  1. Has GateKeeper really gotten that rattly since it opened, or are people still butthurt over it not having Batman-like forces and look for anything to complain about? I thought it was a really fun ride when I went at the beginning of June, even with the restraint tightening.
  2. Fairly confident it means that the track will be filled, so we'll get another quiet B&M (remember when that used to be unusual? )
  3. Personally I don't even know what an RMC treatment for a simple out-and-back like Rolling Thunder (or for that matter American Eagle at SFGAm) would even look like. Either it's be the same, but steel (what's the point), or make it a twisty layout (then it's not even close to being Rolling Thunder anymore). I'm also of the opinion that Rolling Thunder shouldn't be torn down, but I'm also not in park management.
  4. Got back from the park, and it was about what I expected. Well, Mind Eraser was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The restraints kinda smelled sweaty though, which was unpleasant. Also everything was running one train today. Is there any particular reason that this park has been so neglected lo these many years? I would think that Baltimore and D.C. would be a decent market for some decent rides. Everything just sort of seems like Corporate doesn't really care how the park does. Any thoughts on why?
  5. If you wanna ride Frank, Steve, or David, download the Grindr app.
  6. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! One more thing, is there anywhere decent near the park to get dinner, or should I venture into Silver Spring or DC to do so?
  7. So I'll be going to SFA for the first time this Tuesday? Will the park be crowded on a mid-August weekday? Any particular flat rides or even-slightly-above-average food places? Also I took a wild guess at best/least horrible spots on each ride. How close am I to getting it right? Yes, I'm getting every credit if it kills me (it might). Ride of Steel, Joker's Jinx (?), Wild One (?): Back Apocalypse: Middle Mind Eraser, Batwing, Roar: Front
  8. Well, El Toro has seatbelts, which of course ruins the ride completely So I'm not to worried about this. Now, to find a reason to get down to Texas...
  9. Batman The Ride at Great Adventure is starting to get rough I think. There's always at least one moment of headbanging. That's the only time I can think of where I've experienced a rough invert.
  10. From the official page: " The first female-inspired thrill ride at a Cedar Fair Entertainment amusement park,..." Aaaaand complaints in 3...2...
  11. People absolutely lost their shit when the Banshee logo came up.
  12. I stayed at the Super 8 in Milan with three friends in June. It was perfectly decent and pretty cheap too.
  13. Hello all! I'll be going to Knoebels for the first time (which is nuts since I only live 3 hours away). Any tips or anything? Is the one-day pass worth it? Also, I have heard the food is dericious there, but what are must-eats? Also which rides are the best?
  14. Chocolate World is definitely worth it. I go every time I visit, and always after my visit to the park. It's relaxing to just ride the factory tour ride, plus the song the cows sing will be stuck in your head forever.
  15. I started when I was 4, but then I got super interested once more on a trip to Hersheypark in 2011. I even remember the exact moment, it was right before the first drop on Great Bear.
  16. Are we all really glossing over the story two pages back of the guy who got arrested videotaping children and who had 4,000 rounds of ammunition in his truck?
  17. http://www.hersheyparkstadium.com/event_schedule_detail.php?id=12771 Well... sh*t. Well, as a test I was easily able to find 10 seats in a row in a section, so maybe it won't be that crowded? I'll just rock back and forth and tell myself this.
  18. So I'll be taking a group of 14 people and myself to Hershey on Saturday July 13 (it was the only day we could all go). How bad will the crowds be on that day? Also are there any places to eat somewhat reasonably healthy at Hershey aside from Subway?
  19. Hershey in 2 weeks. Then Knoebels, Six Flags America, and Kings Dominion in August. Gonna be a busy month!
  20. I also thought Mean Streak wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... and it's certainly not Stockholm Syndrome for me, it's only the third time I've ever ridden it. The trim on the brake is extremely noticeable, and the ride itself is just not that interesting. It's mainly spent waiting for it to be over. They really need to do something about it. Iron Horse would be nice, but it would be nice to see a woodie stay in that spot... maybe a prefab?
  21. If Vekoma is the "budget" model, and a park would want a hypercoaster as the hot new thing but wouldn't want to spend too much cash, then why not use Vekoma? May it's the bad rap they have?
  22. It unscrambles to come back in a couple months and we'll announce our new ride. Maybe Snickers will be a sponsor. Maybe that person just likes Snickers. They are pretty tasty... I could go for a Snickers right now.
  23. Does B&M design the wingrider trains or is that contracted out to someone else?
