and if you ride in the afternoon, they load the deer feeders, and you'll likely see a lot of them on the train ride! -

well, crap. . . after last night's set up episode for the finale? the character I'm most concerned for now is Glenn. (I still think either Carol or Sasha are in trouble too). . but Glenn basically threatened Nathanial (is that his name?). . and then they showed that HE'S the one who swiped Rick's hidden gun. also factor in that. . . spoiler space more spoiler space. . . even more spoiler space. . . Glenn is dead in the comics? and I'm very concerned for his well being

Advice for Texas-New Mexico Road Trip
bert425 replied to Voyager6442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
TPR has POV video of it: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] but honestly, if you're going to parks with Iron Rattler, Titan, and New Texas Giant, not sure why you'd want to blow a whole day just to re-ride this one. unless you really like Wood coasters? in which case, I'd recommend instead of leaving San Antonio for Dallas via I35, instead take I10 and detour thru Houston (it *will* take you a good 3 1/2 + hours out of the way, but from Houston, you're a very short drive to Kemah for the Boardwalk Bullet: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] (and only 30 minutes further to the Pleasure Pier in Galveston -- no woodie there, but some fun rides). but from Kemah, you can then take I45 as a straight shot from Houston to Dallas. -
Advice for Texas-New Mexico Road Trip
bert425 replied to Voyager6442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
ABSOLUTELY you want a day between Fiesta/Seaworld, and SFoT. the drive up I35 is about six hours (if no construction, and there is ALWAYS construction. .so expect it will take you between 7 & 8 hours). I would use the day to stop at ZDT outside of Seguin, spend an hour or two there, then continue on to Dallas/FW (maybe stopping in Austin to see the Capitol, or Waco for the Dr. Pepper Museum. . or heck, even the Dallas Zoo that you'll pass on the way into the city). then relax that evening and start your last day all refreshed for SFoT. just my 2cents. -
Last night saw an AMAZING free show from SXSW: Gateway Drugs, Swervedriver, and The Church Swervedriver: The Church:

The Tale of the Grow Walk ….Hunh? photo Report
bert425 replied to jenseib's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not me...Part of the fun for me is pictures. I love taking them and I love to edit and look at them after the trip. It's part of my vacation experience. hehe. . I think you would make me CRAZY if we were traveling together, cause although I take pics too (like you, with a real camera, not my phone) I hate stopping so often to snap pics. but I'd be totally lying if I said I didn't like seeing your trip reports. Heck, I eagerly look forward to them, and LOVE that you take so many pics. keep on snapping, Jenseib! -
It's Texas, and although it's not near summer yet, expect long lines on a weekend, in particular for the water rides(so yeah, Roaring Rapids, and El Assarradero (either side, since both flumes appear to be open this season) will have long waits no matter what time). So I'd save the water rides for last. the two "coasters" that will have long waits will be Pandemonium, and La Vibora -- and unfortunately, they are opposite directions from the park entrance. Judge Roy never had much of a line, but the re-tracking (and that it's at the front of the park), might get it to have a slightly longer wait this year. personally, i'd go for the bobsleds (La Vibora) first as soon as you get in the park, as once that line gets long, it NEVER gets shorter (unless you are doing single rider line). Then hit Pandemonium thruout the day whenever you see the line starting to be short (the loading on this is terrible, but sometimes the line does get short). The non-coasters you list will all be walk on, or short waits (in particular, Rodeo NEVER seems to have a line, as it's kinda hidden down a cut-path near the flumes). I personally find Space Mountain more intense than Runaway Mountain, simply due to the "effects". . Runaway Mountain is fast, but dark. . so you won't know what's coming. and although I know you'll be there as a family, and the kiddo will likely find it too intense, you really, really SHOULD try to get on Shockwave yourself, as it's an amazing coaster, and the line moves fast. maybe send your wife and kid up to the Oil Derrick tower (near the entrance of Shockwave's queue) so they can enjoy the breeze and the views, while you get to ride? Titan, Giant, Mr. Freeze, and Batman are likely too intense for the little one, and the lines will be lengthy enough you won't want to leave the family to get on (a shame as all 4 are quite fun). .but hey. . family time have a great time!

Holeeeee crap on a stick. two super gory deaths (one a clear homage to "Day of the Dead". .I was half expecting the character to shriek "Choke on em!" easily could have been the finale, so can't wait to see where they go!

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but we've had a rough 2 months weather wise. lots of very cold weather, and a lot of rain (tho it all falls in areas that don't need it, so don't replenish the lakes). so although it's true Texas usually does have milder winters, the weather this past few months has been pretty unpredictable and/or bad.

I thought they were called..."The Whisperers?" But I havent caught up in the comics yet. The Whisperers are the current threat in the comic (and we still don't know their whole story yet). the Wolves (AkA the Scavengers) are folks in the comics that are turned away from Alexandria (remember, you have to be invited in). . and in the comics at least. . . spoiler space ..... they attack the city, but Rick's group (which had recently been accepted into the community) makes quick work of them. . which is why I didnt' remember them right off the bat. Dunno if that's the way the battle will go in the TV show, as they seem to be much more coordinated here. . but spoiler space just in case

I just read that last night myself. Pretty stoked for a Prequel series. Hopefully it will give us much more insight to how everything went down. We really just get thrown into it in the comic book series and in the television show. But I have this feeling that Darryl isn't going to make it out of this season alive. I feel like they are setting him up for his end. But we will see how it all plays out. Needless to say, I am very stoked. They say the season finale will be an hour and a half?? There is ZERO chance that Darryl isn't going to make it out of the season. He's the most popular non-comic character on the show. I do have concerns for a couple of others tho. . . in particular, a character who was put in place of another in the comic, but now seems to be getting replaced as well. We shall see. On the plus side, I'm hearing rumblings that we *won't* be seeing Negan until the end of next season, and that the bad guys we're going to encounter are spoiler space . . "the wolves" which of course has me slapping my head in stupidity, since there was a phrase spray painted on Noah's community saying "the wolves are coming" and then Darryl pointed out the "W" carved in a walker's head. so yeah. . . the antagonists were right there in front of us, even if we haven't seen em yet

Once Upon A Time - TV Show Discussion
bert425 replied to B&MBoy1982's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm happy they gave Cruella powers of some sort (as undefined as they are)..she needed SOME kind of magical abilities to hold her own next to Maleficent. Ursula is not really working for me. . but willing to give it time to see if she gells. -
take a page from Dan Savage. the best response when someone claims it's a choice is to say: "Prove it. Get over here right now, and choose to be gay with me. I'll drop my pants, you get on your knees and prove that you can CHOOSE to be gay" they will always back off.

Don't forget that Fiesta has an included waterpark, so bring a suit. in July? Yeah, you'll want to make a stop to the waterpark section of the park

Thank you for including the food pics/menu pics! love it. -
yeah, i've never done a Flash Pass in Fiesta. really, the only Coaster that is extremely slow loading tends to be "Pandemonium". . the rest of the coasters are basically people-eaters, so don't get discouraged by long lines. NON-Coasters tho?.. . expect long lines (the entire day, in particular if it's sunny) for Bugs Bunny Rapids (LOVE this flume, but the line sometimes takes over an hour, even early in the day), Gully Washer (a so-so roaring rapids), and the Skyscreamer (the line queue will fool you because it LOOKS short.. it never, ever is. . but this is a unique one as it's just next to the quarry wall, so it's fun to ride). it's too bad you aren't going a little later in the season, as once the Waterpark section opens, it really drains folks away from the "dry" areas of the park (Fiesta has really good, fun options in their waterpark section, and that Texas shaped wave pool holds a LOT of people).
