  1. It seems to always be the case with this park. I never did write a TR but long story short, I absolutely love this park. Better than Europa or Holiday Park. Black Mamba is ridiculous. That Mine train (Colorado Adventure?) was by far my favorite mine train I've ever ridden, so much airtime. Taron is among the most fun coasters on the planet... and even the queue was eventful, as someone kept passing out in front of me. Had to catch her a couple times. She seemed to be doing okay after some water, and I believe she even got to ride! Winjas was a lot of fun. etc. Everything at this park is better than you'd expect it to be. That's a good feeling.
  2. I'm hoping they don't add too many lights. That third lap in the dark will be a thing of beauty.
  3. The general public will be mostly indifferent about it, I'd think. The comments on Facebook are anything but positive. Personally, I hope Valleyfair gets over this nostalgia kick and adds something of worth soon.
  4. I'd rather have a Raptor than a B&M. It's not like capacity is a huge issue at Valleyfair.
  5. People seem to think Diamondback has more, so no, you're not the only one. But I'm not skeptical at all, I think the back row first drop will make a run for that title without even adding the additional 5000+ feet of track.
  6. ^ I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they are allowed to tell people what they witnessed.
  7. Same. So many factors can go into your enjoyment of rides. That said, I'm shocked to see Chicken offended by something again. This time it's someone posting an opinion.
  8. Top 5 parks that I've been to 1. Cedar Point - This park is the Mecca for me. It's not just the coasters, it's the flat rides, the beach, the resort feel, but mostly the coasters. Maverick, Dragster, and Millennium are all among my favorites of all time, and they have a seemingly endless supply of very good coasters behind them. 2. Knoebels - There's something special about this park that I haven't been able to replicate anywhere else. I think it has something to do with Phoenix, The Flyers, and the food. I could ride Phoenix for days and not get bored. 3. Magic Mountain - I don't think the top tier coasters compare all that fondly to Cedar Point, but this park has more depth than any other in the market. I love Twisted Colossus, Full Throttle, Tatsu, and X2. 4. Phantasialand - Out of the three parks in Europe that I visit, this is my favorite. Every coaster in the park was better than I expected it to be, with the exception of Taron. That said, Taron is a great coaster, and compares favorably to most I've been on. A lot of airtime, a lot of fun twists and turns, and a long ride time. Add in the European charm, the dark rides, the themeing, and you've got yourself firmly in the top 5! 5. Kings Dominion - This was a really tough call. Europa Park is better in a lot of ways, and Kings Island/Carowinds could both be argued. I only had one day at Kings Dominion, but the combination of coasters, landscape, and lack of lines made it one of the greatest I've ever had at an amusement park. I rode I-305 many times, and it's arguably my favorite coaster (I go back and fourth with Maverick). Parks I'd love to visit 1. Silver Dollar City - I've been meaning to go here. 2. Hershey Park - Skyrush + ridiculous coaster collection. 3. Port Aventura - Probably won't happen for a while... 4. Six Flags Great Adventure - Maybe first. I drove past it once, and I've been sad about it ever since. 5. Dollywood - If they ever got an RMC that worked, I would be there in a second. -- HM - Busch Gardens WilliamsTampa
  9. ^ Same. I'm guessing the Valravn line is going to take the biggest hit with the opening of New Mean Streak.
  10. Don't know if you caught the extra set of ledgers, but it's soon to be three sets of close track.
  11. Yeah, I messed that up. For some reason (lack of reading) I thought this was only excluding RMC, Intamin, and B&M. This list was already difficult enough for me, so I'll just leave it.
  12. Just looking through some of the coasters I've been on, and coasters mentioned here. Quick list. 1.) Phoenix 2.) X2 3.) Full Throttle 4.) Prowler 5.) Wodan 6.) Renegade 7.) American Thunder 8.) The Beast 9.) Sky Scream 10.) Speed - The Ride.
  13. It's growing! I'm interested to see where the ledgers on the third lap go. Seems they are finally starting to add them again.
  14. 2018 - Cedar Fair brings in the Geauga Lake slides and bowl complex, and suddenly Valleyfair has the best water park around.
  15. You're a pinball wizard, Bert. Great trip report. I decided to skip a visit to the Point this year, and I'm really regretting it. Haven't actually done anything like Coastermania before, I'm thinking 2018 could be the year.
  16. At the park for my first time today and I have to say, Fury is amazing. I love everything about it and it might be my new favorite ride. We've been on it 16 times so far today. Afterburn is also awesome (aside from the fact that it just broke down so we're sitting outside the queue at the moment). One of the best inverts I've been on. 16 times a couple hours into the day? I'm jealous. Only got on Fury 4-5 times in the 2 days I was at the park.
  17. No launch. It has those wacky bunny hops leading to the lift.
  18. The first sports park must be a success, as Cedar Fair is planning on doing it again. Right next door. www.sanduskyregister.com/story/201705260031
