  1. I'm on the short side (5`5 on a good day) and have noticed the only coasters I really have a hard time on is Arrow multi-loopers. My ears tend to take a major beating on those rides, and I think being taller would remedy the problem. I've never had a problem on SLC's, other then normal Vekoma roughness. Actually for some reason of all rides that I've had a hard time with, it's Ninja at SFMM. Not sure why but that thing has always enjoyed giving my head a beating. With that said it is among my favorite rides in the park, just likes to bash my head in.
  2. ^I agree, I would rather be able to talk to those in line with me, rather then listening to loud techno music.
  3. As Lance says on there, it'll be interesting to see if SFMM does add that effect how long they'll keep running it for. I imagine it is an expensive (though cool) effect to maintain.
  4. To me the entire concept of a Floorless coaster is just a nice little perk on the standard sit down design. With that said, I like sit down loopers, therefore losing the floor adds that much more to the ride. I think inverts however give much more of a thrill then do the floorless coasters, however I enjoy both.
  5. Someday I'm going to get myself ESPN magazine, however as of right now I read one called the Federalist Papers... It's a political organization I'm a member of and they send out a magazine once every few months. I do need something a tad bit more entertaining!
  6. When I was in my early teens (the age many people on here seem to be) I was an awkward, short, fat, weird guy. Girls had no interest in me at all, despite my best attempts. The one thing that I got out of all of it was that I was wasting my time at that age. Seriously don't bother trying to have a girlfriend when you're like 12-13 (and all those terribly awkward years in that region). When I was that age I really think the only reason I wanted a girlfriend was because I was supposed to have a girlfriend, if that makes sense. I won't claim that I had much luck in the dating game, I dated a few girls, most of whom I never liked, I just dated them for the sake of dating. However I did figure out that it's not worth changing yourself to try and impress anybody, because the old version of you always will manage to seep back out. BTW: As Wes has pointed out, you started dating a girl at 10 and it lasted 4 years? Really?
  7. ^That doesn't count because you've left the realm of the site, where most of us at least have a general knowledge of the industry.
  8. ^Actually wasn't there a stabbing in the Batman line over somebody cutting several years back? I can't recall if the stabbing lead to death, however it sure did not make SFMM look good.
  9. Actually when I said that I was surprised that schools were allowing (and even helping with this) is because I figured that they would claim that it was the event would cause a substantial interferences to the mission of the school. It would be very interesting to see what would happen if one of the punished students were to sue to the school over the punishment. One one hand the student could argue that the school has interfered with his freedom of speech, whereas the school could argue that the event cause a substantial interference. I honestly have no idea how a court would come down on an issue like that.
  10. ^Don't be silly, they'll have lockers for those items. In all reality I just don't see this park coming to fruition anytime soon. I do believe that Dubai has a good chance at getting a big park way before Baghdad.
  11. I will admit to being a bit of an inversion whore. While they are a bit on the gimmicky side, I've always really enjoyed rides with a lot of them. For the record my first inversion was Revolution at SFMM.
  12. I'm surprised to hear so many schools actually supported this. I would have thought most schools was would have taken a stance of neutrality towards the event.
  13. I could so do that! Really though, I agree that this is taking place at the wrong park. Maybe Robbie missed the memo about the ride at Six Flags St. Louis.
  14. Santa Clarita schools used to have a a night at the park when I was in High School, I never actually attended it however. However it is very common for the park to do things such as grad nights. We had a Physics Day at the park when I was in High School, one of the things we had to do was measure that maximum G-Force on a handful of coasters. After spending 10 minutes trying to get the device to work, I got bored and just told everybody the answers from memory... It was at that moment I decided that I knew an unhealthy amount about SFMM.
  15. I know that it really did exist, other then that there really isn't a whole lot of information on it. Try wikipedia, I do believe they have an article on there, but I don't recall it having much information.
  16. I can't believe that I'm the first one to throw this out, but do these baby rides count as a credit? I'm thinking it's good for a half credit.
  17. It's an interesting idea, but I think it's going to be too impractical for most people to do.
  18. I really think this might be the cutest thread ever on TPR.
  19. ^Just making sure I'm right here, the Dolphin show at SFMM was held in Mystic lake correct?
  20. ^^I got in Lindsey Lohan's way once, and she proceeded to shove me out of the way. I turned around (not knowing what smacked into me) to tell the person to watch where they're going (in not so nice of words) but opted not to when I saw who it was that shoved me... Not that I wouldn't have enjoyed telling her off, but her body guards were much bigger than me.
  21. Riddlers Revenge at SFMM has failed to complete its course a couple of times. It doesn't happen a lot, but all coasters occasionally valley.
  22. I've never seen Deja Vu valley in that spot, I wonder what caused it. I remember that twice before Deja Vu opened I personally was on hand to catch it valley in the Cobra Roll. I know that has been a problem (despite it being a very shallow cobra roll!) for them, hence the evacuation platform they'd eventually end up installing. Never seen it get stuck between the loop and the lift however.
  23. So far they have not done it, if they did I'd just whine a bit and take care of it. They can collect from me what I don't owe them.
  24. I've sent California notice over 5 times now that I've moved, and yet I've been told they are going to send me to collections to collect my registration fees.
  25. When I was 12 I went to SFMM with some daring friends... I recall on that visit I was very dismayed at the fact that there were no lines so I got stuck riding everything, when my idea of a thrilling ride was Gold Rusher. Within a few hours of getting home from that trip I was online looking at coaster sites, and now 10 years later I'm still on coaster sites. Point being, basically it's not always such a bad idea to get on some of those bigger rides that scare you.
