To be fair though Eric, the park is a lot better today then it was say 5-6 years ago when a majority of that bashing was taking place. You'll have a great time at the park, it has always had a great collection of coasters and now that many other improvements have been made it really is a fun place to visit.

SFGAm Guiness World Record(s)
AllenA07 replied to Mr. Starr's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My head is filled with so many questions about this... I mean I just see so much that can go wrong with this. -
I don't think they are in any danger of going anywhere, but on the other hand I think they are still a good 4-5 years away from having a chance to compete.

As long as I've watched Hockey they boo Bettman. Generally most fans will give in and at least not boo for a visiting team that has one the cup, often they will even include a small amount of applause (and a lot for certain players!). Overall this was a great series. I'll admit that I did jump on the Pen's bandwagon. Mostly because they were the worst team in hockey a few years back and it gives me hope that someday I'll get to see my Kings hoist the cup.

Six Flags should be fine as long as they do things correctly at this point. They do seem to have decent leadership in place now, and I don't expect that this is going to become any worse. What I would be curious to see now is how skittish certain creditors are going to be when dealing with Six Flags. I personally don't know enough about how things are done in this industry to really comment either way on how creditors (and for the matter manufactures) will deal with this.

That is called burglary, people go to prison for doing things like that. Did you contact the local police?

Old Medusa West Construction Photos
AllenA07 replied to PortugePunk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I always liked Medusa West, I thought the Sea Serpent was an interesting element, it was a nice change from the standard cobra roll. Just curious but did B&M ever do another sea serpent element on another coaster? Thanks for the pictures. -
Scary thing, I recall watching a game with the Mighty Ducks playing the LA Kings wearing their third jersey while the Kings were wearing the one below. I didn't post a picture, but the 1980's LA Kings jerseys were pretty horrible as well. Burger Kings or Los Angeles Kings? You Decide.

Robbie & Natalie keep Freestyle Music Park in Business

That was a really fun trip report! I loved the tumbleweed picture, I can't think of a better way to sum up this park. -
You know as a stadium I've never been much of a fan of the Rose Bowl. I think it looks great on TV, and you have to love the history, but I always thought the stadium was uncomfortable. Oh yeah, go UCLA!

A $700 fart... Am I the only one a little bit curious to know just how vicious that fart actually was? -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
AllenA07 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
From the pictures it looks like the park did end up doing a decent job on the theme. Overall it looks like a really fun ride, not necessarily the most intense, but it looks like a really good time. I can't wait to get out to the park (eventually) and ride it. -
We always knew that Robb was great, but he is now both soothing and warming!

You know I though the kennel had been closed for many years now. I'm slightly shocked to hear that it is still open.

I've been on my fair share of coasters, and maybe I'm just not reading all of the warning signs, but do most rides include a clause that you need to make sure your prosthesis is property attached. I can just see it now. Some kid is going to have finally worked up the nerve to ride Manta, his first major coaster! Right as he goes to get in line for the ride, he watches the train fly by and some guys arm rip off and fall to the ground. $50 for a trip to Seaworld, $25,000 for the counseling after seeing the arm rip off, the expression on the kids face, priceless.

^And that has always been my problem on Goliath. Don't get me wrong, I have always really liked the coaster, however at the same time I've always felt that there is potential there for an even better ride. Another decent air time hill would have been great, and would have given the coaster much better balance, it's just a bit short on air for a hyper. With that said I don't think many people would knock the positive G's on Goliath. No matter how you shake it, still a solid hyper.

Photo TR: Diamondback and Pilgrim's Plunge
AllenA07 replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great pictures. It's interesting that it appears that they really rushed to get Pilgrim's Plunge open on time. I'm curious to see what the area is going to look like after they've had time to put in some landscaping and such. Overall though it looks like a decent water ride. It clearly doesn't look anywhere near soaking as say Perilous Plunge, but it still looks like you get decently wet. -
Robb & Elissa's Transatlantic Cruise!

Was that thing really 13 minutes long? I think I would last a few minutes on that before sharing my lunch with those around me. -

That game four that year is what really made me into a die hard hockey fan. I remember having to convince my parents to let me stay up past my bed time, and telling them that it's just overtime, it'll be over soon. Several hours later watching Uwe Krupp nail the winning shot, amazing. I had watched hockey before that (I watched the Rangers win it and had no clue what was going on) and was learning the sport but it wasn't really until that season I had learned enough of the sport to really follow it. It is great seeing some of those old players who have since hung up the skates. Felix Potvin will always hold a special place in my heart after the 02 playoffs. Down 3-0 in the game (and 2-0 in the series) the Kings scored 3 goals in five minutes against the Red Wings, and ended up taking the series in 6 games. Potvin kept us alive in that game and in that series. Took Colorado to 7 games that year, which is pretty decent seeing as how they went on to win the cup that year.
