  1. I'm going to go with Mancuso here, but I do think Vonn is pretty good looking.
  2. I just finished Rachet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. I know it's an older game now, but I just got a PS3 so I'm playing catch up. Fun game, I wouldn't mind getting a few more from that series. Simcity is one of my favorite games. I've been playing that series since I was 6-7 years old. Of course I've gotten much better at it since I was that age, but still get the same thrill from being able to run a profitable city. I'm still holding out that someday there will be a Simcity 5.
  3. ^What was the project?
  4. I'm actually curious how much power the insurance companies have when it comes to setting height restrictions. If the insurance company thinks 36 inches is too great of a risk, the park may have been forced to set the height at 42 inches in order to afford the insurance premiums on the ride.
  5. For the moment I'm going to assume this is simply a mistake that will be corrected. I can't imagine why the park would build this ride and then give it such a requirement. They're going to end up excluding the group in which this coaster would have been most popular with!
  6. ^And that is why I'm not for making Marijuana legal.
  7. Just wondering, but what kind of work do you do that is so stressful that you've either got to smoke or take Oxycontin to control the stress?
  8. I've survived another semester of school, and am getting ready to head out to see some family. That means no (I can still read, but posting is too hard on my blackberry) TPR for the next two weeks.
  9. I question what the effect of legalization would be on the illegal drug market. I have a very hard time believing that instead of dealing drugs Jimmy the Dealer would decide to clean up his act, go to college and become a CPA. What I worry about is that dealers are still going to need a source of income and therefore are going to begin attempting to sell other, more dangerous, drugs. Now to be clear I'm in no way advocating keep it illegal because we need to consider the needs of the drug dealers, but it's just an interesting aspect to consider. The other point I want to hit is the entire concept of, well alcohol is legal and therefore we should make weed legal. I'm really not a fan of that kind of logic. Can alcohol be dangerous? Yes. Can alcohol be addictive? Yes. Can Alcohol cause accidents when people drive under its influence? Yes. Alright so lets make marijuana legal since it may or may not be as dangerous as alcohol. Should people drive drunk, of course not. However just because people drive drunk and alcohol is legal, doesn't mean we need to go out and make marijuana legal.
  10. Wait... What???
  11. I know I'm going to hear it for this one, but I remember being a kid and thinking that Windjammer looked like the coolest ride on the face of the Earth. I was actually very excited for its opening. In hindsight I called that one wrong.
  12. I would call the park and tell them what happened and I'm sure they can give you further instructions. Sounds like nothing more than a mistake, I'm sure they can get it taken care of for you.
  13. I would argue that this isn't true. While it might not by physically addictive, I know a lot of people who simply can't get to sleep without it. Might not by physically addictive, but it sure seems to be mentally addictive. Zero reports of people dying from it? How about in car accidents caused from driving while high? Is that not direct enough? Just because everybody seems so confused by this concept, DWI (DUI depending where you are in the country) is not only an alcohol offense, there are many ways you can be under the influence. Also I can say from personal experience that the single time in my life I tried it I ended up being very uptight, not the extent of violent but still I was at minimum irritable. Lastly in terms of damage to internal organs. I don't really know much here, but long term exposure does at least make people seem a lot slower. But maybe it's just their sunny disposition on life from all the pot their smoking makes that makes them take life at a slower pace. Yeah that officer shouldn't really be doing the dare program. Their job is discourage the use of drugs. As for if it has an effect, I've always doubted it to some degree, but schools don't know how else to deal with the problem. Lastly on the argument that if you don't smoke pot (at least I think that is where you were trying to go with your Daren analogy) you're going to be hated by everybody, I never smoked (except for once in 8th grade) and I was popular and was invited to several parties.
  14. ^I'm happy that it seems like multiplayer gaming is going to at least remain free. Frankly I don't care about the internet all that much, other then having the ability to play online for free.
  15. My wife got me a PS3 for Christmas, and I'm thinking I'm going to pick up Metal Gear Solid 4 for it. I've never played any of the Solid games, but I did play the original Metal Gear on the NES I believe. Eventually I'm going to pick up Modern Warfare 1 and 2, but for now I'll be playing mostly sports games.
  16. Yeah while I'm not in favor of making it legal, I also don't really think comparing pot to rape is such a good idea.
  17. Just for the record since I don't think I ever mentioned it, I'm very much against the legalization.
  18. I'm not saying that nobody goes to jail for it. If you're doing any kind of dealing, or have a large enough amount on you, then yeah you're going to be heading to jail (or prison depending on how much you have) for a while. I can also tell you that other drugs are likely to land you in jail here for a while. Possession of marijuana is generally just a slap on the wrist the first time, it's going to be repeat offenders that are going to end up in jail.
  19. I just want to hit on a single point of this conversation. The entire concept of these long sentences for "minor" drug offenses is really not the true story. I can tell you that seldom do we send "minor" offenders to jail. It would be such a strain on our system to attempt to send all these people to jail, that it just can't be done. If you pick up a possession charge for a small amount of marijuana, you're going to get a citation, a drug offenders class, and generally 10-20 hours of community service. Now when you come back over and over with the same charge, it is going to tell the court that you respect the law, and then things are going to start getting worse. Most of those "minor" offenders in jail have either continued to defy the court and refuse to obey the law, or they were not that minor of an offender to begin with.
  20. I've just got this nagging feeling that his long break from golf isn't going to be all that long. Frankly I feel like April is a long way off, and I would not be shocked if we see Tiger back in time for the Masters.
  21. Last week I saw Adelitas Way, Rev Theory, Sick Puppies, and Breaking Benjamin. Overall it was a good show, first one I had been to in several years.
  22. ^I'll chime in on the people in Santa Clarity not wanting to bring their kids to the park. When I was growing up my entire family had season passes for several years. We'd occasionally do dinner out, and then head over to the park for a few hours prior to closing. They used to have a deal where if you got there in the final three hours of the day parking was free. I had numerous friends whose families also had passes. So, unless things have changed, I would assume that there are still a lot of families that enjoy going to the park together in the area. However I do agree that in terms of small children (which is what I'm guessing Elissa was talking about) there really isn't much to do at the park. As a family we didn't really start going a lot until I was a bit older (10 or so). I also agree that the answer is not building a bunch of small, subpar kid areas, but rather cleaning up and really improving the ones they have.
  23. As of right now I'm using the Wii, however after finals are done and I have some time, I plan to pick up a PS3. I don't play that much (maybe a few hours a week) so I don't think I really would qualify as a "gamer" but I'm still excited for the upgrade.
  24. I don't see why 35 would make you go slower. Yesterday it was hoovering right around 10 when I woke up, after being foggy all night. We ended up having all morning classes cancelled because of ice. However at 35, things are not going to be frozen anymore.
  25. ^Sorry about that, I read that wrong and confused myself. I was just having such a hard time trying to imagine the new Cowboy Stadium as being compact. As for the Rangers stadium, it really is fairly small. However like I said I like the ballpark, I thought it was a nice place to see a game. The little league fields around the stadium are also a very nice touch.
