I'm going off Tony's tweet and saying it'll be named and themed to a runaway locomotive. I like that idea the best. A locomotive RMC train would look sick. -

^I thought that RMC's track mounting brackets were free to swivel and not locked, which would mean we won't know the angle until the ledgers are on the structure, but who am I to know how RMC does things? I'm just glad RMC Mean Streak is finally happening. -

They STILL have the SOB trains?? Even parts from the original ones? Man, I would've thought the Gerstlauer's would be sold off by now. -

From what I understand, the GTA's rank coasters factoring in things like comfort, reliability, and reridability, not necessarily intensity. It's a different audience for sure, but when you see that, it makes sense why B&M coasters rank so high with them. Frankly I don't care. Never have. We enthusiasts may never think of them as "accurate", but I've seen parks call the GTA's the oscars of the industry, so like them or not, they seem to be a big deal to parks, who get some free marketing from Amusement Today. -
I figured I'd bring up this story I typed in another thread here just to add to the Superman discussion. It does need help really badly. In all my years of going to the park (and I've been a lot), I don't think I've ever seen both sides of the station going, ever. Maybe during media day in 2002 (wasn't there, but saw pictures), but that's it. Either Six Flags just doesn't want to staff enough people to run both sides, or they don't have enough people wanting to get hired for the job. Maybe both. I really wish Six Flags would up their game with maintenance and operations in general. Of course, not working in the industry myself, I have no idea how that would happen, but their has to be a reason they fall behind Cedar Fair so blatantly in those departments.

Yay more love for my Six Flags! I haven't been back in a couple of years, and I miss Goliath! I agree it's also my favorite B&M hyper as well as my all time favorite hyper coaster. Also Mind Bender is my favorite in the park. I could seriously stay on it all day. I've always appreciated how much of the original park features (the vine covered walkways, buildings, attractions etc.) remain in the park to this day. It's such a beautiful park being one of the original Six Flags parks. That being said, boy do they need help with ride maintenance LOL. Funny story about Superman since you brought it up. There was one time I was in line for the ride a few years ago. They closed the ride for a few minutes to put a second train on, so the train rolls out of storage, stops at the block before the station, and one of the cars DISLODGES FROM ITS FLYING POSITION. I'm pretty sure I was the only one in line who noticed. That is until they tried to roll it into the station and the dislodged car tried to line up with its guide rail, making a loud BANG in the process. It wasn't until then that the crew saw what was going on, and they put the train back in storage and continued one train ops. A complete waste of time for guests in line and a horrible reminder of how bad Six Flags maintenance can be. Anyways, glad you enjoyed yourself!

Can't say I didn't see this coming. I never saw the point of keeping WildWater Kingdom open when the rest of Geauga Lake was shuttered forever. I'm guessing Cedar Fair was losing money trying to keep it open. -

Count me in on agreeing that Mystery Mine is a beautifully done coaster. Probably one of the best themed coasters I've ever come across outside of Disney and on par with several Universal coasters. Plus I have almost no problems with roughness. The more I ride it, the more little things I find and appreciate. The thing that really sells the ride for me is the intentionally awkwardly banked track in the beginning of the ride. It's a small detail, but it shows that Dollywood and Gerstlauer really worked hard together to make it feel like you're in a real mine. You could argue that Mystery Mine is the best "mine train" coaster ever created. It's a gem, especially for those that really enjoy heavily themed coasters like me. -

Looks like the same slide tower going into Knott's. Edit: Wait! We have a name change! Cedar Point Shores! -
...huh? Meaning that instead of experiencing zero-g's at the peak of a hill, riders experience negative-g's, practically throwing them out of their seat. Being the result of going over a hill at higher speeds, instead of floating in your seat, you are thrown against the lapbar. Many RMC coasters implement it, as well as B&M hyper and giga coasters. It is most noticeable during the latter half of GhostRider, after the former MCBR. Pretty sure he was just confused at the contradicting report compared to what others have said about the ride.

At that time RMC had a VERY small workshop to manufacture the track pieces. They could only build one, maybe two pieces at a time. Since then they have moved into a new, much bigger facility and have hired a lot more staff to make many more track pieces at a time. If Cedar Point is waiting to do an RMC conversion until 2018, I think it's more likely that the park just wants a nice large buffer zone of time to work out any kinks in the project and have the ride ready for opening day. -

^It opened right around 10:30 today with 2 trains. Then went down to 1 after operating for about an hour. The wait was consistently around 30 minutes all day until the last 90 minutes of park hours where it went down to like 5. The ride went down a couple of times, but for the most part it was open all day. I would say just get in line early and wait it out. They had it up and running fairly quickly today and now seem to be finding their rhythm. -

HOLY MOTHER OF AIRTIME Lightning Rod is amazing!!! Just got off! Best wood coaster in the States? I think many will think so. The main feeling I got from it was that it felt like it got faster and faster and the airtime got stronger and stronger all the way up to the end. Brilliant coaster. Absolutely brilliant.
