  1. My local parks are Kings Dominion (about 15-20 minutes away), and Busch Gardens Williamsburg (about 45 minutes away).
  2. Verbolten at Busch Gardens Williamsburg last Sunday.
  3. When I rode Nitro last month, the airtime was still fantastic as usual, but the ride had felt a lot rougher compared to the last few years. Hopefully SFGAdv can fix the issue one way or another...
  4. SFGAdv has more than a "few" good coasters. Sure, not all of them are world class coasters like the ones you mentioned, but all of them are at least somewhat enjoyable. There are far worse coaster collections out there.
  5. Last soda I had was Mountain Dew - Code Red, my favorite soda ever!
  6. TOGO and Golden Horse collaborating to build a coaster! What's worse than a huge earthquake hitting Cedar Point and destroying all of their coasters?
  7. I thought black track with blue supports would look unique, since there aren't many, if ANY, coasters with that color scheme. Looking forward to the announcement in a week! I'm extremely anxious to find out what Kings Island has in store!
  8. Plenty of interesting things have been said on KI's facebook update regarding the 2014 attraction announcement including... ...and another by the same person that wrote the last one.... Hmm.. Interesting!
  9. Had a pretty good day at the park today, with decent wait times, and an overall enjoyable park experience. I arrived at the park at around 11:30 and first rode Loch Ness Monster which only was about a 15 minute wait with two trains running. I just have to say...BGW has either done an excellent job taking care of the ride, or Arrow designed it at their best, because it is one of the smoothest (yet one of the oldest) Arrow loopers that I have ridden. Bravo BGW/Arrow! Shortly after I walked around a bit and rode Escape from Pompeii, which to me is a fun water ride, but not the best (although the theming is some of the best that I have seen in a water ride). The ride was a walk-on for a good portion of the day, which was surprising considering it was 90 degrees out. We eventually then rode Apollo's Chariot at around 12:45-ish, which had a 10 minute wait, and was nearly a walk-on shortly afterwards. This ride is definitely my favorite ride in the park and is my favorite B&M coaster. It had some great amount of airtime, and surprisingly had a pop of some powerful airtime on the final drop of the ride. B&M did a nice job with this one. After Apollo's Chariot we went to the Oktoberfest area to ride Verbolten. It had a 20 minute wait, so I figured that I would go ahead and ride. In my opinion, the theming in the indoor portion of the ride was spectacular and very well done. The ride is definitely the "funnest" ride at BGW, and is definitely a very great ride, with my favorite parts being the launches and the drop section. After riding Verbolten, I decided to go ride Alpengeist, which is one of the most "unique" inverted coasters that I have been on, with a very original layout. It wasn't too intense, but it was still a pretty thrilling ride, in my opinion. I then rode Griffon which is probably my second favorite coaster at the park. I love B&M Dive Machines, and the two vertical drops and the two loops were fantastic! The rest of my day consisted of me re-riding most of the coasters except for LNM, and riding the parks log flume, Le Scoot, which is a pretty decent log flume, and me riding some of the parks flats that they have to offer. Here are a few pictures of my visit.... And sorry that the picture quality isn't the best..I only had my phone with me to take pictures A nice picture of my favorite ride at the park. Verbolten's drop towards the Rhine. Oh yeah...Guess who wasn't working properly today again?? Go ahead...guess. A picture of Griffon doin' it's thing. Oh Mach Tower and your broken catch car....shame.
  10. Floater airtime! Soft Serve or Frozen Yogurt?
  11. Highs are around 80 degrees today in VA. Feels SO much better than the last two weeks where the heat index has reached around 105-110 degrees!!
  12. Probably Kingda Ka or Hypersonic XLC for me... Both of those launches are, and were, INSANE!
  13. Scariest rides for me personally are probably Drop Towers. Sitting there waiting for the thing to drop is horrible for me.... As for coasters, Kingda Ka scared the living crap out of me when I rode it for the first time. Sitting there waiting for that 128 MPH launch is frightening, as is the 400 foot plunge to the ground if you're afraid of heights.
  14. I don't know if anyone else has seen, but CNN reported that a third person has died from injuries from the plane crash.
  15. My worst coaster experience to date has to be my horrible ride on Green Lantern at SFGAdv in the pouring rain. The headbanging plus the rain feeling like needles hitting my face made it THAT terrible.
  16. I rank Apollo's Chariot right where I rank Nitro. AC is a great coaster, with lots of airtime!
  17. My two favorites are both chain parks. Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Six Flags Great Adventure.
  18. Only 2 for me, Hypersonic XLC at Kings Dominion and Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
  19. Hurler at Kings Dominion for me. I can think of many other things that could use that space better than that big hunk of firewood does.
  20. Six Flags Great Adventure on Monday!!! Looking forward to more rides on Kingda Ka and El Toro
  21. The biggest rumor going around for KD's 2014 project is a WaterWorks expansion. I would like to see them transform it into a Soak City or Wildwater Kingdom
  22. My favorites in order.... 1). El Toro's infamous "Intamin Fart". 2). Volcano as the train launches. 3). Kingda Ka's hydraulic launch. 4). Drop Tower's (KD) 'VROOM' sound as it hits the brakes.
