasn't feeling physically 100% then. But after going on I305 while able-bodied, I think it's now my favorite steel coaster. Oh my goodness that ride is wonderful, but I'm sure you all know that.

Also, I know it's kind of the norm, but the fish-eye lens on this POV is a really odd choice. It makes Kingda Ka look like some weird Tim Burtonesque architecture.

Well I'd say ask him what he prefers. Sometimes in the last few days of school kids are weird and... *gasp* actually want to go. I know I would've wanted to jump at the opportunity.

It's damn annoying if you're right next to them, but I remember it being pretty entertaining when I was part of a dumb teenager group.

That drop is going to be utterly insane in the membrane. I wonder how it'll compare to El Toro's, considering this is straight off the lift whereas ET picks up some speed in the turnaround.

Maybe if Cedar Fair never wants a return on their investment. I'd imagine an original RMC would cost a pretty penny.

Does anyone know of any Kings Island ticket discounts? The park has apparently wised up and deactivated all the ones on RetailMeNot etc., and I'm nowhere near a Kroger to buy their tickets.

As cal1br3tto mentioned, Houdini's Great Escape is a must. It is one of only two Vekoma Mad Houses in the US, and it's disorienting and great fun. And... actually now that I think about it Great Adventure doesn't have terribly many flats. There's a Scrambler and Bumper Cars and a Ferris Wheel all in the same place if that's your thing, and a Top Spin (Twister). The Log Flume is a nice scenic ride and has some interesting history. Oh! If Skyrides count as flats, then they need to take the Skyride if it's open. Not only is it the best way to skip over the uninteresting middle section of the park, but it offers some incredible views of the park. Great photo opportunities.

Pretty much every Six Flags and Cedar Fair park is an 'amusement park'. Though 'theme park' takes less time to say and people know what I mean anyway so I always go with that.

It probably won't look quite so cluttered on the ground. Also I doubt we'll notice that as much when there's an enormous purple and blue coaster beckoning us.

Gotta get that illusion of depth somehow. Plus in that picture, for some reason, the outline of the hand makes the clouds behind it look 2D. Pretty nifty.

I don't think I ever had a BAD ride on SOB. Of course as a general rule, I sit in the front row, or as close to the front of the train as possible on wooden coasters. You've never sat in the back for El Toro? Oh you poor thing.

Probably nothing. The land is cursed. Just salt the earth and move on.

Well most likely Great Adventure and Hershey at least once each. That always ends up happening. *Kings Dominion *Kings Island *Six Flags Great America *Dorney Park (hopefully) *Six Flags New England (hopefully)
