  1. both Twister and Phoenix as smooth as hell, and didn't jostle us around at all. loved em both. . but Phoenix is the better of the two
  2. I've heard good things about this ride, too--not to mention Iron Rattler. I'm curious to see what S&S does with the "Zacspin" type ride. I really liked Insane at Grona Lund (which surprised me). Poltergeist is a don't miss too. . and the Road Runner Express at Fiesta really chuggs along fast!
  3. We've started getting emails to "stay one last time" . . . um. . no thank you
  4. Fiesta Texas seems to have a one of the better upper-management teams in chain. I was surprised as hell they called me too! I felt comfortable asking, since they send me so many email surveys, and they always say to just email back if I have any questions or comments. (and Robb, I did not in any way, shape, or form imply or say anything about Theme Park review. . only that I saw a picture of the ride covered up on it's slab and that the Fiesta Texas website showed it as not-operating, so asked status, as it's one of the rides we really like in the park)
  5. I could be wrong but isn't that what a waveswinger (Whirligig) looks like while in rehab? SFFT covers it in a tarp I'm assuming. I have absolutely no idea! That is probably all it is. Here's some interesting Customer Service. since it's my "local" park, and I'm always getting surveys from them, I simply emailed them this morning to ask about Whirligig: is it moving? getting re-themed? and they just called me (from San Antonio), and assured me the ride is not moving, nor getting replaced, and that it's just in the middle of ride-maintenance and will be back up and running soon. so mystery solved (even tho the topper sticking out from under the tarp looks different than the German themed Whirligig does. . . so I'm betting a slight re-theme is involved here). Interesting that they called me tho. . .
  6. they haven't announced anything new. is it possible we're just seeing a re-theming here? that COULD just be the new topper being worked on. .similar to this: and they've just tossed a tarp over it.
  7. I'm liking it so far. . but surely someone would have told them that Twinks tend not to go for Twinks. . the gay blind date couple will NEVER speak again after the show is over but it does seem some couples are hitting it off. Very disappointed on who went home first, but at least the couple who SHOULD have gone home first, went home 2nd. and they really deserved to -- missing your train when you're already in last place -- because you stopped to take a selfie with the train? To stupid to compete on this show. buh-bye. but enjoying it thus far.
  8. Except during Pon Farr! Plays every year at Dragon*con on their hotel channels: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  9. SPOCK!!!!!!! He always came across as such a dignified man R.I.P. Mr. Nimoy http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/arts/television/leonard-nimoy-spock-of-star-trek-dies-at-83.html?_r=0

    2015 Trips

I'm still hoping y'all decide to do a small trip after all. . i'd love to leave the partner at home with the dawgie and join y'all on a short vacation
  11. Yes, it's the "Walking Dead" of TPR threads. I just realized that Neville from Harry Potter. for some reason, I thought that was from Cabin in the Woods.
  12. Great! We'll get you a list of people and then we'll get right on posting that content! just make sure they aren't in Austin. . we have a plastic bag ban here, and I'd hate to waste my TPR reusable bags on body parts
  13. 1. Do you have your videos set to auto-play on your: a. desktop computer and/or b. mobile device? (or if you don't know, just tell us if the videos auto-play or not in your newsfeed.) No mobile device (my cell is a flip phone) . . but I do NOT have them set to Auto-play on my computer. I have to click play to trigger them. 2. Do you regularly "share" content from Facebook "page" (like the TPR page) to your own personal Facebook page? And have you shared something from the TPR page? I occasionally share content from Facebook with my friends via my own page (but rarely post to a friend's wall something). I have shared many things from TPR, but always on my own page. 3. What kind of content are you most likely to share? (Videos, Photos, News Stories, etc?) I tend to share Videos from TPR. News stories (mainly political) from other places. 4. How long on average do you watch a video posted to Facebook for? Do you watch the entire video? First 30 seconds? Until you get bored? typically most of the way thru, unless I really like it, in which case, I watch it multiple times (and then end up sharing) 5. How important are "video thumbnails" to you? (the image you see with the > Play icon before you click to watch a video) I'd say VERY important. It's the "hook" to make me want to click on the video! 6. What do you like/dislike about Facebook? What features do you use the most and which ones annoy you? Hmm. . I guess I like that my settings tell me when someone responds to my comments/posts? But really, I'm not the person who will give you a good answer here. . I'm not super adventurous, so once my partner set me up on FB, I just use the settings I have and get used to them. 7. Is there anything that TPR does or doesn't do on Facebook that you think we should be doing more/less of? I LOVE the irreverent attitude, in particular on the FB posts.. . but I know that a lot of folks simply *don't* get it. what would I like to see more (some) of? I'd LOVE to see videos from inside some of the restaurants, or of the food options at the parks. . particularly EPCOT food and wine. . would kill to see the real time reactions and descriptions of some of the foods y'all are trying!
  14. Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans August 29, 2005. Aside from that did you really need to create a separate thread to make your statement? How is this a 10 year anniversary? it's Feb 25th 2015 now. . so still ~6months away. Don't quote me....I just corrected thatGuyfrom Tennesee's error on the date. LOL He had started a new thread "aka: Re: Six Flags New Orleans - 10 Years since Death." so a moderator combined the threads. In any case, the park needs to be torn down. LOL. .no worries! I just quoted both of y'all because you were both showing August dates

  16. I don't judge, but not something I would ever do. I can advise (as I know lots of folks with them), don't go larger than 4 gauge, or you'll forever be sitting down to pee (the spatter goes everywhere with the larger gauges).
  17. RIck heard kids playing over the wall. I think it's just to keep the question "are they good guys or bad guys?" going for as long as possible
  18. I think in the TV universe, they've adopted an attitude of all together or nothing (Aaron quoted Glenn's line about surviving TOGETHER).. so I think that's why the "vote" to go check out Alexandria. I was very pleasantly surprised to have Aaron plant one on Eric right away and have that be the deciding factor for most of the group that Aaron is a good person. I figured they were gonna hold off on the revelation he's gay until later in the episodes, and then just casually have him introduce Eric to "our" characters. I enjoyed the episode very much. . LOL, tho the scenes for next week really do spoil how the "interview" is gonna go next week. spoiler. . . . it shows Rick looking at empty houses (meaning they are accepted and welcomed to pick out any house they want to stay in).
  19. My sister just landed their yesterday and sent me a photo of the Circus Circus sign as that is where we used to go when we were kids as it was really the only place on the strip that our parents COULD take us. So that got me thinking about how many of the old Vegas hotels on the Strip are left since I was a kid during the 80's? I could only come up with a few: Circus Circus Flamingo Hilton Riviera Caesar's Palace Tropicana (although not like the old Trop) Bally's (formerly MGM Grand) Hilton (although not on the Strip) Of those, Flamingo is no longer a Hilton. . it's just the Flamingo. Hilton is no longer the Hilton (it was H2 last time we were in town). Slots of Fun is still there next to CircusCircus -- but like Tropicana, they have totally re-done it, so it's the same in name only these days. what about Monte Carlo?. .that's still there. As is Harrah's -- tho they totally re-did the riverboat theme. Freemont has held up a bit better, with several of the classics still around: Binion's, Golden Nugget, Plaza. .
  20. I know Elissa said not to do round trip, but we loved our 7 day round trip sailing from Vancouver up to Hubbard Glacier (with stops in Kechikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Skagway) on Celebrity. Great food too.
  21. yeah, it's a terrible layout -- did you go back to the part of the casino in the hallways around the pool, and towards the convention center? we always walk to the strip from the LVH monorail stop, so always cut thru the Riviera. but it's in bad, bad shape. Really a decline from even 10 years ago.
  22. Just finished a survey for Six Flags (I get them occasionally). .and one of the set of questions was about the Flash pass. Have I heard of it? How much would I be willing to pay for one? How likely would I be to purchase one for $100 per person? (and of course, the questions sold the hell out of the benefits). so Six Flags is doing research into raising the prices.
  23. agreed.
  24. I brainfarted here. .I meant Aaron, and typed Jesus (I mixed up the two gay (and awesome) characters from the comic in my head)).
  25. yes, she came out a while back. She was with her partner over 20 years.
