Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Has the lift speed on this thing been spoken for yet? I remember I-305 also has a seriously wicked fast lift its firsts season then later on it got neutered as bad as El-Toro's lift slows badly at the top now. -

Something makes me wonder if this ride will produce the same "WHIP!" noise when the train finally leaves the station that I-305 makes. Seriously has anyone heard that thing when the train finally goes fully out of the station sometimes? Its like when your waiting you hear the "Gentlemen..Start your enginessssssssssss wwwwwwwwwwwhip crack!" I expect a Texan to yell "Yehaw!" -

Oh okay, thanks for the heads up on that. I just wasn't sure. -

You're joking right? as serious as duct tape? The rides color is SUPERMAN colored. they just took off the name. Its almost as generic as a CF name. Though I do give credit on one part. The ride name in another language sounds so much cooler. -

Its so cute!. I mean its tiny, and cute! Honestly the theming in the splash area seems to be getting more common these days. Its more so common in Europe I believe on some of the log flumes. In America most of the splash boats we have either have no theming, OR they have a cover over the turn around and thats in (I.E Cedar Point/Dorney Park. -
Hopi Hari Theme Park 2011 - Brazil

Looks pretty cool to me but what I am also seeing as far as the lift goes, it is known to have the cable lift style. AND, yet another take on the lift support types. Gigantic I-beams. -
I've tried every single thing on that list and not one was truly bad. I actually enjoyed the "century egg" . Personally against this thread I do not deem ANY food weird , due to my views on culture and boundaries I enjoy anything at least once .

Kingda Ka opening day, I waited an unprecedented number. Though I did the "Season Pass holder" preview thanks to the coupon booklet last page (same for El Toro) Having a little rip off page so you could ride it early. I don't have a limit "if I haven't ridden" something, but in honesty, If I have to wait on a ride that long I better have driven A LONG WAY or even flew out to ride it "Brand" spankin new. Or I'll wait a season and let the crowd's luster die off.

Sorry Steve I won't agree but you may have your opinion. I do know something we all can agree on though. Looking forward to a video of Robb going over the hills yelling "I love me a good Twiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisty Intamin ride". -

That wouldn't have bothered me. Its just for me and yes I KNOW I should be grateful for any coaster we are ever given on this earth. I really do. Its just to me Intamin is losing its touch, just my opinion, where companies like Premier and Zamperla are jumping into the "Big" Leagues and making big boy toys. -

I am not sure why , I mean I love this ride concept and layout but I see a small thing bothering me. The Layout is 2 large hills and a few sweeping turns. Pufferfish and I were discussing this earlier. To me the layout, seems like they took Desert Race, cut its launch off, added a lift and drop and called it a day. You get almost the same thing http://rcdb.com/3617.htm?p=19681. Sweeping turns and 2 semi large hills with a 2 hill return run. The only thing for me with this ride standing out, is the trains. Not a bad thing. I am just not as excited for this ride as I use to be. -

http://www.theparks.it/mirabilandia-p2/notizie/2011/12/le-prime-foto-di-divertical-la-novita-2012-n1111/ Divertical has gone vertical, Orange supports and blue track! Oh and in the one pic it may be sun-glare but whats up with the white looking track on I-speed. -
*sarcasm ALERT* But but, its a ride that goes upside down, it can't have a lapbar. People will fall out! general public idiocy. In serious though, Premier does alot more in the industry than just making launch coasters. As I recall they also provide companies with coaster lift chains, they've made some water coasters and more. This could be an opportunity for them to branch out and make even bigger league coasters. OH and maybe this trains wheels WON'T HAVE A 1 inch gap between the wheel and track!.

Pirate Ships/Swinging Ships
DarkStitch626 replied to megamatt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Then again the swinging "Star Ship" ones counter weights actually weigh almost as much as a school bus. I like the smaller "Ranger" and Kamikaze ones. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
DarkStitch626 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sorry but the "Giant discovery" does not look appealing. All the videos I've seen of "Spin Spider" show it's off wall random rotation to only happen at the peaks of the swings, other wise it looks way slow, and it rotates direction very again said "off walled" There is no consistency in the spinning. -
What are you most excited for in 2012?
